The HP Omen 25 is my first 360 Hz capable gaming monitor. It comes with an adjustable height stand, HDMI cable, DisplayPort cable, USB-B cable, and power cord. The inputs are located on the left-hand underside of the display and include 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort 1.4, USB-B uplink, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, and headphone/mic combo port. On the back, there is a customizable RGB light ring and in the lower right-hand corner are the power and OSD menu navigation buttons. The stand also tilts, swivels, and pivots which makes plugging in the cables much easier. When assembled, the monitor and stand weigh a bit over 14.5 lbs. At the lowest height setting, the screen’s chin sits around 2” above the desktop with a total height of 14.75” which rises to around 18.5” at max height. The monitor is also compatible with VESA 100x100 mounts. This IPS display has a max brightness of 400 nits, so I typically only keep it at around 70-80% brightness. It has great contrast and clarity, and it is factory calibrated for accurate, vivid, true 8-bit color making it suitable not just for gaming but digital art and content creation as well. The display’s native resolution is 1080 x 1920 pixels and while it can accept 4K input from gaming consoles, will downscale the signal. You can adjust all of the monitor’s settings directly through the OSD menu and the four directional keys, which double as customizable shortcuts. You can also change settings via the Omen Gaming Hub software. A few built-in overlay options are available like crosshair, game timers, and FPS counter but note that only one can be on screen at a time. I used this monitor with my HP Omen laptop running on an NVIDIA RTX 4060 GPU, however, since the only available video port was HDMI, I was limited to 240 Hz max refresh rate. When I switched over to DP on my desktop gaming rig with an AMD RX7600 GPU, I was able to select the max refresh rate of 360 Hz. Since the monitor is G-sync and Adaptive Sync capable, variable refresh rates can be toggled on for tear-free performance during gaming sessions. While playing games like Warframe, CS2, and Halo infinite, visuals and fast motion were buttery smooth with little to no blur. In some games I saw framerates consistently in the upper 200s low 300s, however, in others you may become CPU/GPU-bound and hit a bottleneck in terms of how many frames they can push out consistently. I like the inclusion of the headphone hanger that you can attach to either side of the screen; it is especially convenient when your headset is plugged into the jack at the back. The diamond-shaped LED light at the back is also a cool feature as you can customize its color and animation. Overall, while I’m not a competitive gamer, this monitor is still really fun to game on and delivers smooth, responsive visuals during fast-paced action, allowing me to react faster, aim more precisely, and experience my games immersively. It’s color accurate enough to do creative work on, but isn’t 4K for those that want the extra fine detail for super high-resolution imaging or video content.

The HP OMEN 24.5" 360Hz: A Review from a Guy Who's Been Staring at Screens Since They Were Green Let me get something out of the way right up front: I'm a lot older than most gamers. I've been looking at computer screens since they were black with green text, and they hummed at you like they resented being turned on. I've watched every generation of display technology come and go — CRTs the size of a doghouse, those first flat panels that ghosted so bad every game looked like it was being played underwater, the "HD revolution," all of it. So when I tell you a monitor stopped me in my tracks, understand that I am not a man who is easily stopped. I've seen a lot of screens. Most of them were fine. Fine is the enemy of a good review, and this monitor is not fine. This thing is remarkable. What We're Talking About The monitor in question is the HP OMEN 24.5" IPS Full HD gaming monitor — 360Hz refresh rate, G-SYNC and FreeSync compatible, VESA certified HDR, adjustable height stand, HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, in black. I run it as my primary display on an OMEN 35L with an RTX 5060, sitting next to a 180Hz panel that used to be my pride and joy and now feels like the opening act. I'll be honest about where my head was when I bought it. 360Hz sounded like marketing. It sounded like one of those spec-sheet arms races where the numbers keep going up and the actual experience stays the same, and the only thing that really changes is the price tag. I figured I'd see a modest improvement over my 180Hz screen, shrug, and get on with my life. I have never been so happy to be wrong. The Speed: Where My Skepticism Went to Die Here's the thing nobody tells you about high refresh rates until you've lived with one: it's not that things look faster. It's that things stop looking like a screen at all. I play fast games. Racing games where the scenery is a blur at 200 miles an hour, arena shooters where everything on screen is either exploding or about to. These are exactly the situations where monitors traditionally fall apart — where you get that smearing, that tearing, that half-second where the image splits like a bad photograph and your brain has to stitch reality back together. Whatever handshake is going on between this panel and my GPU, it's a good marriage. Motion on this screen doesn't look like motion on a screen. It looks like looking out a window at something moving. That's the best way I can describe it, and I realize how that sounds, and I stand by it. The Blacks: Actually Black Now let's talk about something that matters even more to me than speed, because I'm a man who appreciates atmosphere. Shadows. Night scenes. The dark corner of a room where something might be waiting. Most monitors — and I mean most, including some expensive ones — don't give you black. They give you dark gray and hope you don't notice. You load up a nighttime scene and the whole thing has this washed-out, foggy quality, like somebody left a light on somewhere off-camera. It kills the mood. It kills the immersion. Horror isn't scary at dark-gray. Night driving isn't tense at dark-gray. The blacks on this OMEN are black. Truly black. When a scene goes dark, it goes DARK — shadows have depth, nighttime has presence, and the dark parts of the image feel like actual darkness instead of a screen doing an impression of darkness. The first time I sat in a night scene on this thing, I actually leaned back in my chair and just looked at it for a minute. The shadows had layers. There was detail down in the dark that I could feel more than see, which is exactly how darkness works in real life. The VESA HDR certification isn't just a sticker on the box — the range between the brightest brights and the darkest darks gives images a dimensionality I frankly didn't expect from a panel this size at this price. And here's what surprised me most: IPS panels aren't supposed to be famous for this. IPS is the color-and-viewing-angle technology; the deep blacks are usually somebody else's party trick. This panel somehow does both, and I don't know what deal HP made to pull that off, but I'm not asking questions. The Colors and Clarity: The Part I Didn't See Coming Speed is what this monitor is sold on, but the image quality is what keeps ambushing me. The clarity on this panel is genuinely something else — Full HD on a 24.5-inch screen means the pixel density is tight, and everything from game textures to plain old text is crisp in a way that makes you realize how much soft-focus mush you'd been tolerating before. The resolution and sharpness are, in a word, super. Edges are edges. Fine details are fine details. Nothing swims. The colors, meanwhile, are rich without being cartoonish. That's a harder balance than it sounds — plenty of gaming monitors crank the saturation until everything looks like a candy store, and you don't notice how fatiguing it is until you turn it off and your eyes thank you. This IPS panel doesn't do that. Sunsets look warm. Foliage looks alive. Skin tones look human. And because it's IPS, the colors don't shift and die the moment you move your head six inches to the left, which matters more than people think when you're actually living with a monitor instead of reviewing one for an afternoon. Put the clarity, the colors, and the true blacks together and you get images with real depth to them. Scenes have atmosphere. Games I've played plenty of times before have detail and mood I flat-out never saw on lesser screens. That's not an upgrade; that's a revelation. The Stand, the Build, and the Surprise Nobody Mentioned The adjustable height stand is one of those features you don't appreciate until you're my age and your neck files formal complaints. Getting the screen to exactly the right height — not "close enough," but exactly right — makes long sessions comfortable in a way that no amount of pillow-stacking under a fixed stand ever managed. The adjustment is smooth and the whole thing feels planted. No wobble, no drift, no cheap-plastic creak. It sits on the desk like it means it. That's not a spec you'll find on the box, but it might be the most valuable feature of the bunch. It also plays beautifully with others. I run it alongside a second monitor, and the OMEN is so clearly the star of the desk that my other panel — a perfectly respectable screen in its own right — has been demoted to holding the boring windows. Dragging anything worth actually looking at over to the OMEN has become pure reflex. Who This Is For If you play fast games — racing, shooters, anything where the screen is in constant motion — this monitor will show you what you've been missing, and I mean that literally. There are details in fast motion that simply do not exist on slower panels because they're smeared into oblivion before your eye can catch them. On this screen, they exist. If you care about atmosphere — dark games, moody games, cinematic stuff — true blacks and HDR depth will pull you in deeper than you expect. And if you're like me and you just appreciate looking at a genuinely excellent image for hours at a time, the clarity and color will quietly improve everything you do, including the boring stuff. Even spreadsheets look dignified. I came into this a skeptic and I'm writing this review a convert. The speed is real, genuine, visible, feel-it-in-your-hands. Images are flawless: no tearing, no pixelation, no distortion of any kind, no matter how hard I've tried to provoke it. The blacks are truly black, the colors are alive, the clarity razor-sharp, and the bezel lights up as a free surprise. Buy it... seriously...

Upon opening the box, I was pleased to see that the HP Omen gaming monitor was packaged nicely, and everything was well organized. I was able to have the monitor set up on the stand, and plugged into my computer, in about 5 minutes. Included with the monitor, are a selection of display cables, to ensure that this monitor will work with your set up, no matter what type of port you use. I used the included HDMI cable. As for the stand, it is study, heavy, and I definitely felt like the screen was secure when installed. Putting everything together takes little to no time, but I did notice that removing the stand from the screen took far more effort. There is a button that has to be completely pushed in, while pulling the stand/pillar portion from the back of the screen. I tried this out, and I was surprised at how much effort I had to use, but eventually the pieces separated. You can also adjust the height of the monitor while on the stand. The 24.5” IPS monitor itself is well made, with a mostly black plastic build, and is not overly thick. This is not an ultra-thin gaming monitor, but since this will be on the stand, it doesn’t really matter to me how thick it is. It does weigh a decent amount, but thankfully, the stand and base are so robust that this is also not an issue. For testing, I used my PC to do things like browse the web, work on daily tasks like writing emails and using Microsoft office software, streaming videos on sites like Hulu and YouTube, and also played various games. For daily tasks, this monitor more than excels at making every activity enjoyable, with a bright, vivid picture, and clear definition of fine details. Even though the resolution is only FHD, the picture looks pretty incredible, which is no doubt helped by the stunning 360Hz refresh rate. Videos and live sports look great, and fast-moving shots never looked choppy thanks to the tech in the HP Omen monitor. When gaming, things really shine on this monitor. Playing modern titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Forza 6 on the HP Omen looked absolutely incredible, with detailed, accurate, and smooth visuals throughout my time testing this screen. Once again, being rated as FHD does not seem to impact the overall quality of the pictures produced by this device. Colors are rendered beautifully, and this monitor gets bright enough to work in any environment. I have been blown away with the HP Omen’s ability to produce accurate visuals, while maintaining smooth, fluid performance no matter how crazy the action gets on screen. HP has produced a great monitor for someone looking for a screen that can easily do it all. While the HP Omen excels at gaming, it’s also phenomenal for daily tasks and watching videos. I really can’t think of anything I would change, with only a small critique that it is a bit harder to remove the screen from the stand than it is to install it. Beyond that point, which is truly not a big deal, I think this is an awesome gaming monitor from HP. Best colors accuracy and quality of monitor is excellent

I’ve used a lot of monitors over the years, but this is my first experience with a 360Hz display, and I have to say—I came away seriously impressed. First Impressions The first thing that stood out was the packaging. HP did an outstanding job here. Not only is the monitor extremely well protected inside the retail box, but the shipping box is packed with plenty of padding as well. It’s one of the best-packaged monitors I’ve received, and I’d have a hard time imagining it being damaged during shipping. Once you take it out of the box, the build quality immediately stands out. For a 24.5-inch monitor, it’s surprisingly heavy, which gives it a premium feel. The flat weighted base is very stable, and the stand offers excellent ergonomics with height adjustment and a full 180-degree rotation, so you can easily switch between landscape and portrait orientation. For this review, I’m using the monitor with an HP Omen desktop featuring an Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics card, and 32GB of RAM. I am also using a display link cable because that is the only way you can unlock the full 360Hz. Display Quality This is a 1080p display, and honestly, that’s exactly what it should be at this size. At 24.5 inches, the image is incredibly sharp, and I never found myself wishing for a higher resolution. Everything looks crisp and detailed. The matte finish does a great job reducing reflections without making the image look dull. Black levels are surprisingly deep, the contrast is excellent, colors really pop, and viewing angles are much better than I expected. Brightness tops out at 400 nits, which is fairly standard. Sure, 500 or 600 nits would have been nice, especially for HDR content, but in everyday use I never found brightness to be an issue. The combination of brightness and contrast makes for a vibrant image. One area where HP really deserves credit is the factory color calibration. This is one of the most color-accurate monitors I’ve seen right out of the box. The colors are rich, vivid, and incredibly well-balanced without needing any tweaking. The monitor is also DisplayHDR 400 certified. HDR performance will always depend on the content, and while I personally don’t use HDR much for gaming, it’s implemented well and provides a nice improvement when supported. Gaming Performance This is where the monitor absolutely shines. The 360Hz refresh rate completely changes how games feel. It’s difficult to explain until you’ve experienced it yourself, but everything becomes noticeably smoother and more lifelike. Motion feels incredibly fluid, and I found myself becoming much more immersed in whatever I was playing. Whether it’s fast-paced shooters like Call of Duty: Warzone, action games like DOOM, RPGs like Fallout, racing games, or simulations, this monitor simply keeps up with everything. With my RTX 5070, I can run Call of Duty: Warzone on Extreme settings while maintaining 360 FPS. If you enable technologies like DLSS Frame Generation, it’s possible to push well beyond that—500 to 600 FPS depending on the game. The result is an experience that’s incredibly responsive without requiring you to lower graphics settings if you have a capable system. Omen Gaming Hub Software I also highly recommend installing HP’s Omen Gaming Hub software. It gives you access to virtually every monitor setting, including picture modes, RGB lighting, response time, adaptive sync, brightness, contrast, and performance overlays. The picture presets are especially useful. There are dedicated modes for first-person shooters, Cinema, sRGB for photo editing in applications like Photoshop and Lightroom, plus Native and Enhanced profiles that really let the panel show what it’s capable of. That flexibility makes this more than just a gaming monitor. It can easily handle creative work, media consumption, and everyday productivity just as well. Living with a 24.5-Inch Display I’ll admit this was an adjustment for me. I normally prefer much larger displays in the 38- to 40-inch range. But after spending time with this monitor, I completely understand why competitive gamers gravitate toward this size. Everything stays within your field of view, making it easier to stay focused on the action. Combined with the outstanding image quality and incredibly smooth 360Hz refresh rate, the smaller size quickly stopped bothering me. Instead, it actually helped me feel more connected to the games I was playing. Final Thoughts HP really knocked this one out of the park. The build quality is excellent, factory color calibration is among the best I’ve seen, image quality is fantastic, the Omen Gaming Hub software adds meaningful customization, and the 360Hz refresh rate delivers one of the smoothest gaming experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a competitive gaming monitor—or simply want one of the smoothest displays available—I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the HP Omen 24.5-inch 360Hz G-SYNC monitor. It’s an outstanding display and one that has genuinely exceeded my expectations

I have been playing video games since I was a teenager, back when I had to make with generic basic hardware. Now I am older and working as a software engineer, and fortunate enough to spend a little more on hardware that I want. The HP OMEN 25 is one of those purchases where I noticed the upgrade immediately. This is a 24.5-inch, 1080p IPS gaming monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time. Those numbers look great on paper, but the important thing is that you can actually feel the difference while playing. Everything responds faster, movement looks cleaner, and aiming feels much more connected. I play several online multiplayer games such as Call of Duty: Warzone, Fortnite, Battlefield and Helldivers 2. Warzone is probably where I noticed the biggest improvement. Turning quickly, tracking someone across the screen and reacting during close-range fights all feel smoother. Fast movement stays much clearer than it did on my previous monitor. I am not going to claim that a new monitor magically makes me a better player, but it definitely removes one more bottleneck. The 360Hz refresh rate is the main reason I bought this monitor. I have a powerful gaming computer and video card to push high frame rates, especially in demanding games. But if your system can deliver, the OMEN 25 feels incredibly responsive. I connected mine through DisplayPort and confirmed that Windows and my graphics settings were running it at 360Hz. That is worth checking because there is no point buying a monitor this fast and accidentally leaving it set to 60Hz or 144Hz. HP used an IPS panel instead of sacrificing image quality for speed, the colors look accurate and lively without appearing oversaturated. The monitor is factory calibrated, supports Display HDR 400 and covers 99.5 percent of the sRGB color space. Games like GTA Online Enhanced, Cyberpunk 2077 and Forza Horizon still look colorful and detailed, even though this monitor is clearly designed more for performance than cinematic 4K gaming. The 1080p resolution is a good match for what this monitor is trying to accomplish. At 24.5 inches, the picture still looks sharp from a normal desk distance, and 1080p makes it much easier for a powerful graphics card to reach very high frame rates. A larger 1440p or 4K monitor might be better for someone who mainly plays Microsoft Flight Simulator or slow-paced single-player games, but for competitive shooters, I would rather have the extra speed. G-SYNC compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium are also features I wanted. I use adaptive sync when I want the smoothest possible experience without visible tearing. When I am playing competitively and want the lowest possible latency, I can adjust the settings depending on the game. HP did a good job on the physical design. The stand feels solid and lets me adjust the height, tilt, swivel and screen rotation. As someone who also spends long hours at a computer, having the screen positioned correctly makes a real difference in comfort. The anti-glare surface also helps when I am using it during the day. There are several smaller features that I ended up appreciating more than expected. The built-in USB hub is useful for connecting accessories or wireless receivers. There are two HDMI ports, DisplayPort 1.4, an audio output, cable management and a removable headset hook. The customizable lighting on the back is a nice touch too. It is not something that improves performance, but it looks good with the rest of my setup and can be controlled through OMEN Gaming Hub. My only real caution is that this is a specialized monitor. Do not buy it just because 360Hz is the biggest number on the box. To get the full benefit, you need a gaming PC capable of producing high frame rates, and you should be someone who plays fast multiplayer games. If your priority is a huge screen, 4K resolution or the deepest possible HDR, there are better choices for that kind of experience. For the way I play, though, the OMEN 25 is exactly what I wanted. It is fast without having bad colors, compact enough for serious mouse-and-keyboard gaming, and adjustable enough to stay comfortable during long sessions. It feels like a premium piece of gaming hardware rather than a regular office display with a gaming logo stuck on it. I strongly recommend the HP OMEN 25 to competitive PC gamers, especially anyone who plays Call of Duty, Fortnite, VALORANT, Counter-Strike, Battlefield or similar high-speed games. It is one of the most noticeable upgrades I have made to my setup. I would buy it again, and definitely recommend it.

Overall, I've had a pretty good experience with this monitor. You can definitely tell it was designed with e-sports in mind - it's got a pretty quick response time and the refresh rate goes higher than I'm normally used to (which has made some of my games look *really* nice when in motion). I haven't noticed any smearing when things are moving fast, and the viewing angles are reasonable (which is nice since I'm rarely looking at my screen exactly on-center). I really appreciate that the color control for the RGB on the back works with Windows Dynamic Lighting since I'm a big fan of not having to configure the RGB in multiple places. The included USB hub works at a reasonable speed - I've connected my keyboard and mouse directly to the monitor and then hooked the monitor to a docking station to try it with my gaming laptop and didn't notice any particular loss in performance (though it should be noted that I don't make a career out of e-sports, so someone more into it than me might notice milliseconds of added latency). The colors and contrast are pretty great for a non-OLED. One thing to be aware of is that by default the monitor will connect at 1920x1080 resolution. This personally works fine for me, especially since one of the big things about this monitor is that the refresh rate is pretty high and most graphics cards tend to be better at either more frames or bigger frames rather than both, but it should be noted that the 3840x2160 resolution isn't in effect right out of the box. On a physical level, this is a pretty nice monitor. The materials feel solid, right down to the cables. The stand seems sturdy and doesn't wobble. It also has a full range of motion. You can adjust the height, the horizontal and vertical tilt, and you can rotate it all the way to portrait if you want. I also rather like the headphones hook you can clip onto either the left or right side of the monitor. The stand feels stable without having a gigantic foot, and the plastic used in making the frame overall feels nice to the touch. It doesn't feel cheap, and I don't feel like I'm going to break it if I pick the thing up and move it. I also like that the power button and menu navigation buttons are all separate, since I'm not really a fan of trying to navigate by fiddling with one button. I think this is a really solid choice of gaming monitor that will handle whatever kind of games you care to throw at it. If you tend to play mostly games where increased framerate doesn't matter, or if you intend to play games with mods to make them look as photorealistic as possible; I would say to skip this one as there are other monitors out there that would probably suit you better. But for every other use case, I'd say this is a fantastic e-sports monitor and a great all-rounder. I'd absolutely recommend this.

I picked up the HP OMEN 24.5" Full HD supporting 360Hz monitor because I wanted something built for competitive gaming and after using it daily, I can say it absolutely delivers on speed and clarity. This is a monitor made for people who care about performance more than anything else. I understand there have been a Hz race lately with the latest gaming monitors, you see support for 120, 240, 360 and up to 500 with some models. The standout feature of this monitor is undoubtedly the 360Hz refresh rate. From my experience it definitely delivers incredibly smooth motion, making it significantly easier to track targets in fast-paced titles such as CS2 and Valorant. While gaming, I can also confirm that it has an outstanding response time, transitions in gaming scenes remain perfectly clean with zero smearing or ghosting. I have a 2 year old model from a different brand and this new HP OMEN is the kind of upgrade that offers an immediate, tangible difference I felt right away. Furthermore, to be expected with modern monitors the inclusion of AdaptiveSync and G-SYNC support ensures everything remains perfectly stable. You won’t experience any strange stuttering or screen tearing, even during frame rate drops. It provides a level of consistency that budget high-Hz monitors simply cannot match. I was pretty pleased with learning that this HP Omen has been factory calibrated, so the colors are remarkably accurate right out of the box and the IPS panel provides excellent viewing angles. For a 1080p esports monitor, the overall image quality is surprisingly impressive in my opinion. While HDR 400 is not groundbreaking, it still adds a nice bit of pop to both videos and games. This monitor will feel like a major upgrade if you are transitioning from a standard 1080p display. Although if you are used to or experienced QHD or OLED screens, you will spot its shortcomings, those limitations are expected given the specific purpose of this display. As far as build quality, the design is clean and modern. The stand is sturdy and adjusts in every direction, which makes dialing in the perfect height easy. The RGB lighting on the back is subtle but adds a nice touch to the setup. I also appreciate the headphone hook, small detail, big convenience. The monitor feels well-built overall. Nothing cheap or flimsy about it at all. You get plenty of ports with this monitor: DisplayPort, HDMI, USB hub and a headphone jack. Everything works as expected. It also handles console input well thanks to 4K downscaling, which is a nice bonus. This HP OMEN monitor is exactly what I hoped it would be: fast, responsive, and reliable. While some people look for Quad-HD or 4K gaming monitors along with larger screen sizes, sometimes the cost-factor to get one that works extremely well can be a challenge. If getting a fast Full HD that is still smaller than a 27" is an option, then the HP OMEN - 24.5" FHD 360Hz G-SYNC & FreeSync Compatible Gaming Monitor, being even slightly bigger than a 24" class (which are mostly 23.9"), is a great choice! Getting it set up was easy. Just assemble the two stand pieces and snap it into mounting nodule on the back of the monitor. The included stand is fully adjustable, with height, swivel, tilt, rotate. One thing I was worried about when first seeing that mounting nodule firmly in place (no quick release for it) was that I wasn’t sure if it would be able to be mounted as a part of the triple monitor setup it is being a part of. No information was included in the quick setup guide. After finally finding the monitor on the HP support site and getting to the full User Guide, I was able to find that the mounting nodule bracket can be removed and a VESA mount can be connected to it, after rotating 45°. There is not much of a bezel for the top and sides, and maybe .5" on the bottom (like most high-end monitors lately). For inputs, there are two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4. It comes with one cable for each of the import types. It has a built-in USB hub with 2 Type-A ports (with 5Gbps signaling rate) and a Type-B port to connect to the computer (the Type-B USB cable is also included). And there is a 3.5mm headphone jack (but no built-in speakers). The is also a removeable headset hook that can be inserted on either side near the top. My biggest, well, only issue is the location and design of the control buttons. They are on the back, near the bottom right corner when looking at the front. There is separate power button on the right, with a D-Pad style menu control button just to the left. This issue is that they are just high enough to make it a little awkward to reach from the bottom when a part of a multiple-monitor setup when it is not the far-right monitor. At least the monitor settings (including the LED lighting on the back) can also be changed using the OMEN Gaming Hub app. Even though this is not a 4K monitor, everything looked great, from the background wallpaper to the details while gaming! The gameplay was extremely smooth, running native 360Hz (by the way, 360Hz is only supported with the DisplayPort connection with DSC, HDMI is only up to 235Hz) and all the highest graphics settings! On average, it was showing to be running at 600-700 fps. This is being used on a Radeon RX 9070 XT with 16GB, but any decent newer GPU should handle providing the content. The 1000:1 contrast ration with 5M:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 1ms response time are definitely helpful. Like most monitors these days, it does support Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync versions of Adaptive-Sync. If you are not needing a larger or 4K monitor, this one should be a top candidate on your list!

I've been using the HP Omen 24.5" FHD 360Hz gaming monitor for about a week, mostly playing Apex and Valorant with a little Counter-Strike 2 mixed in. My main display is usually a 27-inch QHD panel, so dropping back down to a 24.5-inch 1080p screen felt a little strange at first. After a few days though, it started to make sense. This isn't trying to be an all-around productivity monitor. It's very much built around competitive gaming first. Out of the box it has the same understated Omen design as HP's other gaming monitors. Nothing overly flashy from the front, with most of the gamer styling kept fairly subtle. It fits easily on a desk thanks to the smaller footprint, and if you're coming from a larger 27- or 32-inch monitor you'll probably appreciate how much space it frees up. The stand feels solid enough, although like most of my monitors I ended up moving it over to a monitor arm. VESA mounting was straightforward. Setup was about as easy as you'd expect. Connected it with DisplayPort, Windows immediately detected the full refresh rate, and after making sure it was actually running at 360Hz I was off. The on-screen menu is navigated with the rear buttons. They're usable, although I still wish HP would move to a joystick since digging through menus isn't quite as intuitive as it could be. Out of the box the brightness was set much higher than I normally use, so I backed that down and warmed up the color temperature slightly. After those adjustments, colors looked good for an IPS panel without feeling oversaturated. Gaming is obviously the reason you'd buy this monitor. If you're coming from 144Hz, the jump to 360Hz isn't nearly as dramatic as moving from 60Hz to 144Hz, but it's still noticeable if your PC can actually push those frame rates. Motion looks exceptionally clean, especially in fast shooters where you're constantly tracking moving targets or flicking between opponents. Whether that translates into better gameplay is going to depend more on your skill than the monitor, but everything simply feels a little more immediate. Input responsiveness never stood out to me because, honestly, that's exactly what you want. The monitor disappears and lets you focus on the game. The trade-off is resolution. At 24.5 inches, 1080p still looks reasonably sharp, but after spending a lot of time on QHD displays I definitely noticed the difference while browsing the web or doing development work. Text isn't bad by any means, just not quite as crisp. If your day is split between gaming and productivity, a higher-resolution display is still more comfortable. If your priority is squeezing every last frame out of competitive games, Full HD makes a lot more sense since it's easier for your GPU to sustain the frame rates needed to actually benefit from a 360Hz panel. I also spent some time watching videos and trying HDR, but like many gaming monitors in this class, HDR isn't really the selling point. It works, but I found myself switching it back off fairly quickly. SDR simply looked more consistent to my eyes, and without the higher-end backlighting needed for meaningful contrast improvements, HDR doesn't add much. Over the week I didn't run into any dead pixels, flickering, or strange behavior. It woke reliably from sleep, held onto my settings, and generally stayed out of the way, which is honestly what I want from a monitor. Would I recommend it? If competitive gaming is your primary focus, yes. The combination of a 24.5-inch IPS panel and 360Hz refresh rate makes a lot of sense for esports titles where frame rate and motion clarity matter more than resolution. If you mostly play single-player games or split your time between gaming and office work, I'd probably lean toward a 27-inch QHD display instead. You give up some refresh rate on paper, but the extra desktop space and sharper image are benefits you'll notice every day. The Omen 24.5" knows exactly what audience it's built for, and within that niche it does its job well.
