Good solid printer. Have not used all the features yet like photo, special sizes, etc.

After a month this combination printer/scanner has done well. Mainly using it to scan older family documents; birth, wedding and death certificates, along with newspaper articles and notices. But has done exceptionally well with some of the older late 19th century carte-de-visites and early 20th century family photographs.

We wanted a printer we could use with our iPads and this one is perfect for that purpose. We also love that it prints on both sides so saves on paper usage. We haven't really spent much time trying out the photo printing but I don't think we would use this printer for printing lots of pictures as it wouldn't be cost effective with having to replace ink cartridges. Otherwise we are very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to a friend.

the salesman said all I would have to do is run the install cd in each computer. That was not the case. I had to get help from the Geek Squad. There is a lot of technical info needed to install. I advised the sales rep I did not have that knowledge. The geek squad rep said I would not have been able to do this on my own.

When I was forced to lose my XP Computer due to the loss of updates, efficiency, etc. I purchased this new printer compatible for the Windows 8. I will probably never use half of the features on this printer and it is more complicated to use even though it does have quality printing. Maybe someday I will figure out how to use it to print photos too which I so much enjoyed on my old system.
