Ordered laptop to replace my home unit, used primarily for emails and updating my personal web site. I bought this unit because of the larger screen, decent sized hard drive and good amount of memory. The laptop was delivered quickly and was well packaged in a unique package - shrink wrapped to the inside of a box. The laptop came with no user paperwork or any of the other useless (in my opinion) garbage-ware ads and "out of box experience" stuff that new computers come with. That is a plus, most people are not unwrapping their first pc... The pc fired right up, the battery was not charged, so I had to set it up with the power adapter plugged in - no problem there. I am very pleased with the performance of the machine - even with windows 8, which I have no previous experience using. The wireless card needed to have a firmware upgrade, and once I did that the pc flies on my wireless n network. THe display is large and bright , and the speakers are decent quality. The volume allows you to play audio loud enough to overcome ambient room noise - Battery life is good - I can run it for over three hours and the pc has never gotten to the point where I was thinking about needing a charge, even using the wireless. The touch pad is offset to the left, and that causes me to have my hands on the right side of the pad. There is an annoying windows 8 feature that pops up some sort of launch screen the first time I touch the touchpad if I touch it on the far right side. I am just learning to keep my fingers further to the left than I am used to, but I attribute this issue more to Windows 8 operational functions than a problem with the laptop. I also note the touchpad has a texture, a feature I am not accustomed to. Not a problem, just something worth noting. All in all - if you just need a laptop for your web surfing, emails, light office work (excel, word etc...), and even some graphics work, this is a great way to get a deal . The Best Buy folks seem to have done a good job on this laptop, and I have no problems that are related to the PC in the month I have been using it.

Good value for open box. Big screen but not heavy.

This was a gift for my son. He uses it daily for graphic design, video editing and the laptop is able to keep up. A great deal for the price.

Lousy Windows 8. Unusable user interface. Ballmer should be fired! I'm having my son unload 8 and load 7. Otherwise, this is a good machine.

As soon as I turned it on there was a bunch of programs trying to crawl into it thru the back door. I had to take it to the local store and they couldn't fix it either. I had to swap it and some more money to get a new one. Trouble was tho, It also had Windows 8 but I got it working now because I am using Safari and it is working very nicely

I do not like Windows 8, windows is trying to be a smart phone
