Please read. I honestly don’t know for how much this keyboard is going for right now, but I got it for about $90. Pricey fs. But quality my friends. Honestly didn’t expect such a nice keyboard from hyper x. The keyboard is not light but not too heavy. Just right, so you can feel it’s made out of real and quality material. Great keyboard for those who need a small keyboard and loves custom lighting. Because this keyboard can save up to 3 different color modes which is I think cool. You setup it up once in hyperx software app and it will be downloaded to your keyboard. Which means you can still switch colors even without your hyper x app running which is cool. For me personally. Well if you read that far, I’m just wanna say I’m glad you reading my review and I hope this will help you with your decision. Have a good one. A.L

This keyboard is excellent. I got it on sale for $80, and for the price, you shouldn’t really be considering any other board. The build quality is great, the whole shell is made of aluminum so the keyboard feels like a quality product. The Razer Huntsman TE, which is Razer’s equivalent to this board, is like $30-$40 more and it doesn’t feel nearly as premium as this keyboard. If you can find this board on sale, you should absolutely get it. I haven’t looked back since buying it, love this keyboard. I got the one with the aqua tactical switches and they are a dream to type on. I found myself making too many typing errors with red linear switches, but I type great with these. I use this keyboard for schoolwork and gaming as well. Highly recommend to anyone. HyperX makes good quality products.

What's there to say? Paired with a wrist rest (look around at bestbuy or some online retailer for a wooden one, trust me on this!), it's just amazing. The Aqua switches that are unique to this keyboard have the same actuation force as Browns, but the travel distance is much lower. No clicky sound, so if you're looking for something like blue switches, this ain't it, chief. Lighting effects are what you'd expect. I didn't mess with customizations for them too much as I'm enjoying the default "wave" setting. If you're someone uses the numpad tons, get the one with the numpad. Otherwise, I def can recommend this one. My one complaint is the software isn't that versatile. Unlike with Corsair's software, you can't set up custom key combos (e.g. alt+1 or shift + 3) that execute unique commands.

Pros -linear custom switches-these are pretty much custom Cherry switches with a few tweaks by Kingston -usb type C -full alloy construction on bottom and top -beautiful bright RGB -this adjusts in 2 stages of height and the feet are super sturdy -no flex on this board. Overall, great keyboard, definitely recommend it.

Previously, I've owned two keyboards -- one with Cherry MX browns and the other with Cherry MX reds. Both were of different brands. I was lucky to have picked this one up at the local store as there was only a few in stock. Had to search around to find one with aqua switches. Originally, I was going to go for a clicky keyboard but after some intensive googling and research, I decided to go for this one instead since it was also on sale. HyperX makes REALLY good gaming peripherals, and completely blows other competitors away. I love how soft and smooth the switches feel. Purpose of buying this keyboard: I am a programmer and I write a lot. The TKL is a nice addition too -- it's light and portable to carry around (its more lighter than the other TKL I have). Saves space on my desk. I don't game often -- occasionally I play Fortnite and some TF2 on the side. This keyboard has high quality materials and blows away my $200 Corsair keyboard I bought in 2015. <3 HyperX!

I really like this keyboard. This is my second purchase for a keyboard and boy it's much better to invest in the good stuff because cheap stuff can't get you very far. The keypads are so smooth and the program is very easy to use. I love how you can easily change the colors on the board.

I tested every mechanical keyboard that was in the store and this one was by far my favorite. The size is great and the keys are exactly what I was looking for. Mechanical keys are very subjective but I really enjoy the feel and sound of these. RGB looks great on it.

Recently I bought a pc and was in need of a keyboard to finish my setup. After looking for keyboards I settled for this one. So here’s my honest opinion about it. The keyboard is really nice, I love the rgb feature and I like that the keys aren’t too far apart or close to each other. I’m still getting used to keyboard and mouse since I switched from PS4. I honestly love this keyboard a lot and I’m satisfied with its quality. The keys are just slightly noisy but it doesn’t bother me too much since the game audio with my headphones cancel out the noise that the keyboard is producing. None of my friends have complained about hearing the keyboard in the background while I’m in calls with them, so that’s something good. Also the keyboard looks like it’s built well and there was a lot of thought put in. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone who’s a beginner in gaming.

This keyboard is amazing. The keys are smooth and responsive with a light tactile bump. The noise level is not bad - it's probably the same between the aqua switches and the red switches. The all aluminum body is SOLID and the rubber feet keep the keyboard from moving anywhere. The RGB is awesome! Very easy to customize using the NGENUITY software. You will probably need a wrist rest with the keyboard - it sits a little high. Best buy sells a well reviewed HyperX brand one, or you can buy one from the website named after a South American River. I use the keyboard mostly for typing, with some light gaming thrown in. It's a great combination for that purpose and a great first mechanical keyboard.

Was looking at getting this keyboard to try out and ended up buying the tactile Aqua switches since they were on sale. First impressions, they are very nice and feel better than MX Browns, but both still offer a nice light tactile experience. Only real concerns are that the stabilizers are very loud, but this is coming from someone who has built a few custom keyboards. Other than that, the price for this board is very great, and the Aqua switches are very unique feeling that makes buying this board worth trying out. HyperX should really consider selling these switches by themselves or make their future keyboards hot swap in order to gain the full advantage of lubing switches, but as a gaming keyboard this is a great choice at a nice price.

[Employee of bestbuy] I have been using a razer keyboard for the past couple of years which seems to break in a lot of areas although still useable. The hyperx keyboard feels premium while still being relatively affordable compared to other premium keyboards out there. The clickiness feels smooth and not obnoxious while also giving you key feedback. RGB is nice as usual and provides plenty of color layout options. Definitely would recommend if you are in search for a new keyboard.

Full disclosure first: I only used this keyboard for a few hours before returning it. The keyboard itself has awesome build quality. A full aluminum case makes this thing a tank. I'm not sure why the USB-C connector is on the right, but I don't take any points off of it for that. The aqua switches are awesome and I loved typing on them. I wish the keyboard was hot-swap capable, since I would consider buying one just to harvest the switches off of it. So here's the reason for the four stars, and the reason I returned the keyboard: the software, at the date I used it, was garbage. First off it's a Win10 app available in the Microsoft Store. Ok, that's not the end of the world but it's not great. What is bad is that it crashed my computer. Only once, but I wasn't willing to keep it on there to see if it got better. I narrowed it down since the problem happened shortly after install, and it started off with my monitor having a visible but faint flickering any time the software was pulled up in the foreground. One crash later, and one software uninstall later, and all is good again. I considered just programming the keyboard and uninstalling the software to forget about it, but if I'm going to do that then I might as well just get a GMMK. If you don't care about the software, or if they've fixed the issue I ran into, I would totally recommend this board. The aqua switches alone are worth it.

Nice ten keyless setup. Switches are nice and smooth. A little loud but I was using a membrane keyboard for the past 15 years. The RGB is nice and the software is not difficult to use.

Great keyboard. The aqua switches feel pretty nice. The detachable wire is a plus, and it's overall a pretty great TKL. I put white keycaps on mine to make the RGB pop a little more.
