I average about 120 pages per month. This printer has a high page per minute rating, and does print fast. The wireless printing has been very convenient. What I do not like is that on average, when starting to print for the first time that day, it will take approximately 2 minutes to print a page, saying "doing printer maintenance" It has done this from day one, and does not seem to be related to how many pages have been printed (print 2 pages one day, and the next day it has to do maintenance). This is very annoying, and makes me wonder why I paid this price for this printer when I could have spent less than half the amount and had the same overall speed or better with a different printer. There is nothing more annoying than needing one page printed, and waiting 2 or more minutes to get it, while the printer is doing maintenance.

Decent printer !

I needed a printer quickly and this was the only HP in stock. It is very loud when printing or just going through it's warming up procedures. I'm not sure it will work for a small tax practice, so I will probably add another HP printer before January.

We were looking for an all-in-one with a feed tray and the 6978 fit our requirements. Ordered it online and picked it up at the store. Took it home, read the directions and set it up; NO PROBLEMS! My wife and I are happy with our purchase.
