Customers consistently note the Alloy Origins Core TKL keyboard's excellent quality and appealing aesthetics, along with its vibrant RGB lighting. Many appreciate the responsive key feel, the quality of the switches, and the keyboard's value for its price, as well as its ease of use and ideal size. I spent a few weeks testing out many different keyboards in the $75-$200 range and this one stuck out above all others. Would highly recommend getting the pudding key caps because they look amazing! I also got the HyperX wrist rest because tall keyboards hurt my hands.

This keyboard looks and feels amazing. The switches are smooth and responsive. One little issue, the space bar feels kind of loose, but that’s not a major issue (for now). The RGB lighting is bright. When it’s, I can see all the colors illuminating out of the keyboard in my game room, from the Dining/Living room. Decent price point for the quality, but would even better on sale. Either way, I’d compare this keyboard to the $100-$130 options. I preferred spending more on a great wireless gaming mouse, so this price point on a gaming keyboard that also works for typing did the job for me.

One of the best TKL keyboards

This may be the best TKL keyboard out there. And it's completely under the radar! Pros: - Great price point! Rivals others that are twice as much. - Full aluminum frame, not just plastic with an aluminum face. - Cherry MX Red style keycaps, smooth as butter, and perfect actuation point. - Plug it in and use it. It has preset RGB options, and you could easily live with those without downloading any software. - RGB looks fantastic. Cons: - No designated volume control. A sacrifice probably for the price point. - HyperX Ngenuity software is borderline terrible. It's still in Beta, but really?! If you want something to intergrate easily with your other HyperX devices as well as game recognition, this system is not for you. Ultimately this keyboard is a must for PC gaming. If you want a keyboard that doesn't need software, feels great, and is built like a tank, this is for you. It's a little sensitive for everyday typing until you get used to it. Easy to fat-finger. I run all Logitech products with GHub, so I had to convince myself to buy this because of that. If you love GHub and it's integration with their products, you'll have to make that decision.

While I do miss the number pad (I use it frequently) the TKL design is the next best layout in my opinion. While the switches are tactile (aqua) they feel strangely linear, it's a lovely combination (I typically dislike red/linear switches). I still get tactile feedback, but it's more subtle and smooth than most other tactile boards I tried. I love it for gaming! Only thing that would make it better for me is if the keys were low profile. I can't type as fast as my clicky switch Razer keyboard, but I am only about 5-10wpm slower. This keyboard is very quiet which my wife loves! The software is a little tricky compared to Razer Chroma, but I was able to set it up how I wanted fairly quickly. For the price this keyboard is AMAZING! Not sure why everyone goes crazy for heavy keyboards, they say that means higher quality or something. I LOVE the lightweight of this keyboard, USB-C is convenient and the font is excellent. I also bought the white pudding caps from HyperX and they're a must in my opinion.

I got really scared looking at gaming keyboards and how much some of these cost. When I ran across this one it seemed too good to be true. I had a hyperx keyboard prior and I really didn't like it at all. But alas that keyboard was $40. It was HUGE and didn't work in my space at all and the keys felt like they were floating in water when I was typing. For a slight price increase, this keyboard is much better. It's hard to find a small keyboard. Most gaming keyboards are really huge and have that useless numberpad on them. But this compact keyboard doesn't have that and it's under $100. I was looking specifically for a clicky keyboard. I really love the sound of typing and the clicks of the keyboard. This keyboard satisfies that auditory craving. I might replace the keycaps soon for something a little nicer but they feel quite alright. I was very surprised how heavy it was. I didn't realize the top part of the keyboard is make out of aluminum. It's a very nice touch and makes it feel very high quality. Some people complain about the software for Hyperx. The software is in beta but it works great. You have so many color options for the RGB. You can set different color preferences on your main color keys...it's very nice and I like it a whole lot. In a very confusing and saturated market for keyboards, I can say this one is a very good bet. It's probably not as nice as your big $200 keyboards but to be completely honest...no keyboard is worth that much unless you have the money to waste on it. If you are looking for a compact that is high end but not luxurious, this is it. Hyperx really came through on this one.

    HyperX Gaming Keyboard Review

So, let me give you a bit of backstory. I had a Corsair K70 RGB MK.2 before I got this keyboard. Felt in love with my first keyboard, but there were some things that I wanted different. Firstly, my first keyboard was full size, had Cherry MX Speed Silvers, and it was all white. So then I did some researching on finding a new keyboard that was all dark but a bit smaller for my desk to give me more mouse space. I went through a lot, from Logitech, Corsair, Razor and even Red dragon, but then I saw this one and realized it was the best one for me. This keyboard is all around great, I love the switches, these Aqua switches are just the best if you want tactile switches that aren't too loud. Very solid price point for this item, however I got this on sale for only $80 when it was $90 originally. I would definitely recommend this keyboard to anyone who wants something different, and also I will leave a vid, hopefully it works :) file:///C:/Users/agdia/Videos/Logitech/LogiCapture/2021-06-18_12-40-28.mp4

Please read. I honestly don’t know for how much this keyboard is going for right now, but I got it for about $90. Pricey fs. But quality my friends. Honestly didn’t expect such a nice keyboard from hyper x. The keyboard is not light but not too heavy. Just right, so you can feel it’s made out of real and quality material. Great keyboard for those who need a small keyboard and loves custom lighting. Because this keyboard can save up to 3 different color modes which is I think cool. You setup it up once in hyperx software app and it will be downloaded to your keyboard. Which means you can still switch colors even without your hyper x app running which is cool. For me personally. Well if you read that far, I’m just wanna say I’m glad you reading my review and I hope this will help you with your decision. Have a good one. A.L

Amazing keyboard. The HyperX red switches feel very smooth, I feel like I could type or game on it all day. While I haven't tried Cherry MX switches, I have tried the Gateron red switches (which some people say are better/smoother than Cherry) and these feel even smoother. RGB backlight is bright and beautiful, keys are responsive, software works great, and I personally really like the matte ABS keycaps. The only con I could think of is that the keyboard's spacebar and backspace key have a slight rattling sound when pressed down, but that shouldn't stop you from buying this keyboard. Overall, I'm in love with this keyboard!

Love this keyboard. I do a lot of typing all day. The tactical feel of the keys is just what I was expecting and visually its not only eye catching but the lit keys are actually very helpful in the low-light area I work. So far its holding up to my typing and I certainly would recommend it to my friends if they were in the market for a new keyboard.

I purchased this keyboard after seeing a number of positive reviews and thought I'd give it a try. I have limited desk space, so a TKL or 60% keyboard size is perfect for me. I prefer tactile switches and my previous main keyboards were the Ducky One 2 SF w/Cherry MX Browns for home and my Razer Blackwidow Lite w/Razer Orange switches for work. I didn't really need another keyboard, but this was on sale for a great price and figured another keyboard wouldn't hurt. The switches, made by Kailh for HyperX, are Aqua tactiles. They are only found on HyperX keyboards. They are on the lighter end of tactile, feeling almost like a linear switch at times. It has excellent stabilizers with minimal chatter and not quite as much scratchiness as the equivalent Cherry MX Browns. The RGB is bright and vibrant, however the keycaps are cheap ABS that show a lot of fingerprints and tend to wear down quickly. However, at this price, I wouldn't consider them unacceptable. One feature I appreciate about keyboards is to have a removable keyboard. Sometimes I disconnect my TKL to use a full-sized keyboard when I need the numpad and it's easy to just unplug it from the keyboard rather than the back of my PC and reconnect it. The choice of having the cable on the right instead of the left is a little odd, but not a big deal. All in all, for under $100 this keyboard is hard to beat. Highly recommended!

Great keyboard, no major complaints as of a couple of weeks since purchase. Upgraded from a keyboard with clicky switches, so this was a much needed and much appreciated change. The aqua switches are incredibly smooth yet still feel tactile. The keycaps are very nice and the lighting is great. The only thing I dislike is that the HyperX lighting software must be open and minimized for the effects to work properly, however that is not that large of an issue and is not directly related to rhe product.

I purchased this keyboard mainly to be my "work" keyboard in that I would keep it in the office for the few times I don't work from home. I have a Corsair K70 RGB (first verison, not the Mk.2) w/ Cherry MX Red switches. As a self-described Corsair fanboy, I was a little bit leery about trying the HyperX switches, but I can say that I don't really notice any difference between the two (a .2mm difference in actuation and travel distance, where the HyperX Reds are less on both). The RGB is awesome, and the utility (HyperX NGENUITY) is much better than Corsair's iCUE software. I especially like the ability to save three profiles to the keyboard's on-board memory, and that NGENUITY doesn't have to constantly run in the background in order to show dynamic effects, whereas iCUE has to be (this may be different on the K70 Mk.2, but I'm not entirely sure). The keycaps are surprisingly nice; I had read reviews online that made them sound subpar, but I enjoy them. The fact that the keyboard is connected with a single USB-C to USB-A cable is awesome. It's super easy to unplug the keyboard and take it with, to the point where I'm strongly considering using the Alloy Origins Core as my primary keyboard at home and taking it to work with me when I need to. Overall, the keyboard seems very well made, and is well worth the money. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a mechanical keyboard.

HyperX continues to be the rare brands that combine high quality with affordable. HyperX has always been reliable and top tier whether its keyboards or headphones. This TKL is a great mechanical keyboard with satisfying keys. With prices being cut for this keyboard, I highly recommend to anyone looking for a first mechanical keyboard or a first TKL or simply an awesome keyboard at a lower price.

What's there to say? Paired with a wrist rest (look around at bestbuy or some online retailer for a wooden one, trust me on this!), it's just amazing. The Aqua switches that are unique to this keyboard have the same actuation force as Browns, but the travel distance is much lower. No clicky sound, so if you're looking for something like blue switches, this ain't it, chief. Lighting effects are what you'd expect. I didn't mess with customizations for them too much as I'm enjoying the default "wave" setting. If you're someone uses the numpad tons, get the one with the numpad. Otherwise, I def can recommend this one. My one complaint is the software isn't that versatile. Unlike with Corsair's software, you can't set up custom key combos (e.g. alt+1 or shift + 3) that execute unique commands.

This keyboard is excellent. I got it on sale for $80, and for the price, you shouldn’t really be considering any other board. The build quality is great, the whole shell is made of aluminum so the keyboard feels like a quality product. The Razer Huntsman TE, which is Razer’s equivalent to this board, is like $30-$40 more and it doesn’t feel nearly as premium as this keyboard. If you can find this board on sale, you should absolutely get it. I haven’t looked back since buying it, love this keyboard. I got the one with the aqua tactical switches and they are a dream to type on. I found myself making too many typing errors with red linear switches, but I type great with these. I use this keyboard for schoolwork and gaming as well. Highly recommend to anyone. HyperX makes good quality products.
