Set up relatively easy. All was fine first week or so, then received “error” message. The printer will go off-line and one must unplug and disconnect wi-fi, then reconnect. Frustrating!!!

Printer is great, but the first replacement cartridge I opened the ink was everywhere. Ruined my clothes and was on furniture. Next was fine, but last one was same disaster. I contacted HP and they never responded. 3rd HP printer. And this will be my last.

Occasionally had trouble connecting to my computer.

This all-in-one printer works well as a copier and printer but scanning photos (both BW and color) is poor, producing very dull images not easily corrected with photo software. We've gone to taking photos of prints with our smart phones to get decent color.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 uses more ink for maintenance cleanings than printing. Seems like every time you need to print, there is a long wait for the printer to run a "maintenance cycle". Other than that problem it works well.

Basic 4 in 1 with okay print quality. Somewhat cumbersome to set up scan on my laptops. Placement of ink cartridges is awkward and not ideal. Overall - - okay machine for occasional personal use.

It works and does all the things needed, but the Best Buy salesman told me it would use much less ink than my old HP printer. It doesn't. I changed printers to save money on ink and now I've bought a new printer and am still having the same issue.

In the beginning it would do everything it says. After using the scanning option and i tried to print from my laptop it said it was offline. It doesn't scan or copy from a two sided page very good with jamming, but in the beginning i had no problems.

Had all the features I wanted but after 1 1/2 years the print quality for images with a lot of blue declined and was unusable. I had a protection plan so traded in for new printer.

I expect more from HP, who has been manufacturing printers forever. This printer is SO SLOW. If you print one page, better get a cup of coffee because it takes forever. And sometimes when you try and print something it will go into a “printer undergoing maintenance” mode where you have to wait around 5 minutes until that finishes before it starts to print. It’s random, and annoying. And the ink costs almost as much as the printer. How is that even possible...or acceptable? I can’t recommend this printer.
