I honestly have never left reviews for music I even like, let alone love until David Nail turned up in my life. Mr. Nail truly warrantied it & was worth the time, energy, money & telling others about. It's the first time I've been this excited about an artist in a long, long time. I love him so much I immediately sought out to hear everything this talented guy has sang & recorded, including this early recording cd. I cannot believe I had not discovered this true gem sooner or earlier; but thank goodness I know his music now! I am simply obsessed with his lyrics & voice now, it's a touch of heaven honestly. David Nail is the absolute MOST AMAZING singer songwriter I have had the distinct pleasure of coming across by pure accident online. Check out 'That's How I'll Remember You' the Baeble Sessions, if you don't believe me, or him singing 'The Secret'). Do NOT hesitate to buy anything he sings, including his early music, if you want to hear authentic story telling, beautiful heartfelt vocals with a unique old-school burly tone with a hint of twang reminiscent of Haggard, Allan, Twitty and other greats, even a touch of Elton; plus a one of a kind delivery on certain words that will make every true country fan swoon & sway....he pronounces the word 'mascara' in the song above as 'mas-KQiara' & I cannot get enough of it! This guys the REAL DEAL & this cd will NOT disappoint! TRUE country, TRUE storyteller, TRUE musician, TRUE talent, TRUE passion, TRUE delivery, TRUE GEM IN THE ROUGH of this business & politics where sadly the industry now caters to party & beer drinking anthems only instead of pure country ballads. Not that those songs cannot or shouldn't have a place in country, just not take over true country altogether & choke the artists who want to stay true to it and not sell out to the hyped up, high-energy, boot-stompin' songs, that always do well & make the most money. A good ole cowgirl hat tipping salute to Mr.Nail for caring more about the music itself & meaning, than dollar signs. Lord knows he could sing a Chinese take-out menu aloud and it be good, so you can only imagine the success of him singing all high-stepping, beer guzzling, party anthems if he went that route only. The song 'Whatever She's Got' is a happy, high-energy, cute fun song where David showcases that side of his vocal ability. Be sure to check it out also; WARNING: it's super addictive though, you won't be able to get the catchy tune out of your head and will find yourself unable to take it off repeat! (not that that's a bad thing). Every song on this album is amazing and you'll truly enjoy listening to it & connecting it to your life & the feelings great music invokes & stirs up in you when it's done right. David Nail, is all that and then some. Can't wait until he releases his next album, tentatively titled, 'Fighter', hopefully this year. The song 'fighter' from it, is already platinum in my book, just based on youtube live concert views so far. He's impressive by all standards in music & personality. His honesty & authenticity is SO refreshing in the watered down, fake, unrelatable music cornucopia now in country music. I hope this singer songwriter gets the recognition he deserves. He has not had an easy road from listening to some of his interviews and I admire him even more for discussing his longtime battle with depression & him & his beautiful wife's infertility struggle; surely helping many others just by sharing his story & helping lift the still social stigma of this life-taking disease & I'm sure bringing other couples comfort & solace. An all-around impressive good ole boy from Mizzou with one heck of a set of pipes on him & a talented mind to articulate some of the best lyrics in the country music scene in the last decade! I'll be a fan for life!

David Nail's new album "I'm About To Come Alive" including the first hit single "Red Light" is absolutely the best piece of country music that I have purchased this year. It's just one of those CDs that you can turn on in the car and forget about everything else that's going on in the world around you and get lost in the music. Every single song on this album has something that everyday people can relate to and connect with. Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts co-wrote the song "Summer Job Days" and Kenny Chesney helped pen "Turning Home", which both gave the CD an extra edge. However, the best song on the album by far is "Strangers on a Train." The song talks about the real life emotions that come along with fantasizing about someone and how your life could have been different. David Nail is certainly destined for big things in his career. The songs are real, his voice is moving, and this album is an A+!

I have heard and downloaded 4 songs so far from this cd, and it just makes me want more! My favorite of the songs I have heard so far is "Strangers On A Train", which I have been told also has Miranda Lambert singing harmony with him.....GREAT SONG!!! And his single "Red Light" is in the top 30 on Billboard.
And the price on it's first week out at Best Buy is an amazing $7.99
