Technically it was a good followup to the previous movie of Independence Day, but there were some things that just didn't add up. There were a few things that were a little strange in the acting as if there was a section of the movie missing. However, if you can ignore some of the parts concerning this, you can enjoy the movie. What I did like was that there was no real deus ex machina involved and the victory was a hard fought one. Brent Spiner reprising his role was also a joy. As a whole, the acting was well done, but seemed to be missing the concept that millions had died, but it was OK in the end. I got the feeling that the view was supposed to already have that same feeling carried over from 20 years (movie time) to the current time. The tech stuff was really neat, but I really wanted to see how life had changed in the 20 years gone by with all the changes in tech and the world re-populating itself. Yes, there was some shots of large, upgraded cities, but not of the average Joe like there was in the first movie. This hampered being able to relate to the person 20 years in the high-tech future.

The Independence Day movie is a classic science fiction movie. The special effects look amazing on Blu Ray. Will Smith really makes this movie funny yet the movie has lots of action. The Independence Day Resurgence movie was not that good. It lacks the character chemistry of the first Independence Day movie.

I mean, who doesn't love Independence Day? I had been looking to upgrade to the Blu Ray version of the first film because seeing monuments spectacularly explode just screams to be done in High Definition, but when Best Buy had both movies for such a low price, I jumped at the chance to score this double feature. Definitely not disappointed.

Just picked this up today at Best Buy, as I ordered it only two days ago; so as I was reading the backside of it, before opening the cellophane wrapping, I noticed where “Digital HD” information gives an instruction that a Digital HD Code is included so Concumers can therefore “Instantly Steam and Download” the movie, if desired. PROBLEM, I find that gives me reason for my questionable Rating: it says, “DIGITAL HD CODE MAY NOT BE VALID AFTER 2019”. (????) So now what; what if I was hoping to download or stream this move, perhaps on my tablet or computer, to watch while not at home, using a Code that expired a year ago? Hmm. How old is this movie and how long has it been sitting on the shelf at Best Buy? Do I call to make a complaint to the number on the back of the movie box? Maybe

Great 2 disc science fiction collection. Will Smith plays a great part in the 1st movie. I wish he would've been in the 2nd. I hadn't seen the 2nd movie. It's not shown much. Can be watched by the family, if kids are a little older.

The movie was entertaining. A little hard to catch on who was who...many years later from 1st Independence movie. If you collect such movies, its a good movie to own

Excellent classic film bundled with a new story for the new generation of film lovers. It was great to see the old cast revive their roles, except for Will Smith. He brought the charm and excitement in the first, but it was difficult to find out that he was not included in the second film.

Got this to watch the second movie of the set as I'd not seen before and only own the original on VHS. So both on bluray was a good deal made even better by finding out it was on sale when I purchased at register. Enjoyed the second movie nice special effects ok plot and ending setup for a sequal using all new characters.

A July 4th must see movie every year. This buy includes the second movie of Resurrection also. And it's at least in Blu Ray and Digital Copy for current tech.

If you like the series this was a great deal. Didn't need to overpay for each move just got this hidden set for the price of one film. Story was good the first time in theaters and the follow up has some great surprises, fun stuff. Perfect date nite double header viewing.

It contains the unrated cut of the film that adds 9 minutes of footage, which is what I was mainly looking for. Also comes with the sequel which is a plus despite not living up to the first film's legacy.

I rate this cause I have seen this 2 disc collection. The special features are okay. No problem with these movies and it's better with the set instead of having them separately. Independence Day has the unrated version and the theatrical version.

How can you go wrong with the classic Independence Day movie? The newer one is a good movie, but would have been better had they been able to cast Will Smith in this one too. We got this combo movie pack for a great price - nice to have it in our movie collection.

Two great movies in the same box. This is the original movie and the sequel. I really liked the original movie and I wasn’t sure how the second one would be without Will Smith but it turned out to be a great movie as well.

Interesting story on how Earth will foil the aliens yet again. Some comic relief once again from Brent Spiner as the resident doctor who studied the aliens in the first movie. And, yup, he has "contact" with them again. . .lol

Great movie, mostly wanted to first one with Will Smith. But the double feature was on sale. Price was great, less than $10 for brand new.

I thought the movies where great, number 2 was just as good as the first. I could watch them over and over, for a long time too come. The Movie's I'm reffering to, are Independance Day & Independance Day Insurgance,

One of the best ways to test your surround is with this movie, it’s also fun to watch over and over again. Best always has good movies on sale.

Independence Day has long been one of my favorite movies. The sequel brought added excitement, but it ended up being a partial let down. 5 stars for the original and extras/ 2 stars for the sequel. I give it a generous 4 stars for the original.

First Independence day excellent. It was a great supersize to find out a month ago that there was a second one. This one was just as good as the first. Better yet both movies cam in the same package.
