I recently purchased this phone on sale for 50 dollars, no contract and for the price range of 50-100 dollars this phone is an excellent value. Similar phones in that price range are flip phones, low quality generic 'smart' phones with a mediocre non-android operating system or low -spec, low build quality android smart phones. This is not the case here! This phone features a 1.2 gigahertz quad-core processor, 1 gigabyte of ram and 8 gigabytes of memory, along a 4.7 inch display. The processor is very fast and it places it in the mid-range(200-500) dollar phones, and according to benchmarks performs accordingly. The ram is significant for the price and the memory is with apps installed low; you will have around 500 megabytes free; however this can be solved with a cloud storage account or sd micro card, which it can hold up to 128 gigabytes. Also it runs the Android KitKat, 4.4 and can run Android 5.0; albeit HTC is releasing the update in June/July. The screen is excellent, bright colors, sharp, resistant to scratches and far superior to anything in the same price range. Similarly the build quality is surprisingly good, minimal designed, hefty feel, secure casing. HTC has an excellent music player and places a minimum of software; there is some bloat ware from sprint however this can be removed. Call quality is decent; wifi works well. This is not 600-700 dollar phone, it is not an iphone or samsung galaxy but for the price you receive a terrific value with this fast, quality phone.

This is my 4th smart phone (in 6 years) and least expensive so far. After the Samsung Galaxy S2 was K.I.A., quickly needed an affordable replacement. This phone exactly what I needed. Found the perfect case and holster on eBay for under $10.

To me this phone just does not live up to its name. Its ok speed wise and fairly smooth and simple to operate but this phone is just not up to par. The screen resolution seems to be lacking even though I believe it says its HD. No indicator lights for missed calls, messages or charging so you have to physically pick up the phone and check. The 5mp camera is a joke, especially w/o a flash. Pictures are very grainy especially when taken in not "perfect" light. The lack of flash also makes it impossible to have a decent flashlight handy. Not sure if its me, but the power button is on the wrong side from every other HTC that I have owned. Speakers are garbage and volume is too low. Suppose this could be good phone for a 6 yo, but not sure that it will be able to take the abuse.
