This is a great printer, the set up was easy and printing is the snap. I do highly recommend this printer to anybody for a home/office or small business for simple printing use. I would not say it's a work force printer, however it is a great printer. The prince pretty fast and the color and black-and-white photos come out really well. I highly recommend this printer to any friend or colleague. For the price, it cannot be beat.

Good older design printer that replaced my original 6978 which I had alot of trouble free use on. Perhaps not as fast as the new design printers, but performs the printing/faxing/scaning/copy well. Have not had issues with paper jams on this model also.

Was able to install wirelessly on two Laptops, with Windows 7 and Windows 10. However, because HP does not allow wireless for Vista, we tried using the supplied CD, which was supposed to allow it on USB. Did not work. Contacted HP support, on telephone, and she was also unable to install it on our third and fourth Vista Laptops. So, ain't working as advertised. No way to get HP to help, so far as I can see.

Above average print quality and great print speeds make this printer good for low-volume printing, especially when used with HP's Instant Ink service. Software is just ok.

I love the HP Smart Print app and the options that it gives that expands what's available on the control panel of the printer. The printer is quiet and prints quickly and does a good job with day to day printing. Removing a star because I was disappointed in how it printed a photo I wanted to print from my computer. I got best result when printing it from the Smart App, but still had horizontal lines. The Epson this replaced did a better job in that department, but will play with this, maybe there's a trick to it. All things considered, I love the printer and I'm glad I don't print a lot of photos, that would be a disappointment.

We bought this printer after talking to the HP rep. We also signed up for replacement cartridges after a certain amount of copies are made. We live the copies it makes.

I needed a full capability printer/scanner/fax to replace one that was 15 years old. This one had all the features I wanted(not concerned with photos, etc) at a very reasonable price. It was easy to set up on the household network and has passed every test--printing, scanning and fax. Was recommended by the sales person in the store after I described my needs. Good choice.

Love this printer. Easy set up. Love the features. Instant ink made it even better. Sets up an email which enables you to send docs and pics straight to your printer.

Scanning and printing are quick and quiet, print quality is very good, and it was simple to setup and begin using. The paper tray holds enough paper to print large documents, and the feed tray for scanning is likewise. Emailing scanned documents works well, but the application to send is not on the main menu. Definitely recommend this one.

The HP Office Jet Pro 6978 is a multi-faceted printer that allows you to do so much in your home office. The print quality is good. You can't go wrong with this printer.

We needed a desktop printer in our office to supplement the mainline copier. This HP performs exactly the way we need it to. Nice, crisp copies produced very quickly.

As all HP product, this particular printer has everything I need for all my printing needs from scanning, copy, printing and faxing, but best of all is amazingly fast. On top of been a good HP printer, the price is excellent. Before I decided to purchase a new one, I had an HP for over 10 years, but unfortunately my old printer stopped working, so it was about time to get a new one.

I’ve used the printer for a month now. The quality and speed of printing is great. The touchscreen is well organized and responsive. Remote printing (e.g. via iPhone or email) works without a hitch. I liked the idea that it can do dual-sided and legal sized paper. However I had some minor issues getting legal copies to work. Fax is good. Caller ID is a nice feature. Scan quality is average.

Very pleasantly surprised that the wireless printer was super fast. I was hesitant about wireless but decided to try it anyway. It was a good purchase. Easy setup.

This is the 3rd HP over the years I’ve purchased and I wouldn’t buy any other. So easy to set up and use. Especially for those who hate dealing with things like this.

This printer is easy to set up and very user friendly. It “thinks” a lot and that slows it down a bit, but I have no complaints. Great purchase of a quality product.

Needed a new printer that copies, scans, faxes, and prints. So far, the installation process was quite facile. I like the quality of the print, as well, as the speed with which it operates. Looking forward to its use. I'm not quite sure how the HP InstantInk replacement service works. Supposedly, it offers 5 months free ink replacement with my purchase, but I haven't seen where and how it kicks in...
