I recently upgraded to the HP OmniBook X Flip 2-in-1, and after using it for a few weeks, I can confidently say it's one of the best tech purchases I've ever made. This isn't just a laptop; it's an incredibly versatile tool that excels in every scenario.
Stunning Design and Display: The Meteor Silver finish is sleek, professional, and feels premium. The star of the show, without a doubt, is the 16-inch 2K touchscreen. The resolution is incredibly sharp, colors are vibrant, and the touch responsiveness is flawless. Whether I'm editing photos, watching movies, or just browsing the web, the visual experience is immersive and beautiful. The anti-reflective coating is also a huge plus, making it usable even in brightly lit rooms.
Unmatched Versatility: The 2-in-1 flip design is where this device truly shines. I use it in:
· Laptop mode for serious work and writing.
· Tent mode for watching shows or following a recipe in the kitchen.
· Tablet mode for reading, sketching, or browsing with a stylus (sold separately). This flexibility means it seamlessly adapts to my day, replacing both my old clunky laptop and my tablet.
The "Copilot+ PC" AI Experience: This is the future, and it's incredible. The integrated NPU (Neural Processing Unit) and Ryzen AI 5 work silently in the background to make everything smoother. Features like enhanced voice clarity on calls, automatic framing for video conferences, and the ability to easily access Windows Copilot make my workflow more efficient. It feels like I have a smart assistant built directly into the hardware, anticipating my needs and optimizing performance.
Impressive Performance: Don't let the slim design fool you—this machine is powerful. The AMD Ryzen AI 5 processor, coupled with 16GB of RAM, handles everything I throw at it with ease. From having dozens of browser tabs open while streaming music and working on a large document, to light photo editing, there is zero lag. The 512GB SSD is blazingly fast, booting up in seconds and launching applications instantly.
Battery Life is a Game-Changer: HP's claims are not exaggerated. I easily get a full day of use on a single charge, often with power to spare. For a student or professional who is constantly on the move, the freedom from constantly hunting for an outlet cannot be overstated.
The Little Things: The keyboard is comfortable and quiet for long typing sessions, the trackpad is large and accurate, and the audio from the dual speakers is surprisingly rich and clear for a laptop.
Final Verdict: The HP OmniBook X Flip is an excellent product that successfully checks every box:
· Gorgeous, versatile 2K touchscreen? ✅
· Powerful, efficient performance with next-gen AI? ✅
· All-day battery life? ✅
· Sleek, portable, and well-built? ✅
It is a premium, future-proof device that is perfect for professionals, students, creatives, and anyone who wants a single, do-it-all machine. Highly, highly recommended

The laptop provides great flexibility with its 2-in-1 feature and with a 16 inch screen and excellent hd display. The keyboard has good click and the speakers are okay. Also the battery life is pretty good. The only drawback is the weight being about 4 pounds. But overall great laptop.

The HP OmniBook X 16" with 16GB RAM and the Ryzen AI chip is an excellent choice for school. It’s fast, efficient, and handles multitasking with ease, whether you’re running multiple tabs, editing documents, or streaming lectures. The large display makes studying and creative work comfortable, while its slim design and solid battery life make it convenient to carry around campus. A great blend of performance, portability, and value for students.

It's been 8 years since I bought a new laptop. And still HP does well with design, screen and affordability. The display is top notch with 2k touch screen and able to fold it 360 degree. I also like the camera and you have shutter to close or open it. Keyboard keys are slightly big but I'm used to it now and it's an AI powered laptop, so it makes your daily tasks easy to complete with less effort using separate Copilot button. AMD Ryzen perform very well as I expected. With this processor I am able to play some casual games, but not recommended for gamers. Overall I really like this laptop and under $500 it's definitely value for money.

The best 2 in 1 flip experience from the most reliable laptop brand names out there. This laptop has served me as a productivity master piece. The 2 in 1 makes it so that I don’t have to consider getting a tablet as this more than enough makes up for it.
I have been consistently using it for graphics design with a Metapen 2 which works with 4092 pressure points.
My daily productivity and university tasks requiring AI were handled smoothly so definite packed on the processor side.
The poly studio speakers are something that I can’t complain about at this price point as it more than makes up enough for its price, should definitely consider playing around with an equalizer as they are decent for music and movies. The laptop is on the heavier side for something so thin but it is to be expected at this level of engineering. The display albeit being an IPS panel does a very good job representing the colors accurately, the only drawback is missing the deep blacks of an OLED, but at this price point this the best built 2 in 1 laptop.

The HP Omnibook X Flip has amazing built quality, battery life, and display quality. What I dislike is the weight of the laptop. The Laptop stays cool under heavy loads of tasks such as keeping muliple tabs and browsers open, Word Documents, and other applications.

I ordered this laptop from Best Buy online after comparing its specs and price with similar options. I needed a high-performance machine with plenty of RAM, a powerful processor, and a good-quality display—and this laptop delivers on all fronts. The 16GB RAM and fast Ryzen processor handle everything smoothly, from browsing with multiple tabs to running several apps at once.
I’ve been using it for over a week now and I’m very satisfied with the overall performance. The touchscreen is also very responsive, and I really enjoy using it. The only downside is the battery life—it works fine but could definitely last longer.

For the (sale) price, and the trade in I had that went toward it, I am absolutely stoked with this laptop. It runs great, but if I was to complain about a couple things it would be the bloatware (which is all removable) and the Windows Hello camera is slower and less accurate than my old Surface Laptop 3. Small complaints. Gaming is fine if you’re into Stardew Valley or games of the like, but I wouldn’t push it. Display is a little less vibrant that I was expecting, but you can tweak that in color management to help out a bit.
All around, still a decent PC to assist me with my day to day.

I’m very happy with this laptop! The performance is fast and smooth, and the 2-in-1 flip design is super convenient for both work and entertainment. The screen is bright and clear, and the battery life lasts for many hours. The AMD Ryzen processor runs quietly and efficiently. It’s lightweight but feels solid and well-built. Overall, a great value for the price — highly recommended!

This laptop has been awesome so far! My wife uses it daily for work, and she absolutely loves how fast it runs and how easy the setup was right out of the box. The screen is bright and clear, the keyboard feels comfortable, and battery life easily lasts through her entire workday. Great value and performance — highly recommend!

Pros:
- Good for general work
- Large screen with decent quality
- Performance is fair
- handles basic tasks well
Cons:
- The laptop gets stuck in "tablet mode" taskbar forever, and there's no way to fix it (not that I know of). The only band-aid fix for this is to check off "Optimize taskbar for touch interactions when this device is used as a tablet" in settings, so you can never get the tablet taskbar again unless you check the option back on. (So what this means is you only get 2 options for your taskbar overlay for your "2-in-1" laptop: Windows 11 desktop taskbar or Tablet Windows taskbar, no in between, no changing taskbar setups automatically when you actually want to go into tablet mode, just one or the other). Additionally, it never automatically adjusts the orientation of the screen anymore, which wasn't a problem in the beginning; this is a big issue when you want to use it as a tablet. Apparently, there's supposed to be an option to disable "rotation lock," but there is literally no option for that to be found.
- Keyboard is horrific to use (but you'll eventually get used to it)
- The little padding at the bottom of the keyboard will create permanent scratches/marks on your screen. (circled in red in picture)
Conclusion:
Not worth the base price of $800; the maximum you should spend on it is $500 on sale, plus you will run into a lot of issues if you want to use this laptop as a tablet. Even at the price of $500, it's still not getting what you paid for when half the features break or just don't work.

Got it for a great deal when it was marked down during Black Friday; Further marked down because it was an open-box item. The laptop has worked without a hitch for university level workloads. Laptop ran without a hitch running MATLAB and Keysight ADS circuit software, all while listening to Spotify and having a few browser tabs open. I think most people that aren't expecting professional-grade performance will be more than happy with the Ryzen 6-core and 16 GB of RAM. While you may be able to find some more budget-oriented laptops for $100-150 cheaper with similarly performing specs, the jump in build and screen quality is a worthwhile upgrade.
My only concern for the laptop is the implementation of AI features. As far as my understanding goes, the neural processing unit (NPU) is used for some extraneous tasks like blurring your background in a video call or creating closed captions. I ended up disabling the NPU in task manager, freeing up over 1 GB of reserved RAM. Given that the RAM is not upgradable, the NPU coupled with Windows 11 tend to drift into the >80% usage region in task manager.
No laptop is perfect, but this laptop performs very well for the money. I would recommend this laptop if you're a student or someone that just wants a nice Windows laptop for everyday tasks with a little more oomph on reserve.

It’s a pretty good laptop. Very good size. Runs well but when your running a big application it starts to heat up and sound like a PlayStation4 getting ready for takeoff.

It's the best laptop I've ever had, very fast, excellent resolution, very useful copilot agent and AI, and its price is well below what it should cost.

Love it! Very smooth and can tell high quality. The touchpad is not too sensitive and works great. Battery is long-lasting. Also awesome area for hands to rest while typing. Like it better than the other brand laptops we have. Works great.

The HP Omnibook had the specs I needed for the right price. It's been a few years since my last laptop. So far, it has exceeded my expectations. The monitor size is impressive and really makes work much easier. My only real complaint is the ThinkPad. There is nothing wrong with the design, I just don't like ThinkPads. All of that said, I think this will serve me well in business and personal endeavors. I'm a happy customer.
