Still on the fence about this purchase

The computer came out of the box looking definitely used. It also seems to freeze up periodically. I am not sure if this is because it's refurbished or if it's just an HP thing. I saved an extra $150 on this compared to a new unit, however, it appears my warranty period expired with HP and it would cost $150 for an extended warranty with HP. I will buy new and not refurbished going forward.

Computer Crashes - very bad experience
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.At first, the computer was freezing intermittently here and there. Just thought it was a software glitch. The Keyboard and mouse USB would not work occasionally on start-up, which I fixed by having to re-plug it in on every time it happened. I just thought the computer is being a little "glitchy". Now the computer is starting to crash on every other use, when i'm watching youtube videos or even when transferring files on USB. the Computer totally freezes and I have to do a hard re-start. I called Bestbuy and they told me it was past the 2 week "return/exchange" period. I can't even exchange a newly purchased refurbished item that is defective. I called HP and they said the warranty is only good for 90 days and doesn't include exchanging a defective computer, but includes only repair. Now I have to send it in. Not very happy with this purchase. Not very pleased with BestBuy's or HP's inability to exchange a newly purchased defective computer.
