I purchased this HyperX Cloud Revolver for my Xbox One and Gaming PC. I wanted a headset that would work seamlessly with both and this one is perfect. I read a PC Gamer article about them prior to purchase and everything they wrote was accurate. The sound this headset produces is simply phenomenal. So far I have used them for playing Wolfenstein on PC and Halo 5 on Xbox One along with listening to music. I had no idea just how bad my old headphones were until I listened to these.

    Better than Mainstream Gaming Headsets

Due to the quality of certain (and apparently cannot be named here) mainstream headsets declining, I decided to look for a headset that delivered the real power to match the price. My recently purchased but previous headset was stolen, and I was forced to shop again. I told myself this time I wasn't going to give in to the mainstream gaming market and I was going to look for a good quality, decent headset specifically for gaming. I took the approach of researching names you dont hear as often as razer/astro/logitech. The reason for this is, like for monitors you usually get ASUS or something, right? Well, after research, I found Benq has AMAZING and will be getting one soon. I found the HyperX Cloud I, Cloud II, and Cloud Revolver and started doing more research to find that they are superior, pro gaming adequate headsets. Maybe I just don't read often, but how often do you hear about HyperX? Anyways. It became a toss up of whether I should get the Cloud II or the Cloud Revolver. The main differences other than obvious aesthetics are the fact that the Cloud II has 53mm drivers and surround sound, and then Cloud Revolver has 50mm drivers and no surround sound unless you get the Cloud Revolver S version. The Cloud Revolver are also $20~ more dollars. I read many reviews about both and everyone said that the clarity and depth to the Revolvers were far superior, despite not having surround sound. My final decision was to go with the Revolvers because in all reality.. I don't even really need surround sound unless being pro is in the picture or if I am watching movies. I can say that this was one of the best purchases I have made regarding headsets. The first impression was they are super light. After playing with them on for a few hours, I sometimes actually forgot they were even on my head. The sound quality is by far the best quality I have heard from a gaming headset out of at least 4 different brands I have tried. And it's not that I have bad ears. I play multiple instruments well and have experience with audio and music. The drivers for the headset are 50mm and smaller than the Cloud II, but they're angled differently. The effect it gave me was that I felt like I was listening to crisp, clear sounds from within a room around me. This is what they mean by a professional grade sound stage. Unlike like the Razer/Astros, where I feel like sound is being blasted into my hear from something being pressed against my eardrum even if they were full sized and over the ear headsets. If the headphones are off, you can easily hear what someone is listening to at a low level. But when they're on, you can't hear anything unless you raise it well above a level that would be uncomfortable for most. And, to boot, the mic is noise cancelling. When playing games, despite not being surround sound, the depth and clarity of the sound made up for it and almost sounded surround to me. With the angle of the drivers, you can hear footsteps and shots in games not only from a greater distance away but also can gauge better how far away they are. For normal music listening, all levels of sound are crisp and clear. The only thing I would add to this would be more bass for certain types of beats. The only con I can see is the fact that the metal bar on the top of the headset that is used to help take pressure off your head can carry a lot of vibration to the ears if hit. But.. how often will someone do that? Overall, I would give these headsets a 4.6 out of 5 and would recommend them over Razer, Logitech, Astro, and Turtle Beach.

I saw numerous YouTube reviews on the Hyper X Cloud Revolver headset. After seeing all the positive reviews, I decided to pull the trigger and purchase them. They sound really good. I can hear all the dialogue in games, even whispers. I can even pick up environmental sounds like wind, water, and softly chattering zombie teeth. The bass isn't skull crushing, but there is some thump. They are also really comfortable. I hardly noticed they were there. Plus they are versitile. They can be used with consoles, PCs, mobile devices, and macs. At about $120 dollars, this is a nice headset.

Decent headset using 2 aux connections. 1 for mic 1 for sound. Does not support 7.1 like I was hoping when I bought it but its my fault for just grabbing and going. Other than that the sound quality is good for 5.1 and it is comfortable to wear. The adjustable microphone is also a plus. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a decent headset. hyperx makes good quality products from my experience. If you want better than 5.1 they also have another headset that supports 7.1 at the push of a button.

Pros: Excellent audio quality for the price, extremely comfortable, feels quality, metal headband, braided cord, removable mic, price. Cons: Large, closed back. I purchased these alongside a pair of Razer Kraken's for side by side comparisons after reading many reviews online. These are quite simply the best sounding gaming headphones I've ever heard. Audio is crisp, clear, and enjoyable. The sound stage isn't as wide as open backed headphones but well above average for closed back ones. Highs are clear and non-harsh, mid's are present and smooth, and the lows are punchy without distortion or boom. I was hearing things in my games I hadn't heard before with my Creative Labs G500 desktop speakers. The mic works very well and I've had no complaints from team mates about clarity. The fact that it's removable is a bonus. Comfort wise these are top notch! Easily the most comfortable headphones I've worn in quiet some time. The ear cups are generous and comfortable, allowing them to completely envelop your ears without pinning them to your head. The metal headband keeps them clamped securely but not tightly to your head allowing for hours of fatigue free wearing. After 2 1/2 hours of use I'd almost forgotten I was wearing them. Bottom line, these are likely the best bang for the buck you can find for a pair of gaming headphones. I highly recommend them!

Perfect Audio Quality and Very Comfortable

Straight off the bat, the audio driver box included enhances the audio range. The quality of this headset is very evenly spread out bass and vocals; However, it is more vocals when at max which is great for communications. The mic from what I have heard people tell me is very clear and no noise unless background is very loud. The ear cups are sit on the ears fully and are very large which is good for adjusting where you want them to sit. The detachable mic is also very great! Design: 9/10 For the price it would actually would be great to remove the audio cord detachable like other high end headsets. Price: 8/10 Including tax it is a bit pricey, but are great for the price regardless. Final Score: 8.7/10

This headset is great. It’s night and day difference coming from the Sony wireless gold headset. Comfortable for hours. 3 equalizers built into the inline controls. 7.1 is less stereo sound(ie directionsl footsteps) but fully wraps around you and brings you into the game. Reminds me of the theater sound. Pros: Light, comfy(mem foam ear cups). long long cord. Self adjusting fit so they float on your head. Amazing sound with or without 7.1 Cons: Inline controls are kinda far down the cord. Price The self adjusting part kind of puts a previously unexperienced pressure on your jaw but you get used to it. 7.1 could be better directional focused.

Was debating on these vs the Hyper X Revolver S but I decided to get these. Mainly because they were cheaper and since Christmas is around the corner, I figured I'd let my GF get me the Revolver S lol. Will update the review on the differences once that happens. I will say that I'm very pleased with these headsets. The mic quality is decent. Sound is excellent. Easily track your opponents with these in FPS games. I love how you can pop these on your head without having to adjust the band. The only downfall is that they can be loose, as in the headsets moving up(forward) or down your head. Not designed to have on while laying down. Not many people do this so I don't see this as a problem but thought I'd mention it. If these are a bit above your price range, try the Hyper X Cloud Alphas. Because they are newer than the Cloud 2's, they don't have many reviews on best buy's website. The Alphas are an upgrade to the cloud 2's. If you liked the cloud 2's and wanted something around the $100 range, I'd totally recommend the Alphas. They are great as well! Make sure to get best buys 2 year warranty so that in case anything goes wrong, you will have some awesome headsets for at least 2 years!

I spent countless hours reading reviews on just about every gaming headset on the market. Important things to me were fit, function and durability at a reasonable price. I did not want to go above $100, but went a little over for this headset, since a few reviews indicated it was larger than most. I wear a 7 3/4 hat size and most headsets i tried on were uncomfortably small.. This one fits me great. It is comfortable even after hours of FPS gaming action. The cord is high quality braid, the construction of the frame is metal, and the cord is long...with an in line mute switch that can clip to your clothing within easy reach. The microphone is removable and the boom is flexible for adjustment. The sound quality is excellent and friends tell me my voice comes through very clear when gaming. I have been using this headset regularly for a few weeks now, and I am very pleased with my purchase.

These were amazing! Light weight on the head and somewhat open. I mean open, because I was still able to hear the people around me talk. Was not overbearing but just enough to carry a conversation. My friends on the other side said that I was very clear. Great headset and my friends who are in need of a newer or better headset recently purchased these and loves them!

This is a nice headset, audio and mic sound quality is good and it's arguably the most comfortable headset on the market. I do kind of wish the mic boom could pivot up to mute, but it's not a deal breaking feature.

These are the perfect companion to the ps4 controller plug in. The padded crown sits naturally without too much side compression . Cavern sounds in Tomb Raider are one example of added immersion that I never new I was missing. The detachable mic is perfect for me since I don't do streaming. The addition of a extension for PC stereo and mic is an added plus. Although pricey you get what you pay for and won't be disappointed.

I'd read some rave reviews about this headset, on and off BB, so I was very interested to see what the hype was all about. I had been on the hunt for a headset to wear to take Softphone calls for work, and my son is always looking for the next best audio experience...so I picked these up at BB for what I thought was a pretty good price (based on searching Amazon and a few other sites). These are GREAT...very comfortable, excellent sound, excellent mic...neither my son nor myself has a complaint!!! I've not listened to any music with them (have other headphones for that), but my son used to use Bose QC3's before this headset...and he doesn't seem to miss the Bose!

After my A50’s broke I used the warranty money and went with the A40’s. I took them back immediately. A50’s were out of stock, after many hours of reviews from reputable sites I found these. I can’t even believe how incredible these sound. And most headsets never seem to get loud enough, these are so loud at max volume that it’s a bit uncomfortable. Best part, at max volume there is no distortion. The mic is good quality but I went with a blue yeti, paired with this headset it’s the best setup around!!

Metal and plastic construction. Great looks. Even though the headband has an auto tightening design, those with smaller size noggins may find that the headphones sit a little loosely. Boom mic is removable and is a bit difficult to get in and out the first few times. Not a ton of bass. Volume can only be adjusted if you use both of the two different wires that are included. One is an audio jack cable, the other is an audio jack cable with volume control. This does result in a ton of extra cord sitting in your lap.
