Everything about this scanner is a pro!! I love the features it has, especially the separate compartment for negatives. This compartment makes sure your negatives stays in place for proper scanning. I've used other scanners that did not have this feature and its fustrating to have to keep scanning your negatives because they moved while closing the lid. This scanner model prevents moving. Some of my pictures were worn, slightly damage, but it comes with software to fix. Well, at least mine did. I definitely have to say, you cannot beat the price for such great features. It's the best I have used. The only thing is, when I was moving, I did not package for moving correctly and I broke it. Now, I need to get a new one, which I definitely will because I miss having this great product!!

I purchased this scanner to create a 50th Wedding Anniversary photo presentation for my parents. - Why this model: Primarily, because of the types of the pictures and 35mm slides I had to scan (some of which dated back 50 years) and their varied color and quality I chose this model. A secondary reason is that I've always had good experiences with the HP product line. - Setup time: From opening the box to test scanning my first photo was about 20-30 minutes, very easy and intuitive. - Hardware: Warm up time is quick and the scan quality and speed is remarkable when compared to even slightly older scanners. The ability to scan multiple photos at once and send them to separate files was a huge time saver. Color quality is fantastic. - Software: The included software, allowed me to tweak the older faded or discolored photos or slides with little effort. The software appears to be well designed and integrated. I had no installation failures or lock-ups when using the various modes that are available with this scanner. - Price: Price was not a major factor in my decision because I was looking to perform a specific function and selected the best model from those available. Nevertheless, I felt like I got a great product at a great price! - Conclusion: So far it has been perfect for what I purchased it for, and I don't believe that I've really flexed all of the muscle that this device has under the "hood". I would definitely recommend this device if you're looking for a good quality flatbed scanner.

I have had 4 scanners and this is the best by far. The easy to use software has great features to produce clear images. I also use the software to upload and edit pictures from my digital memory card. This is a great buy for the price. I would buy one again.

I had an older HP scanner that just would not hook up on my new PC. some kind of software conflict on installation. So off to BB to see what HP scanners were looking like. I still wanted the flat capability and also needed to scan photo negatives and this had it all. The price was the usual BB great deal price so I ordered it via the web and in showed up in just a couple of days - WOW. The installation was a breeze and the functions were all there only updated so they were easier to use. It plays very well with my HP printer as you would expect.

I used the scanner to copy old photos and slides, many over 50 to 75 years old. The editing done by the scanner software was impressive. Old faded pictures, many with sepia tones from age looked much better than I ever believed possible. Slides were also restored to a much better appearance. I am very pleased with the scanner and have recommended this product to friends.

I was a bit leary to purchase when I read on other sites about install problems. I went on HP's web site and downloaded Vista 64 bit drivers and program. All went very smooth and was up and scanning in no time. I really like the negative slide feature although it takes longer than I expected to scan. The only con I could see was the power button, it needs to be in the front. Overall I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

This scanner is perfect. I purchased this particular scanner because I needed to scan 35MM negatives. I love the PDF feature.

I have been very pleased with this product. It was a very easy set up and the picture quality is good even on old fuzzy photos.
