My late father worked on the railroad for nearly 40 years, beginning his career when steam locomotives were still the standard. So, of course I grew up as a train buff. As with most IMAX documentaries, the photography is excellent and many of the panoramic scenes are breathtaking. From shots taken inside the cab, to the aerials of engine #2816 steaming through the Canadian Rockies, the visuals are spectacular, especially in 4K Ultra (HDR). More so however is the compelling story behind these great images ... the story of how the Canadian transcontinental route was built. A fantastic story. If you're a train lover, then you must add this to your collection. Even if you're not, it's still worth the watch.

The 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos on this disc is the best I've seen/heard yet. If you're a rail fan you need to buy this. Put's you right in/on the engine with some of the best shots I've ever seen in a train film. I'm fortunate to have an Atmos system and when I cranked it up, it was just like sitting in the cab or standing on the platform when a steam engine train arrives. If you're not a rail fan you need to buy this for the history, scenery and all around entertainment. Unfortunately, as with most IMAX films, it's only 45 minutes long. Shame.

The story of building the first Canadian cross country railroad shown in true 4k and HDR. Using the HDR feature, or not, is a setup option. Given its limited length, it doesn't go into great detail but it covers a lot of ground. The phtography and senery are first rate. If you like history and/or steam engines then you'll enjoy this movie.

I bought this as a tech demo for my new OLED TV and enjoyed this show. I liked it enough that I will probably watch in again in the future because it was enjoyable to watch.

Incredible 4K video. The clarity and depth is simply amazing. The seanary of the mountains and the detail you can see in the trains are simply amazing. Great demo disk for 4K.

I bought this title just to test my Samsung KS8000's 4K HDR capability. I would say it is an amazing experience. I will definitely watch it again and again for sure.

It was very informative. I didn't realize it was an American Engineer whole laid out the route. I also didn't realize that they were considering a couple of routes.

An excellent story about the development of the railway system in Canada and beautifully shot in 4K. The train footage is amazing.

When you want to get a good 4K video for your new 4K Blu Ray player, this is the best one.

A must have for all history lovers, and a must have for anyone who appreciates great audio and video! Highly Recommended!

The photography is just beautiful in this 4K release. Audio track is spectacular as well. I've watched multiple times.

Picked this up to try out my new 4K blu ray player and I wasn't disappointed. This isn't something you'll return to, but pick it up cheap for a nice ride through 4K

Good movie with nice scenery. Goes through some history of the railroad and how it was built in Canada. A little dis-jointed but overall a nice movie.
