Much more compact than the printer it replaced, with greater reliability and better quality.

Setup was fairly easy. One minor hiccup connecting to our wireless network but was easily solved. Good quality color and monochrome prints. Good print speed. This may be a five-star printer, but I just haven't had it in action long enough to make that call. Happy with this purchase.

Purchased for $180 because it had all the features we needed (separate ink cartridges, 2-sided printing, wireless printing, scanning). Setup was so simple it was crazy. Can print from our Mac, our Surface and my wife’s computer. Even directly from our phones. Print quality is good for our household needs. Plus, the price dropped to $90 and was price matched. Very happy with the purchase.

Printer is easy to set up. It is quiet and quick plus holds a good supply of paper. It is also available for instant ink which is a great money saving way to acquire ink when running low.

I read mixed reviews about this printer, but decided to go for it anyway, as I got such a good deal the day we went to Best Buy in Tyler to get a printer. My old HP lasted almost 7 years. So I thought of other brands but in the end decided to stick with HP. First of all, installation was very easy. Did it mostly by myself. Husband helped carry it in, although it is not very heavy. I connected it wireless to our home network router. Then all of our devices connected with no issues. It takes about 30 seconds for the first page to print. But after that, when I say print, it wakes up and prints immediately. So only the very first page print was slow. My other one was SO slow. So far, after a month, I still have well over 3/4s of the ink left in the cartridges that came with it. And the ones it uses are a bit less than my old printer. Print quality is awesome. For most day to day stuff, I print in draft mode so as not to waste ink. Haven't printed photos, but color copies are beautiful. I run 24 pound paper, made for inkjet. It is great and I am very pleased so far! Also, I did NOT sign up for the HP ink program. I would rather buy them on my own when I need them.

This printer does a very good job but the setup instructions and owners manual needs work. I've not been able to change page size from the software yet and have not found any online help yet.

I have had this printer for about a month and really like it. I bought it for my wife as a replacement for our Canon printer and wish I bought this one first. I really like the top feeding functionality. It makes scanning and copying so easy. The copies and print jobs are clear and sharp. The setup was easy and fast to do on two of my networked laptops. We all print wireless without issues. Definitely recommend.

Great for teachers. I LOVE this copier but as a teacher, I would get a printer that allows use of automatic cartridge ink notification. WIFI will not work with most schools for order ability/restocking without worry. Was expensive to buy out of pocket. But great printer. Especially if you are lazy and don't want to walk all over the place for copies.

HP - OfficeJet Pro 6978 Wireless All-In-One Instant Ink Ready Printer - Black: Works great on our wireless network. Driver issues if try to use out of network but this has not affected my use of the device. Easy to scan, copy. I do not use the fax mode so I can not advise here. I also do not subscribe to instant ink and find frequent reminders to do so annoying but for a machine that works great I can ignore this down side.

I was really amazed at the features I could get at this price. I keep this printer in my mobile truck, so I use a hotspot for internet. It was really easy to use the setup wizard on the printer to connect to the hotspot, and once it was on my "network" all my other devices were able to see it. I can even print wirelessly with my ipad! Printing is quick and looks good. I'm interested in seeing how much work I can get out of the setup ink cartridges.

I was able to get almost everything together myself without my computer savvy son's help. Everything was working just fine, except I was stuck with the flashing blue wireless light. My son set up the wireless for me in half a minute. Duh! Printer works fine, does everything it is supposed to do without a hitch. It is a little louder than my old HP, but who cares when it works!!!

I bought this printer to replace another 697x that stopped working. I might have bought a different printer altogether, except I just spent $70 on new ink for my old one. This printer does a good job with everyday printing. It does OK with photos, but if you're going to be printing lots of them, get a photo printer. The #1 selling point for me is that this has 1 cartridge for each color, not a tri-color cartridge. It bugs the heck out of me to toss a cartridge that is empty for one color but still has ink for another. General advise, not specific to this printer. If you don't print regularly, like at least once every couple of weeks, an ink jet might not be a good choice. I've had many printers die over the years because the ink dries and clogs the print head and there's no good way to open it up again.
