Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Pavilion Desktop's speed and performance, largely attributed to its SSD drive. Many appreciate its ease of use, compact size, and quiet operation, finding it to be a great value for the price. However, some users express concern about the limitations of the power supply, suggesting potential upgrade challenges. The included memory was sufficient for some, while others felt it could have been more substantial.

Awesome computer for the price and specs

When on sale for $499, this HP TP01-0034 computer is an awesome deal for a desktop with an Intel i7 CPU. This computer is very fast out of the box. The included 8GB memory (Samsung, Model # M378A1K43DB2-CTD) and 256GB solid state drive (SK Hynix, model # HFM256GDJTNG-8310A) was not enough for my needs so I had to separately buy and install my own 2TB internal hard drive and 16GB memory. The upgrades were easy to install and worth it to add more file storage and memory to my new computer. I added the Western Digital 2TB Black internal hard drive (model # WD2003FZEX) and I added the Samsung 16GB memory (model # M378A2K43CB1-CTD). Now my new computer is lighting fast with the i7 CPU, 24GB memory, 256GB SSD and 2TB HDD. All of the Windows system files and installed program files are on the SSD and my data files are stored on the HDD. For me this computer was perfect for the price since I am not having to waste any hardware with what I needed to add (not replace) since it only has two slots for memory and one bay for an internal 3.5” hard drive. This computer does everything and more except high end gaming. You will have to replace the power supply if you want to add a more powerful graphics card if you want to make this a gaming computer. HP has 18 videos online on how to remove and add the internal components for the TP01-0034 computer @ https://supportvideos.ext.hp.com/detail/video/6074300588001/how-to-replace-the-front-bezel-for-hp-pavilion-desktop-tp01-000?q=TP01-000 Pros: 1) The HP TP01-0034 computer is a great deal when on sale for $499. 2) The Intel i7 CPU is very fast, has 6 cores and 12 threads for processing. (i7 CPU costs almost $400 by itself). 3) The solid state drive is fast. My computer cold boots onto my Windows logon screen in 12 seconds. 4) 8 USB type A ports and 1 USB type C port. 5) Very easy to add and install additional memory and an internal hard drive. 6) Very quite. You cannot hear the fans or hardware running on this computer. 7) Very cool running. This computer does not even get warm nor does it output warm air. 8) Silver case and design is very stylish and it is not as large as the older computers used to be. 9) Comes with 8 extra screws for installing an internal SATA hard drive and also includes an extra SATA power cable. Cons: 1) The CD/DVD drive is vertical, the disk drawer is flimsy and you have to snap the disk on/off the spindle. 2) The keyboard is way too small. The older HP keyboards were just the right size to comfortably use. 3) Only the 4 front USB ports are USB 3.1, the 4 rear USB ports are the slower USB 2.0. That makes no sense. 4) Integrated graphics 5) The power supply is only 180 watts. The pros clearly outweighed the cons for me. The HP TP01-0034 desktop is a great computer, especially for $499. Best Buy also had the HP 27f 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor (model # 2XN62AA#ABA) on sale for $109 and this computer easily displays 4K video in full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution at 60Hz with this monitor. Together, the HP 2XN62AA#ABA monitor and HP TP01-0034 computer is an awesome combination for the price. I included some pictures of my HP TP01-0034 computer showing the back panel with all the rear ports, the inside of my computer after I installed my 2TB hard drive and after I installed my additional 16GB of memory. I hope that my review helps you.

Been a Mac user for 15+ years while editing thousands of images using Lightroom and Photoshop. I still use my 2017 MacBook Pro for travel editing but need a crazy fast desktop without paying an arm and a leg. This one fit the bill. I bought another 8GB of RAM for $30 and a fast 500GB Internal SSD for another $60 and it screams with the onboard 256GB M.2 drive. I have a 27in 4K monitor attached and the built in i7 630 graphics has no issue displaying full 4K. Caveat: this comes with a very small power supply - 180Watt. If you plan on making it a gaming rig, you’ll need to spend another $200 for an external ITX GPU and 300W+ power supply. I plan to do that in the near future so I can run dual 4K monitors and game on it. Am quite pleased with the deal I got and recommend this PC.

Great price for an I7! Works great and keeps up with Facebook games. Very fast! Although I want to say that they sure don't make computer's like they use to! Very light, power supply is very small so not sure if it can be replaced or not. I like that it is lighter, so much easier to handle.

This system is great for anyone looking for a home or office pc to do the typical day to day task like browsing the web or the typical office type applications. The i7 processor combined with the Solid state hard drive make this one fast PC. There is plenty of room to add an additional hard drive if you would rather keep your files locally vs storing them in the cloud. The included on-board video capabilities are plenty good enough for the vast majority of people and applications. Due to the limited capacity of the power supply I would not recommend trying to turn this pc into a gaming platform by adding a high performance video card. There are lots of USB ports on both the front and back as well as audio jacks to connect external speakers.

I caught this on super sale for Black Friday for 499. I am replacing a Dell i3 processor with regular hard drive. This thing is a monster by comparison. Solid state hard drive is the way to go, hands down. Its blistering fast. Plenty of room for upgrades, but it doesn't need much for hardcore gaming. You would need to add a better power supply, external hard drive, and graphics card and you would be able to game with the best of them...This was an incredible bargain at 499 but is also a fair price at regular price

I put off replacing my old computer with Windows 7 as I thought Windows 10 would be hard to get used to using. I was so wrong. This computer is so quick that I can't believe the different. I have always been a fan of HP and Intel. It was a great buy and I'm am more than happy. I also really like the Geek Squad and they did a great job setting up my old documents. I replaced my wife's computer back in Feb 2019 so my one year contact with Geek Squad covered this computer. PREFECT. I have used Geek Squad to install a new HDTV in our house and they also did a great job with that. LOVE Best Buy.

Had high expectations of this desktop because of the high end processor, solid state drive, and upgradability. Great deal for $500, on sale. The 8GB of RAM that came with this system was in a single stick, so added a second 8GB stick. Added a 1TB hard drive. I have done both types of upgrades on previous systems; but these were very easy on this system, especially given YouTube videos that walk you through the steps. Both upgrades were on sale and resulted in a system that performs quite well after 1 month and should meet family needs for years to come, all for about $600.

Easy to setup and get running, just used HDMI cable to my Visio TV and solid state drive provides very quick boot up times. The speed is nice and after 3 weeks I am very satisfied with this purchase. No instructions came with this unit and all needed help is included on HPs online help if needed. There is some bloatware included w/ windows 10, but that is what HP is pushing and is expected. Overall I would say it was a Best Buy for me.

I decided to upgrade to this after my original HP Envy 360 laptop just couldn't keep up anymore. I installed Photoshop and Lightroom as soon as it was booted up and they both run like a breeze. I ran Sims 3 on the higest settings and it handled it pretty well. I'll probably upgrade the RAM and use the external harddrive I have already just to give it a boost. But this computer is a little beast and you can't beat the Black Friday price!

I purchased this desktop to replace an old Intel Core i5 Thinkcentre. I like the extremely fast performance of this desktop. The desktop itself is extremely light weight and slides on my desk when I depress the on/off button which is almost even with the face of the front cover. I dislike the size and feel of the mouse and keyboard, which are too small for my large hands. I tried using another keyboard and mouse, but strangely, they do not work properly with this desktop! Considering the price one pays for this desktop, HP should provide a better keyboard and mouse.

Case isn’t much but I wanted something to run Ubuntu on and was gonna pick up an i3 but this was on sale so I grabbed it. Not much for expansion but I put a spare hard drive and a sad in with a sound card. Forget about upgrading a gpu because the power supply isn’t great and looks proprietary. Overall it was a good bang for the buck but a Dell would have been on my radar if I needed to have more flexibility. The bios doesn’t feature anything for the tweeker.

I bought this to replace an aging I3 PC that I use for my home automation, video server and disk to disk backup of my NAS. It has 6 cores running 12 threads. The M.2 drive is a little on the smaller side at 256 MB, but I added additional hard drives that I had on hand to beef the storage. It is super quiet, they use oversized fans running at a slower speed. This PC has basic upgradability, where a person could realistically add additional hard drives or more RAM - which only should be required for a power user. The typical user should be more than satisfied with the out of the box experience.

This is a terrific computer, at least for basic purposes, at a great price. It is quiet, fast, and does what it should, seemingly effortlessly. Admittedly, we don't ask that much from it as we are not gamers, and don't use it for any complicated business useage. Did I mention it is silent? It is. No hard drive, just a solid state drive.

This was a great buy for the price of $499.99 for an Intel I7. Very fast with an 8gb memory and 256gb SSD drive. Hard drive is small but later on I could upgrade to 1TB SSD drive for. I have looked around for a desktop Intel I7 and I could not find anything lower than this one. Computer case is not an old style.

Purchased for several clients. The price at the time was the best I could find anywhere. The speed of this machine will keep my clients happy for many years to come. SSD, RAM, Core i7.... Not a gamer's PC but they don't all have to be gamer PCs. Bonus: It looks really nice too.
