I needed/wanted a multi-function device to print and scan wireless from my Macbook. This works great without having to move my Macbook to my computer desk to connect to a USB port. It does longer than I want for a print job to spool, but once it does the pages print very quickly.

Easy to use, a tad noisy, but overall does the job for a home printer. Fax and scan functions work well. Better than the one costing $50 more that we had.

This printer is replacing an old HP that is no longer supported. It was very easy to set up. I like that I am now able to print from my PC, iPad and iPhone. The HP Instant Ink feature is a definite plus. I figured that I will save all the way around. I couldn't be happier.

If you are looking for a reliable black & white printer, this is the one. The ink cartridge lasts long and copies print quickly. It is also very easy to print or copy 2 sided and multiple pages. Additionally, this printer works wirelessly making it a breeze to use.

What really impressed me is how easy it was to setup the printer. After unpacking it and plugging it into the network, I followed the simple instructions and the printer basically installed itself. With Windows 10, the computer found the printer right away and it was simple to set it to be my default printer. Compare to the 7 year old Inkjet that this printer replaced, the print speed is fast and the result very clear and crisp. The scanning function is very easy to use and I was creating PDF files in no time. For a personal printer at home, this is a cost efficient inkjet printer that is easy to use. I highly recommend it.

I replaced a prior HP multi-function device with this one. It's smaller, quieter, extremely easy to set up. Copies are very clear and take no time to print, single and double-sided. Does pause a little longer than expected to let ink dry. I have not had to replace ink yet, but just recently purchased, so don't know if that's a good deal yet or not. Overall though, I'm very pleased with the purchase so far! It was a Black Friday purchase, and very pleased with the discounted price. It shipped very quickly, too.

I really like this printer - easy to use and I especially like the 2 sided automatic scanning. One problem - my laptop can't find the printer when I am logged onto our VPN. So I can only print and scan when I'm not connected to anything else. A little inconvenient,.

Good for the money, a bit slow to print and noisy, but who really cares about that. Scanning is decent but not great for scanning photos. Much much better that the canon I threw out ( broke after 3 months) . It is only a month old, so I hope it can last 2 years.

This HP 6978 is by far the best printer I've ever bought. The price couldn't be beat (it was a one day only sale 49.99), and all of the features it has was everything I was looking for. This is my first wireless printer, and being able to not only print from anywhere in my house, but also from my cellphone, has been my most favorite feature so far. The print quality is great, whether it's documents or photos. I also like that the paper tray holds a lot of paper, plus the paper feed feature comes in handy for a quick copy. I'd definitely recommend this printer. Really great product and great buy.

Very pleased. Printer is fast. Sharp copies. Scanner also makes sharp scans, and is relatively fast. Don't really use the fax. Set up was easy. Use for home office. A huge improvement from my old printer/scanner from 10 years ago, both in speed and quality.

The officejet pro fits my needs. It is easy to setup and use. It provides wireless printing from my phone and tablet as well as my laptop. It is compact, considering its multiple functions. I'm pleased.

I have had 5 HP printers over the years and none have failed. I usually give them to someone once I see one I like more. The last one was a HP6500 that has lasted about 15 years. The 6978 has features that I am used to and more. It is easy to set-up and very quiet. The WiFi printer function is quick and the print quality is excellent.

Purchased this printer after looking for some time for a wireless model which was able to do everything I wished: Scan, Copy, Fax and Print. This was at a good price point, so we went ahead and bought. (FYI: It went on sale by $20 more about 3 weeks later, BB refused to honor their match since time had expired. Bummer.) This model was easy to set up and even my antique desk top computer is now able to send documents to print. HP offers good quality as a norm, and this model is no different. Highly recommend.

So, my previous printer started to not cooperate with me and decided it was time to take it into best buy to do a warranty exchange.. Before going in I forgot to do printer research! I was quite nervous trying to pick a printer in store but thankfully my final decision was the right one! I really like this printer a lot, decent range for wireless printing, convenient internet printing while away, very useful apps, and instant ink compatibility! Only 1 negative, in my opinion, would be the amount of ink cartridges. I like having 1 black and 1 color, this printer has the 4 cartridge setup. There are advantages to this at times but I find all the separate colors still run out within a few pages of each other. Equalling multiple ink changes and trips to the printer within a few printed pages.

I've been using this for about 2 weeks now and have no complaints. I haven't done any high quality photos, but the speed and ease of use make this printer work well. Can print from any phone or computer connected to the wifi network, so there is never a time that printing tickets to a game is a hassle at all. Got a deal on this printer and it actually made it cheaper than buying replacement ink for my old printer, so I would definitely buy it again and may actually do that when this ink runs out.

My old 8xxx series HP printer died suddenly and I wanted something smaller but still offering 2 sided printing, flat bed scanner and a document feeder. This printer fills the bill in all regards. Prints quickly enough and feeder works great. Good print quality but I haven't printed any photos yet. Seems to work well wireless as well as wired to the network. Easy to print from phone and tablets. Occasionally it takes awhile to start printing, hence the 4 stars. Very pleased after 2 months.

Overall, good printer. Setting up was fairly painless. I do not print a lot, but it does a really good job, particularly with postage labels (although I have found completely removing the paper and replacing with the labels is best). The scanning function is really good, with 1 or 2-sided options.

This HP printer is an upgrade/replacement for an older wireless HP I had and it's a great printer for the money. Easy set-up and quality prints and loads of great features. I would definitely recommend this product.
