The printer has been meeting all of my needs at this time. I had some difficulty with the scanner function but it is working well now. Would like better support from HP but get excellent assistance from the Geek Squad.

It works pretty well for printing and scanning. Haven't tried to do anything else with it. I've had to reset it once already since getting it but overall it's been good.

Easy set up and use. Automatic Document Feeder sensor failure after a week. Unable to reset to factory original settings. HP Tech support was great. Spent almost an hour to trouble shoot. Received a replacement printer in less than a week. Received an alternate printer with lower tray capacity. Went from sleek black to the horrible HP colors. I was able to transfer the Geek Squad warranty to the new printer. Thanks BB.

This scanner/printer works well for light duty. It is pretty slow and the scanner struggles with a large scan amount. It also can be a little buggy when trying to print wirelessly. But a good price and works for light duty.

this is the same model previously owned which handles our specific needs very well. the new updated printer does a great job.

HP ink is the only way to go!! Never jams in printer and will notify on screen when ink is running low! Great value when on sale. Should of bought two. Next time will stick up!!

This system meets all my document and image duplication needs. I really like it's ability to capture double sided docs for printing/copying/scanning and faxing. Ink is a little pricey and non HP ink doesn't work very well with the unit.

I have been using this printer for a few weeks now and it works well. It has good features, an easy to use touchscreen, and a decent copy speed for a home printer. I like that it can print double-sided so I can reduce copy paper use.

Printing quality is good but slow. Has trouble connecting with wife's Kindle. Would not be happy if I paid full price but got it on sale with a trade-in so it's OK.

As my older HP Office Jet 8000 series, made for WIN 7 and earlier was losing some of its functions, I decided it was time to get a new one. I saw that the HP 6978 was at a higher end, price wise, and getting some good reviews. I also noticed that noise was a sometimes complaint. When it went on sale I picked it up thinking that the noise couldn't be all bad. Was I wrong on that. HP should have never released this to market. When it starts to print, the noise that it makes is like no other I have had on any of the other HP printers I've had (at least 8) through the years. Another item is its continued printer maintenance, when 1st using it, for the day. I have never had that as well, in the past. Had I known this was what I was going to experience when buying it, I would have gotten something else. I guess that is why it was on sale, for so long, trying to unload the stock. Stay away from this model or any similar model of HP.

This printer has the features i want, without the bells and whistles I wouldn't use. I use the double sided printing quite a bit. I don't print anything fancy - mostly documents. I would buy it again.

I have to fill in fifty words about this printer so here goes .. it was very hard at first I had to call 3 times and spend hours with support to get this printer to work correctly with windows 10 but it seems that so far it has worked..

I was overwhelmed looking for printers. I am now happy to say I purchased this one. It has done everything I have needed it to do, and I have never had a single problem. Highly recommend!

I love being able to print from my iPhone or desktop. I also bought into the HP ink program and I like that HP sends you how much money you are saving. The printer performs maintenance on its own since it is connected to the internet.

Simply put... it's all in one. It's precise, quiet & touch screen. Comes with everything you need, except for the paper. Connected to 4 cell phones, 2 tablets and a laptop.

Even though HP has a quick set-up app, this printer was not easy to install at all. After a very difficult install process, there were missing drivers for scanning. I had to contact HP support and still the printer did not work, so I had to return it. Also, this is a fairly large printer for a home set-up so keep that in mind.

Geek Squad came to house to set me up (highly recommend this service). Prior printer that didn’t do as much was damaged in move. This printer was recommended and I love it. Does everything and is really simple to use.

The printer is fine. Sometimes it takes a really long time to print. It feels like everytime I print the printer has to update for ten minutes. Why can't it do that when I'm not trying to print?

I bought this hp printer because I prefer hp printers and have been very happy with this one. It has exactly what I need and the print cartridges are easy to change. Recommended for students and people working at home.

Computer-literate printer & web-smart for sure. No complaints at all with printing performance except for attempts to print out wedding invitations on cardstock...absolutely failed that chore! So HP Office Jet Pro 6978 gets 4/5 stars.
