Great corded headset, could have had more sound isolation but, other than that it checks all of the boxes for a good set.

Hyper x cloud 3's have better sound isolation than the 2's but are not as comfortable. The mix is also less bass heavy which I'm not sure I like. Overall the hyper x cloud 2's are better.

My husband loves this headset , he plays Fortnite every night and can’t ever hear me yelling at him and now I am wanting to get one for me and the noise canceling is perfect

Headphones are wonderful. They are extremely good at giving me directional cues on where to look when gaming cause sound is key in most games. Mic is very good quality havent had many issues.

Audio is muffled and low eq. Dts improves it a bit but not better than the cloud 2 which are far superior in audio technology not sure why it has a 4 + rating. A10s and Turtle Stealth 600 are probably a better buy.

HyperX has always been a great choice for gaming on a budget, while not cutting corners on comfort or quality. HyperX Cloud III wired gaming headset is a great choice for a multi-platform headset solution, working with most consoles or mobile devices and PC via the included USB adapter. I picked this up to use with the xbox console but will also be able to plug it into my mobile game systems for comfort and quality sound on the go!
Pros:
- Comfortable fit, with adjustable ear cup placement.
- Multi-platform Compatibility.
- Volume dial and mute button on back of earphone!
Cons:
- Pleather material on ear cups.
- Sound is great for gaming, but not amazing for movies or music.
The HyperX Cloud III is a simple plug-and-play headset, with no software needed or fussing around with settings to get going. Included in the box is the headset, detachable microphone, 3.5mm Audio Jack to USB-C cable, and USB-C to USB-A dongle.
The only major downside right out of the box is the choice of material for the ear cups, a “premium leatherette” as listed in the materials, otherwise known as pleather. I would have preferred a mesh or fabric material, that would be easier to wash and wear better, as usually the pleather starts to peal off after enough years of use. The ear cups are super comfortable, soft, and not too warm while wearing over longer gaming sessions. Just a personnel preference, but that can always be replaced with a third-party ear cup so no loss to overall points in my book.
The HyperX Cloud III has moved the mute and volume controls to the back of the earphones, where prior versions had these controls limited to inline for USB connections only, leaving the Mobile, Switch, and Xbox users having to manage sound via third-party or software options only. This makes adjusting the volume or muting much easier for all users! An easy press of the button will mute the microphone and turn on a red mute indicator light on the mic boom to indicate the mute is on. Great quality of life improvements over the prior version.
The game and chat audio are clear and crisp, helping to easily hear those footsteps creeping up behind you. But there is a clear lacking of Bass when listing to movies or music. It’s completely possible that using the DTS Headphone:X Spatial Audio would help, but I wanted to avoid having to use another app or tool. Honestly, it is a very minor concern to me, but worth mentioning if you were considering the Cloud III as a primary headset for listening to more than games, you might need to adjust the settings to your desired sound preferences through the DTS Sound Unbound app.
Overall, the HyperX Cloud series has always been a great go to for console gamers, and the series III is no exception. I will be recommending the HyperX Cloud III for those looking for a quality gaming headset that will work for multiple gaming platforms. If you’re looking for something for more all-around audio use, I would take into consideration how important audio quality is for your use. I'm very happy with the quality and compatibility of the HyperX Cloud III gaming headset.
