Good But With Some Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I really like this computer, but there are some issues with it, although I'm not sure it is the computer itself or Windows 10 or some combination. First off, it comes with McAfee preloaded, which I hate. The description says Kaspersky, which you get as a free download trial... but since you cannot use two different antivirus softwares at the same time I don't understand the point. I have used Kaspersky for years, and have a subscription, so I had to go through the awful, tedious process of removing McAfee and transferring my Kaspersky onto the new machine. There are also a bunch of "extras" preloaded -- Xbox, Amazon, Netflix, Travelocity, which I had no interest in but there is no way of deleting them like a standard program (called apps now, not programs). A few I did finally get rid of, but some I just have to live with. They don't take up much memory, but it just irritates me that Microsoft forces this junk on the consumer. I then spent three days loading all my programs and picking through the mountain of Windows 10 settings to get the machine set up the way I wanted. Windows 10 is Big Brother -- it wants to know everything you do so it can "make your web browsing better." You can turn all of those things off once you find them in the settings. What a pain! Finally, after three days I thought I was ready to go, but then for some reason I could get not internet connection, even though it was clearly displaying my active internet access. After trying everything I could think of to fix the problem I decided it was beyond me. It finally came down to a choice between taking the brand new three day old system into the shop to have a professional figure out the problem or resetting the whole system back to factory settings. I chose to reset, so three days work was wasted and I was back at square one starting all over again! The second time went much quicker, though, as I was familiar with the settings, so it only took a day to get back up and running. Once running smoothly I found that I mostly really like Windows 10. Not crazy about the tiles in the start menu, but I put everything I use regularly on my desktop. I especially like the backup feature that let's you set up an automated backup of your files and settings to an external drive. I used Carbonite for years, but this is a much better, quicker way to do it. BUT, I have had several instances where my system won't reboot from sleep. I finally discovered that if I actually unplug it and plug it back in it reboots fine. But it is annoying and certainly not supposed to happen. There have also been a few critical errors or crashes that have forced the system to reboot. Luckily I haven't lost anything. These issues are likely Windows 10 more than the computer itself, and hopefully MS will get them fixed with future updates. So overall I really like this set up. Just be aware that there are some possible problems.

Good computer to upgrade to.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My only problem so far is that the unit does not have an HDMI port like the pictures show. I bought an HD monitor just for this unit and can't use the best method to connect it.

Great Desktop! Fast! Great processor!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast desktop! I previously owned a Dell XPS series till today. I got to admit I was not sure of this computer at first due to the price being really affordable but I purchased it and gave it a shot. It's really fast for web browsing and it uploaded my 267GB DATA from my external hard drive quickly without impacting the speed, its working like a charm. Even my Fruity Loops (Music Making Software) worked better on this PC than it did on my old Dell XPS which I paid over a grand for!!! I highly reccomend!!!!

It's quiet but underpowered
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will try to be fair with pros and cons. Pros... comes with a decent keyboard. Mouse is extremely basic, but out of the box, you can use it immediately. It is extremely quiet- almost silent. Power button is on top, which is nice, and the case is very stylish. Price is very approachable, especially since OS is pre-installed - Win10 ($100 value). On board graphics is very fair for what the box is designed to do. I don't play graphics intense games but you will find me on League of Legends. Mediums CD drive is vertical, which I am not a fan of, but it does add to the sleek design Cons Not upgradeable. It feels underpowered, but I am a pretty heavy duty user - multiple tabs, music, video, application switching, etc. I don't do video editing, but I will often do photo editing. Overall, it's a decent computer in the price range. For the average computer user, it will do what you need, but it's like a 4-cylinder engine when I need a v6 or better.

Not up to expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel a little disappointed with this purchase. The specs don't specify what type of A8 processor it included, but it came with one that is a bit old and not as powerful as the recent A8's. Also, picture shows HDMI port, but there is none, so I recommend that an accurate picture should be in place. Everything else is great- built in wireless networking and Bluetooth, also Windows 10 still has some bugs but I expect that to go away with a few updates after a week or two. The price was not bad at all, so it's still a bargain, but I would not recommend this for someone looking for a more powerful desktop.

Very happy with the PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My PC's power died suddenly and I was a little panicky. The way the power unit was welded in, there was no way I was going to salvage it and I need a PC for work from home duties. My luck was that it happened on a Friday so I had the weekend. I did some research and went to the usual places before I came to Best Buy. I liked that the range of ratings for this PC plus it was a really good price. I didn't expect much. I just wanted a working PC but this purchase is one that I am very happy with. The PC was easy to power up. I like that it was a very manageable weight. I like the silver matte front so I don't see smudges. Everything came on easily. All in all, it turned out to be a blessing.

Decent Product for the Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Average specs, good hardware name brand. the processor speed could be better, but not worth paying an extra 150-200 dollars for it. Picture shows HDMI input, however, it actually doesn't have that input on the unit? Beware of this if you are an online buyer.

Cheaply made with a flimsy DVD drive
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one of these with 8 GB of Memory and a 1 TB hard drive for my daughter to work from home with. The original cost was well over $600 and it was on sale for $399. When I went to install it for her and get it on the internet, I found it is very cheaply made. Almost no information with it other than a tiny pamphlet. The DVD drive cover was partially off when I opened the box and the drive itself is so cheaply made I was afraid I would break it just making the recovery discs. I have been an HP customer for many years using their test gear, printers, faxes, and PC's. They were high quality product. This PC is pathetic as far as quality. I would not recommend it to anyone at any price.

Not a gaming PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice computer, but if you plan to use this for gaming think again. It's good for office work, email, using the internet, but that's about it. You can not upgrade this computer except for the RAM, this is basically a laptop in a desktop case. Do your research first before you buy it.

Nice Basic Computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this computer for my Dad's 60th birthday. It was replacing an old Dell. He loves it. Very easy setup. Only took me about 10 minutes. Has enough power for the basic usage he required. No complaints.

Good value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my elderly relative and it's been a good, solid workhorse. Nothing fancy and limited options, but a good value and choice for an inexpensive, good desktop.

What is pictured, is not what I received...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What is pictured, is not what I received... The system operates fine, I was able to set up, configure and operate with no problems. The issue is this. Looking at the back of the computer, I have a power supply built into a cord with a small plug in power adapter, rather than a built in power supply. The expansion slots are permanently blocked, so you cannot add hard drives...

I love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had this computer for a few months now. I read the reviews and also looked at more computers at the same price. Looking for a low price computer that is up to date was hard but I find it on BestBuy. Some reviews say it a loud computer, but the ONLY time I really heard it run hard is when there is a disc in it. Which is common with most computers. Other then that it very quiet. Runs smooth, start up settings are very easy and it also can connect to the wifi has Bluetooth and many more. My boyfriend is planning on getting this computer in the future! But overall it a awesome computer.
