This has definitely been the album I've been waiting 6 years for, Gorillaz have done it again!

I admit, unlike their prior albums this was not an instant classic for me. I think it's because it doesn't quite feel like a Gorillaz album. Perhaps it's because I can't quite latch onto the album's central theme; that and the overuse of interludes that kind of break the flow of the album. After a few listens, though, it grew on me; and I've come to realize that there are some really great tracks on here (“Charger” and “Andromeda” being a couple of my faves) and can even enjoy it as a whole. So if you're not instantly won over by this album the first time around, try giving it a second, third, or even sixth listen. It may not be the greatest Gorillaz album, but it's a great album regardless

If you're thinking about picking this album up, I recommend going with the deluxe edition over the standard edition. The extra songs really make it worth it, and a couple are amongst my favorite songs from this album. Some people may not care for the direction they took this album—it has a very political tone (though in all fairness, Gorillaz have always been political), and it also has a fairly noticeable dance/house influence. There definitely are a couple songs more typical of the Gorillaz, and the production throughout is definitely done in typical Gorillaz fashion. I've really enjoyed this album, and I'm glad the Gorillaz are finally back again.

After a long time hiatus, the Gorillaz are back! This album has a lot more collaborations in it than previous albums and delves more into the genres of pop and rap/hip-hop rather than rock which was a slight downside to this. Some songs didn't tickle my fancy but for the most part, the album was solid. I even went the extra mile to buy the deluxe version just for the song "The Apprentice" because it was that good. I would definitely recommend this album to anyone.

    No Country for Old Gorillas

The band is still off the beaten path, but it is closer to Feel Good Inc. than Plastic Beach, going further into post-space-age future funk. They are not the new hotness any more, and they are OK with their position and just Do Their Thing and let everyone else watch in awe. The killer tracks full of awesome make up for the weaker tracks of filler. The future is bright for the planet of the punk/funk apes.

The band is called Gorillaz which sounds like Gorillas but with a Z instead of an S. When you think of Gorillas (with an S) you think like a monkey, but Gorillaz (with a Z) aren't monkies, they are a rock band. So their new album is called Humanz with a Z, unlike Humans with an S which is like people. So what are Humanz with a Z? Well you gotta listen to the album to find out...

Humanz is finally here after a 6+ year hiatus. While it is not my favorite Gorillaz record, it certainly is most excellent. The guest spots are really varied (Mavis Staples track is especially awesome) and it's a good mix of pounding beats and more subdued pieces. I actually prefer the second half of the album over the first. This ranks #4 in their discography for me (with The Fall coming in at #5) but it's still a great record and worth multiple listens.

    A Return to Form

I have followed the Gorillaz since their first album dropped, and have seen things steadily decline from "Amazing music I must always have in my ears" to "Well, Plastic Beach existed." This is the newest album, and I find it leagues above Plastic Beach, but maybe not quite as stellar as Demon Days. The mixes are solid, and that Gorillaz vibe is present throughout every piece.

I enjoyed this album with its varied artists and various (albeit mostly electronica) styles. I am an owner of Demon Days and I find this new album to be a direct descendant. I do regret that the second half of this 2-CD set does not allow those songs to be stored offline, for some reason. Otherwise, this is a great album to put on and listen to, from beginning to end.

I have been really enjoying this album. I have been a huge Gorillaz fan for a while and have been highly anticipating this for well over a year! I do not think that this album is as good as Demon Days or Plastic Beach, mainly because I felt that it didn't have a flowing album feel. It kinda feels like a collection of singles, but I love it either way! The artwork is great and I was very pleased with the album. Can't wait for the next one!

Loved the Gorillaz since I first heard them back in the early 2000s, this album is no different. As time progresses, Gorillaz seems to collaborate with more and more artist and it's through these collaborations I have come to learn about Del the Funky Homosapien and Dan the Automater (Deltron 3030), Popcaan, and Danny Brown; just to name a few. If a person finds themselves a fan of the Gorillaz and their work, this album is a must own.

Gorillaz dropped their new album, HUMANZ, and it shows again just how unique of a group the Gorillaz are. While you don't get Damon's singing on every track, he's there in spirit in the music itself. All the featured guest artists bring their own style to their specific track(s) and make for a great overall listening experience. If the big bomb ever does drop on this planet, I'll be listening to this album all the way out.

Gorillaz will never hit expectations. Never ever listen to Gorillaz with expectations. Every album is different. This one will challanges you. Every piece is intensional. I love this album. I've been listening to it non stop. But, if you only like radio hits. This is not for you. The Deluxe version is worth the few extra bucks.

I tend to need multiple plays to like Gorillaz songs. I can't really define their genre; the only word that comes to mind is "funky". This album is also very funky, but more pop than past albums. Very easy to get into and some songs will be very addicting. The featured artists have amazing voices and vibes.

I read reviews online explaining that the album was just ok, but I am a Gorillaz fan so there was no question as to if I would buy it. I've enjoyed the album and all the bonus tracks. I do wish that there wasn't so much collaboration that the Gorillaz were basically drowned out. Great buy though.

After listening twice to this two disk release, I realize that this is more for the large fan base than to win over new fans with hooks. There are earlier releases that are for earning new fans. This release was to remind us who Gorrilaz are.

I bought this for my 19 year-old daughter, at her request, as soon as she found it. She is a huge Gorillaz fan, and was eagerly waiting for this album. I asked her what she thought, after she listened to it, and she gave it five stars. I kind of liked it too. It's great for in the car.

Finally with the return of the Gorillaz they come back strong as ever. The amount of collaborations was an amazing surprise! They pulled no punches with this one. I absolutely enjoy every moment listening to this one for certain! A lot of soul went into this one obviously!

This album has many classic Gorrilaz elements and some new ones. Most songs are featuring a rapper many of which I've never heard of. It's no Plastic Beach but still a good listen. The extra 6 songs are worth the extra money.
