Good movie, I wish this film would’ve been released much soon but it’s nice to have something other than the standard dc and marvel superhero films

After 14 years, we finally get the long awaited sequel and it doesn't disappoint. The Incredibles 2 begins where the original story ended. This storyline was great and was a welcomed addition to my movie collection.

Almost identical to the first after 14 years for a sequel, still visually impressive and fun but nothing special.

Brad Bird’s THE INCREDIBLES from 2004 is my favorite Pixar film. For years, fans clamored for a follow up and this past summer, Bird’s INCREDIBLES 2 was finally released. After so much anticipation, does it deliver? I’d say mostly yes. I think that when there’s so much wait between entries in a series, fans tend to dream up scenarios for the characters and then are let down when the end product doesn’t match what they had in their heads. With that in mind, I attempted to be as open as possible and I came away mostly satisfied. The film begins literally right where the last one left off, with the Parr family facing off against the Underminer. In a thrilling sequence, the villain escapes, but not before inflicting massive property damage on the city. This incident, along with the events of the first film, forces the government’s hand and the family will no longer receive assistance for relocation or any other services the now outlawed superheroes might require. When Mr Incredible (Craig T Nelson), Elastigirl (Holly Hunter), and Frozone (Samuel L Jackson) are contacted by the wealthy sibling owners of a telecommunications company (Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener) with a proposition to make some money while endeavoring to get superheroes decriminalized, they jump at the opportunity. Soon, though, they’ll face the threat of the mysterious Screenslaver who mesmerizes opponents and seems to be a tech genius. The sequel expands the universe of the first film by adding additional superheroes voiced by the likes of Sophia Bush and Phil LeMarr. We also have Jonathan Banks returning as the Parr family’s government handler and Isabella Rossellini as an ambassador that’s pivotal to the reinstating superheroes in the public’s good graces. The voice acting is excellent across the board, but this is Hunter’s moment to shine. As the first film mostly revolved around the bombastic, slightly lunkheaded, but well meaning Mr Incredible, this sequel shines the spotlight on the tenacious and capable Elastigirl. It’s a good move as it allows a fresh perspective on Bird’s fascinating universe. Themes include the empowering of women, overreliance on technology, and, as with the first film, the importance of family. Execution of these themes and the story itself is well done and feels like a natural progression from the first film. As with all Pixar films, the artwork and animation are gorgeous. Watching this on 4K UHD was amazing as the amount of detail was stunning. Elastigirl’s nighttime motorcycle and train action sequence was breathtaking in its clarity and presentation. Additionally, Michael Giacchino’s peppy retro score provided some welcome pace to a story that could’ve used some slight trimming. So yes, Bird’s script needing some snips is one of my nitpicks. Though even at 118 minutes, I was never bored. The other small complaint I had goes back to what I had envisioned in my head. I really wish we could’ve seen the Parr family fourteen years on instead of immediately after the last film’s ending. As I said, though, that’s not really a fair criticism. I’m very happy with Brad Bird’s INCREDIBLES 2. There are some minor missteps, I feel, but it’s overall a thrilling and entertaining film. The returning cast doesn’t miss a beat and newcomers more than hold their own. The expansion of Bird’s playground feels organic even while touching on nostalgic notes. This is a gorgeous film, as you might expect, and I highly recommend watching it on 4K UHD if you can. Even though I just watched this one for the first time, I’m already hoping for another entry. If that’s not the sign of a solid franchise, then I don’t know what is.

I love this movie, just like I loved Incredibles 1

I love this movie, just like I loved Incredibles 1, although it was released 14 years ago. Hard to believe it was that long ago. Anybody who knows comics knows that Incredibles is a straight ripoff (powers, family dynamic, plot (they even have the Mole Man, A.K.A the Underminer!) of Marvel's Fantastic Four. In fact, Incredibles #1 and #2 are both far superior to all 3 of the live-action Fantastic Four movies (Ugh! Sorry. There were 4, counting that horrible thing by Corman!). The idea of a family of superheroes is prominent in both Incredibles films. That is also what characterized the early Fantastic Four comics, but has failed to be realized with their live-action movies. My wife and I laughed and cried all the way through both Incredibles movies. We raised our children during #1 and watched them become mature adults during #2. Both movies hit home with me and my family.

As a sequel to not just one of the best animated superhero movies ever, but one of the best superhero movies, period, The Incredibles II had some mighty big shoes to fill. And boy did it fill them. While I wouldn't go so far as to say the sequel eclipsed the original, Pixar did a fine job following one brilliant movie with another. The story is fresh and does a nice job not rehashing too many tropes from the original, wisely shifting focus from Mr. Incredible to Mrs. Incredible (Elastigirl) as the primary protagonist. To avoid getting too long-winded, let me leave you with this thought: it may have taken 14 years to get our sequel, but it was well worth the wait.

I am a huge fan of the first movie. And I promise this does not disappoint. My son loved it at the theatres and the whole family loved watching it at home. Jack Jack and Enda Mode steal the show. They are hilarious. If I were giving any criticism I would say the villain is not developed as Syndrome from the first movie. In the first one, you really came to loathe Syndrome. In the 2nd one, I just didn't have that same feeling. The animation is top notch as expected and as mentioned before it is very funny! Enjoy

Our heroes pick up exactly where they left off, even though we waited years for the squeal. (Watch them in order.) Incredibles 2 not only shows our beloved characters change from experience but it introduces new adventures and new family dynamics. Helen is featured more, and finds public recognition, and Bob faces new child rearing challenges. The villain and action story do not disappoint, and there are surprises at every turn. The story is very relatable and suitable for all ages.

Another excellent PIXAR release. Super Fun continuation of the maturing, growing family keeps you engaged and entertained. Family Friendly. Presentation in 4K UHD is acceptional. Razor Sharp picture, Brilliant, Bright Accurate color. A real joy to watch. Dolby Atmos Surround track is active and enhances the flow of action extensively. Little effort and no fatigue resulted from this disc. An all around fun evening we hope to revisit soon!

This movie is great for the whole family. It's entertaining, hilarious & animated action. Our first copy we ordered was scratched & froze during a part of the movie. I returned and got another. When I returned the movie Best Buy deducted my reward points & the points weren't reapplied towards the new one. I was bummed about that but after calling I think an adjustment has been made to my account. Anyway We Love The Incredibles Disney Movies!!!

Our family (and friends) love the Incredibles for its fun story and characters and it's been unanimous that # 2 is as good if not better than the first. It's worth the extra $ to have the steelbook version allowing us to view in any of the formats that work for the theatre room (4K), kids TV (Blu-ray) or streaming off the house digital server. Also, it's nice that the case isn't too big to fit in our rather tight disc drawer.

I have 3 grandsons. They are 4, 7 & 9 years old. I have been giving them movies whenever I visit. They had been asking for Incredibles 2 before it was released on disc. When it finally came out I jumped on this copy at Best Buy. I like to buy the DVD and Blu-ray combo versions so they can watch the DVD on their portable car player and the Blu-ray on their HD TV. They love it and I enjoy it too.
