    Another fantastic CD

I go back and forth on whether this should be a four or a five. This record feels a little uneven, in that on the first listen I only liked about half of the tracks. On another day, I like the other half. Some of these have a sort of Polaris-type feel from the Pete and Pete days, but it's more reflective and subdued. About half way through the record, it switches gears and decides to go really really serious. Tracks 6 through 9 are my absolute favorites. The guitar playing and lyrics just find a fantastic jazzy groove. This is an album for a boring Spring afternoon that makes the day feel like something with more meaning. The overall theme seems to be that isolation and loneliness aren't the worst things in the world. While this doesn't have the same revelatory feel as some of Mulcahy's other CDs, it does have great songs and that's about all you need.
