I was hoping to find some of the movies on this DVD in Blu-Ray format, but their just not available. However I found the picture and sound quality of the movies to be fantastic. I have no complaints whatsoever with this DVD. Plus your getting four classic Hammer films for one low price. I recommend this DVD, and if your a Hammer Films collector you will want to add this to your collection.

I have been a big fan of Hammer Horror Films growing up-especially the ones with Christopher Lee as Dracula. No one makes horror films like the British or Hammer! I have always been a big fan of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing especially with their Dracula films. I bought this DVD because I wanted the movie "The Gorgon" and was unable to find it as a single. I had never seen the 3 other fims on the DVD but was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the very well acted stories-especially-The Curse of the Mummy. I even reconized the classic Hammer background music from another Hammer "Mummy" movie that starred Christopher Lee as the Mummy. Everything is first class even down to the music. My only regret is that Hammer no longer makes films and you just can't get any better than Christpher Lee or Peter Cushing for Hammer Horror. Barbara Shelley is also another very talented actress from Hammer and I also seeing Patrick Troughton and Michael Ripper who also appear in many, many Hammer Films.

I would have given this 5 stars were it not for the packaging. These movies are all excellent entries in the Hammer fan's library.
If you're looking at this review, you're probably familiar with enough of Hammer's work to warrant purchasing this, especially for the price. I won't go into detail about the movies themselves as you can easily find that elsewhere. But believe me, they're all good !
The DVD quality is quite nice. Picture is crisp and audio is clear. Extras are limited to just trailers.
For those of you who have been following the Icons of Horror collections for the past few years, you may be disappointed by the packaging, especially if you're as finicky as me. Both the two earlier entires in the Icons collection (Boris Karloff and Sam Katzman) came in cardboard outer sleeves with two slim line keep cases. This new set, breaks the continuity by being presented in one basic regular sized keep case with no cardboard outer sleeve. No big deal I suppose, unless you like your sets to match nicely when displayed together.
Also, perhaps like me, you were able to vote for the cover artwork? I was glad my choice was the winner, however, the colors in the cover look quite cheap and even the paper stock feels cheap. Makes me wonder why they had that vote in the first place? To gauge interest in sales perhaps?
In a year of rather lackluster horror offerings this is a true gem.
