Good when it works
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yeah this pc is a beast when it isn't busted beyond repair. My 1st hp omen had a busted gpu that destroyed even the windows home screen, and now my second (i returned the first) isn't even powering on. Seriously HP? I spend 1k for a pc that doesn't even last 2 weeks? At least it killed its power supply before my return period was up. Get the warranty, you need it.

Works amazingly
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the pc and ive only had it for a few days!!! Its working perfectly and i usually dont play hardcore games at all but wanted to try it out. I would have givin it a lower star because of the overheating problem then i just figured out all i had to do was boost the fan speed and now it works perfectly!

Not worth the money.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disappointed in this. HP markets the Omen series as an enthusiast-level line. They'll comment on reviews and questions and say that you can upgrade anything and everything...which is true, to an extent. The good: It is a very clean looking system. The bad: Just about everything. You can upgrade the graphics card, but if your card is literally ANY thicker than a two-slot card (I mean a millimeter thicker), you're going to hit the 24-pin power connector which is inconveniently placed at the bottom of the motherboard - just under the PCIe slot. In an air conditioned 71-degree room, the system idles at 60+ degrees C. The little stock cooler is worthless and there's no way to water cool the system even though the motherboard has a pump header. There's no place to mount a radiator for an AIO. My other system idled in the mid-40s overclocked. I'd hate to do a stress test as it might melt. All over the listing and even the box itself, they made sure to note "XMP 3200" speed for the memory. That is false. There is no way to enable XMP. They even include a 3200 kit...that runs at 2133 and there's no way to change it (that I've found yet). For the price, it definitely carries a premium simply because it says "Omen" on the front of the case. I will be returning this system and going with something else.

Good starter PC but be prepared to upgrade parts
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer has served me well as a starter gaming and work PC, but has some drawbacks to keep in mind. I’ve had it since February. Pros: 1. Powerful Gpu that is difficult to purchase on its own at the moment. 2. Runs most games at high settings at least 60 FPS and 1080p. 3. Good price given current market. 4. I love the case and the ease of customizing the LEDs inside. Cons: 1. The Gpu is a very cheap version of the RTX 2060 with poor cooling and only one HDMI port and one Display Port. Still works well and stays cool enough, just not the best. 2. The thermals are awful and the CPU can get up too 100 C on full load. The stock cooler that is included is pretty poor. I ended up replacing it about a month after getting this PC with a beefier air cooler. The fans aren’t the best either. 3. BIOS are locked on the motherboard, and it’s a pretty cheap motherboard altogether with very few ports. I plan on doing a motherboard swap next. 4. Upgrading the RAM is possible, but RAM that is not HP brand will run slower than its designated clock speed. There are workarounds I have seen, but it requires some competence. 5. Small amount of SSD storage. I like this computer, and if you’re like me and aren’t a computer building expert, it’s a good buy. I’ve been having fun upgrading it slowly with a bigger SSD and a new cooler so far, and plan on slowly replacing everything and maybe even the case as time goes on. Very few problems with performance overall. Some examples of the performance I get on different games (all at 1080p). Red Dead Redemption 2: 80 FPS on balanced settings. Witcher 3: 90 FPS on maxed out settings. (Can go higher if you tweak settings a bit). Warzone: 90 FPS on pretty high settings.

hits the sweet spot on performance for the money
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.had this for a couple weeks now. been out of the PC desktop world for a few years. used to game a lot but life, career, and family took over. one of the kids started gaming and his laptop was just not up to the task. I had no idea of the current tech so did a little Googling with a budget in mind of about $1200 and picked this up. For the price and what it has it is a pretty good deal. Yes, now that I have done a bit more research I could have built one myself but knowing how my upgradeitus works I would have ended up blowing the budget out of the water. For $1200 this is a very fair price. I would have speced it a bit different like a 3600X instead of the 3700X and a 2060 Super instead of the older 2060 GPU but everything else is pretty close to what I would have built. It has 3200 memory and a 1/2 GB nvme drive with a 1TB mechanical drive which is spot on with what I wanted to do. The disappointments in this system are lack of expandability. There are no card slots open and only 2 memory slots which hold the 2x 8GB memory cards. The only expandability inside the case was an SATA connector which I used to connect an old 1.5TB drive i had sitting around for even more storage. The lights are pretty to look at and the 12 year old digs them. I am enjoying the rig also with a racing wheel to do Project Cars 2 and F1. This is a good machine. I will probably upgrade the graphics card down the road but for now we are getting at least 80FPS on just about all the newer titles with Ultra settings. Most games are well above 100FPS with CSGO doing closer to 300FPS. Last bit of advise is we had an old 60Hz panel we were using until yesterday when we picked up a 240Hz IPS. HUGE improvement with GSync tuned on. Was able to afford the new display because I did not blow the budget by building my own $1600 machine.

Great Quality Great Price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: +Great quality for a great price. All of my games run on ultra with a smooth 60 frames. +It's super easy to upgrade. There's a button in the back to open the case, no screwdrivers required. +The fans are really quiet. The noise doesn't take away from your gaming experience. +Perfect Plug and Play. Was able to take it out of the box and get it running within 20 minutes. +This is my first computer with an SSD. I love that it can boot up within 16 seconds. Cons: -Generic mouse and keyboard. They work but nothing fancy. I recommend buying a separate gaming mouse and keyboard. -The case is really big. I was able to carry my last PC around with one hand, I don't recommend doing that with this one. Make sure you read the dimensions.
