Dead after 12 days
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After opening and setting it up our new HP all-in-one completely died. I am now waiting on a box to send it back to the company. I purchased the all-in-one to use for school work and to work from home. Now we are left with just tablets. I am very unhappy.

Bad customer service and overall experience
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The worst best buy that i have been to. I sent in my computer for repairs of a little crack on the screen with the GEE squad or whatever they call themselves. The computer was working fine and just thought they could fix the screen. They junk my computer without informing me or saving my files and gave me a credit that cannot buy me a new computer. The information has to do with medical information required to keep someone living and others formaintenance. A whole lot of important information including FBI files needed for an ongoing investigation. My lawyer will take the case for damages. Such a horrible experience and all done with an attitude. Imitation is Highest Form of Flattery?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, I can definitely say this HP Pavilion 27” Touch-Screen - All-in-One - Intel Core i7 - 12GB Memory - 256GB SSD computer, is an impressive looking machine. A stylish, modern, piece of technology, with clean lines and some really nice features. However, I am very reminded of another well-known company whose products I also own. When looking at this computer I definitely see a resemblance, not only in the monitor itself, but the peripherals, as well. That being said, it’s the performance of this particular computer I will be assessing. I really do wish the Solid State Drive had a larger storage capacity. For this type of machine, a computer you’d expect to own for several years before needing a new PC or upgrade, and most especially given it’s retail price, 256GB just doesn’t cut it. You shouldn’t have to supplement your computer’s storage with an external HD, and some people may need to do that if what this HP Pavilion comes with isn’t enough. But, based on my own personal experience with both a traditional hard drive and SSDs, I will say there is a noticeable difference in speed between the two of them. PCs having a solid state drive just seem to perform tasks faster. This includes basic computing such as surfing the web, loading webpages, running programs, downloading and installing updates and software and video games, logging into video games and transitioning between loading screens, etc. These are very good things indeed. Having 12GB of RAM is a definite plus. It’s always desirable to have more memory for computing, along with a good processor, and the hexa-core Intel Core i7 should be. There should be enough ports for everyone - 2 USB-3 ports, 1 USB-3 charging port, 2 USB Type-C ports, 2 HDMI (in and out) ports, Memory card reader, Ethernet port, with the Headphone jack conveniently placed being the farthest one on the end (the right-hand side looking at the front of the computer, left-most one when looking at the back). Personally I found the 3 buttons on the right side edge of the monitor - Menu display, browse up / down - to be redundant and forgettable. I’d just never use them. I really do like the texturized fabric type material on the front lower panel which houses the Bang & Olufsen speakers. This gives the entire monitor a more expensive feel. As for how the speakers perform - you can definitely hear the stereo sound, but to be truthful, it’s not all that impressive, more on the average side. Still they do the job well enough, though with a monitor this size, for watching movies or other video content, adding an external speaker might be preferable. The picture quality of this HP Pavilion’s 27” monitor is nice and bright, however the HD resolution didn’t appear as crisp and clear as I would have expected. You really get the most out of the screen, visually speaking, with the picture going to nearly the very edge, reminiscent of the higher-end flat screen TVs. Although I’m not a fan of touch-screens for computers, I’m not opposed to them either. I’m just more comfortable using a mouse. I found that swiping up and down and across the display, and tap-touching ‘virtual buttons’ required the lightest pressure. The screen was responsive, allowing me to navigate between windows quickly; the touch gestures intuitive, similar to those I’m familiar with when using my tablet. An unusual feature, but certainly useful for those concerned about privacy issues and safety for children who may have access to the family computer, is the placement of the webcam. When not wanted to be visible or when not being used, the webcam can be tucked away by gently pushing it down behind the top edge of the monitor. Once needed again, you just gently slide it back up in place. It does look and feel kinda cheap, tacked on there. But as long as you are careful handling the sliding camera fixture, as the instructions do caution about, the webcam shouldn’t break. The camera works as intended, though the quality of picture is severely lacking, and I found it to be quite pixelated. Not up to par with what you would imagine this type of All-in-One PC should offer. Improvement should be made here. Something that could prove to be a potential “Con” is the pedestal bar that the actual all-in-one computer sits on which is attached to the thin brushed metal base. This part does seem a bit flimsy, perhaps not sturdy enough to feel secure, and when moving it around, there is a concern as it was indeed somewhat wobbly. I still do miss not having a CD/DVD drive, as this computer doesn’t have one. This is a standard trend these days and will continue to be so going forward with regards to PC and laptop design. With the “Cloud” and digital media being the way of the future, and the future being now, I don’t expect this to change. Of course, you are able to buy and make use of a peripheral CD/DVD device if you so choose, but to me it’s just not as convenient. Less isn’t always more, any more than more is. Devices becoming ‘lighter’ may be preferable to some, but form shouldn’t ever come at the cost of functionality. Overall though, I’ll say it again, this HP Pavilion 27” All-in-One Touch-Screen desktop computer, is a nice machine, functional and lovely to look at. If you prefer the all-in-one type of PC, and have use of the touch-screen feature, and like the bigger monitors, and can afford the cost, then this computer may fit your wants and needs and be just what you’re looking for. But honestly, there are other options out there where you can get more bang for your buck, which is why I’m tentatively recommending this computer, but with reservations.

WOW! Great Screen - Great Speed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.LOVE the giant screen and the speed of this computer. I also like the web camera that is hidden at first. You have to slide the camera up behind the monitor. At first I wasn't sure this was a good feature but I totally love that you can hive the camera when not in use. i7 processor is super fast. This boots up super quick. And the monitor is an absolute joy to use. It is touch screen... my kids really like that feature. And it is BIG. The soundbar underneath is great, puts out super sound. I also like the wireless keyboard and mouse.

Broken Computer
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DONT BUY This computer just died on me. I bought this a year ago and I guess the warranty was timed just right! No help from customer service they said I’m a week out of warranty. They want me to pay $400 to repair the computer they haven’t even seen. This was my first and last HP product that I would ever buy again. I’m completely disappointed!!!

Good Casual Use Family Computer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup out of the box was very easy and then you have to go through your typical windows setup. My only complaint is the lack of storage at 256GB, but there are plenty of ports for other storage options. This machine runs smoothly and the screen is huge with decent resolution. Great system for casual family use in the home.

good for what it is
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.well I must say, they have come a long way with intel graphics cards now. this all in one is very nice. screen can be seen from all angles. very nice having a SSD with the os on it. takes a few seconds to boot up. about 5 seconds if that to get to your screen to type in password etc. then another 5 seconds to be up and running on desktop. even with a few apps that you might want to start up, start up pretty fast as well. has 12 gigs of ram which is also a nice touch. some of that is shared with the graphics card as the graphics card downside is that it is only a 128 mb vram. has a i7 8700t so you can boost it when needed. the screen is 27" and pretty thin except towards the bottom where all the hardware is at. speakers are pretty decent for being what it is. has a slide up and down webcam that is a nice touch as well and touchscreen. the monitor is nice and you can plug a device in and use the monitor that way as well. overall again nice for being an all in one. a few things on why a 4 star. I feel the price is steep for what you get. can find gaming laptops with better specs for gaming in the range. or even a decent desktop that you can even game on. the hard drive is nice being a ssd with the os. but I would have liked to see a bigger hard drive or be able to have a second drive that is a regular hdd or something. 256 will fill up fast. granted this is not for gaming on. the keyboard and mouse is ok but small and feels very cheap. and being that this is a Bluetooth, why not some how make a keyboard and mouse that can use that instead of using up a usb port. and all the ports are on the back. again though, main reason on a 4 star is just the price. yeah you are paying for convenience. but you can get a better gaming laptop, or a decent gaming desktop that is better then this with a monitor. and being how big this is, your not going to be moving this around much. do I recommend. well if you don't have room at all for a desktop pc or even a laptop but still want a decent pc then sure. but if you do have room to put a desktop on the ground and place a monitor on the desk or room for a laptop then honestly I would say go that route and get a better system. even if you don't game you still can find a nicer system for the same price or a cheaper system with the same specs and save money and then you can upgrade things like get a bigger hard drive or a secondary, or better mouse and keyboard or maybe even a nicer monitor etc.

Nice AIO, Port Placement Not so great,
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd AIO. Right out of the box its plug and play. No putting anything together. However for the price it could stand to have a larger SSD, 256GB is just not enough for some. Placement of the ports and power button is not situated so well. I like to listen to my headphones when working on computer but the plug is in the back. Power Button is tiney button on the left side of the system and not the easiest to press. I kind of like the pop up camera, it looks kind of cheap though, however the speed of this system is very fast. I liked the Windows Hello face recognition login on my last AIO, but this one does not include the feature, overall very good system
