The low rating is primarily due to the customer service associated with a substandard toner issue. I purchased this printer a little over a month ago and was immediately thrilled with the print quality and features of the printer. Everything I needed for my business as a Realtor. Then, a couple of weeks ago, I started getting the low-toner message and before I knew it, the print quality was unacceptable because I need to replace the toner cartridges. I was amazed that the toner would deplete so quickly (under 900 pages for black ink and under 600 pages for colors). I had had a black & white laser printer for almost 15 years prior to this one, and probably replaced the toner cartridge once a year at most. I called Best Buy, and they said there was nothing they could do. I then called HP, and their customer service just kept saying the same thing - not covered and I'd have to buy replacement cartridges. They said the new printers only come with set up toner cartridges and aren't meant to last as long. This was a first for me. Seems like a huge ripoff. At over $200 for all 4 cartridges, it's about as much as the printer - and even if they last longer, it'll be a fortune to replace the cartridges several times each year. Still, I would have hoped that HP customer service would help more than they did. Instead, they kept repeating what they're programmed to say and that it was my responsibility to purchase and replace the toner. Just unacceptable.

I'm really happy I purchased this. I've had a mixed experience with refurbs from other retailers but this one looked like I was the first owner. Prints and scans perfectly. I don't fax but I'm sure it would work fine.

I have an original model and I bought a backup printer. Works great with Apple wireless equipment but I still have to plug in when I use a Windows laptop. (A Windows issue, not the printer). Otherwise, great system.

Was a hesitant to purchase something refurbished, but have always had good experience with BestBuy so took the risk. This has been a great printer for us so far. No complaints.

Printer arrived and it looked like new. Printed several copies (>300) of an 11X17 two-sided newsletter. Printer never jammed, made crisp copies and performed better than expected. A great buy for a great product.

The longer I have it, the more I love it. This printer was relatively simple to set up and a breeze to use. I had lost my patience with ink jet printers and the annoyance of frequent and costly ink cartridge replacements. I yearned for the laser printer I had 15 years ago. When I found this color laser jet printer at such a low cost, I couldn't resist. Although it is not a "photo quality" printer, I get beautiful photos from it for family use. Very happy with my purchase.

Printer was easy to setup. Prints documents quickly. So glad I switched over to laser printers instead of inkjet printers. No more dry ink and waiting five minutes for the old canon inkjet to print.

Great printer. Refurbished made this printer very affordable. Prints very nice pages. The color is great. I would recommend this printer to every body.

The printer was refurbished, but prints very well. This is a full featured printer. The main issue is the cost of the toner cartridges.

Great print and scan quality, plus airprint is great. It's a little slower than my old BW laser printer, but the color capabilities more than make up for it.

I dropped this monster on my foot & it hit the floor from about 3ft & the plastic naturally came off as one would expect. I snapped it all back in place & tested knowing I was gonna have to buy a new one, but to my Plesant surprise it actually still works...I’m a fan now...

i liked the printer very much, only thing is lcd display is small. but not a concern though.

My first color laser printer. Set uo took awhile but was well worth it. Four colors, fax, scanner, duplexer all on my desktop in a compact unit.

Easy to set up. Especially like the direct printing feature for up to 5 devices. Very good color copies.

Very easy setup, works great. I bought the extended warranty, because printers don't seem to last as long as they used to.

Great printer so far.. gets the job done... 8/10 would recommend.

So far so good. I was sick and tired of buying ink for the ink jet printer all the time. The prints are super clear and crispy

Outstanding value. Laser jet a must have for those who are fed up with ink jet cartridges drying out..crisp clear copies.

Looks new, smells new, works like new! So far about 20 pages thru the printer and all is well.

It seems like a very good printer so Hp gets a great recommendation
