The printer is quiet and quick! Scans clearly.....

Initial take is this is great for printing documents for school and scanning docs using the document feeder. My only issues are photos come out dark and the back side of pages sometimes aren't straight, even though the front side is. HP actually sent a replacement because the scanner was yielding skewed results using the ADF.

The documentation provided for installation and use was inadequate. The last HP I bought had much better and helpful documentation. Thanks to the Geek Squard. They gotme up and running.

Nice printer for the money, but not as good as my previous 8600 and 8700 generation printers. I found the installation was bulky.

I've used this printer as my 1st line printer and am fine with the way it handles my print jobs. It does seem to spend a lot of time doing printer maintenance, and that is irritating towards the end of the day when I'd like to finish up my work. Color copy is very good, and ink monitoring is very good.

Printer has functioned well since purchase. Controls are a touch screen, BB compare description did not recognize this. Printer software only provides an estimate of ink level and does not tell you when ink is empty. Either waste ink by changing too early or waste copies from poor printing when empty

To save paper we use double sided printing all the time. With our old HP we had to wait until half the sheets were printed and manually turn the stack of paper and reinsert into the printer. If there was a printing problem it took much time to correct. This printer will print duplex without intervention!! Great!

Just bought 4 days ago, but this Office Jet pro 6978 has great printing quality and a good printing speed for multiple copies. Love the instant ink program so don't have to worry about purchasing expensive cartridges & watch for sales to purchase them. Done easy by WiFi technology to reorder.

I had hesitated buying a new color printer because they seem to be disposable these days, so I was totally surprised at the quality and durability of this model so far. I have been printing a lot, and have even enrolled in HP instant ink due to the value it brings! I am very pleased with this purchase.

This printer is GREAT. It is the only printer that I have found that will duplex scan and duplex print. I love the duplex scan feature when using the automatic document feeder.

Very good purchase , my 2nd HP printer from Best Buy. 1st purchased 10-15 years ago and lasted this long. So decision was easy for a 2nd one. Sales staff very helpful!

So far the printer is as advertised, good product for a good price... My only complaint or dislike so far is that when you turn it on, it seems to take a very long time to figure out it is ready to do work and you hear gears and stuff turning and glunking and setting and resetting, etc.. Then its ready, and its all good.

Overall the printer works good on wifi however, occasionally the printer won't print. Don't know why it doesn't print. The computer and printer are 3 feet apart. Sometimes I must reboot the printer so it detects the wifi signal from the computer.
