If you like creating collections add this Temple of Doom to your Indiana Jones collection. Full of action, sometimes serious and sometimes funny. You won't be disappointed. It's a great movie.

Third best of the trilogy. Well worth watching.

This is the third best of the trilogy. A little too dark in content, and not enough laughs, but you must see this one as you will enjoy the third "Last Crusade" even more. My 16 year old had seen Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and commented that she had never see any of the original trilogy. We promptly got the 3 DVD's and watched them in sequence. It was a real treat as we hadn't seen them in years.

This movie personally takes a back seat to the first film. This time around the plot of the movie is really not at that clear, but we are introduced to some new setpieces, and characters,an easily frightened nightclub chanteuse singer Willie(Kate Capshaw) and a 12 year old kid named Short Round(Quan Ke Huy).Director Steven Spielberg is once again behind the camera, and this time it seems that the thrills out weight the story. From jumping out of an airplane with an inflatiable raft, beging crushed to death with a spiked ceiling,or the abandon mineshaft rollercoaster ride,it all seems to work. But some of the audience members maybe a bit grossed out when it comes to a particular diner scene, monkey brains anyone? But the film is enjoyable

I am a fan of Indiana Jones, and liked the whole series, therefore, I bought all the movies for my video library. Harrison Ford never disappoints, in his role as Indiana Jones, and there is always plenty of action.

The worst Indiana Jones movie

I loved Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. In between those to, the same team made this.
While the other two were fun, exciting adventures with a sense of humor, this one is dark and unpleasant.
The beginning is visually fun but not engaging. Once the plot moves to the underground mines, it gets nasty. With it's theme of enslaved children forced to work in a mine, I suspect it would cause nightmares in any preteens. The level and quality of the violence makes it inappropriate for older people with a brain. (I don't mind violence that works but the word that springs to mind most often when I think of Temple of Doom is "sadistic.")
The final chase using the underground rail system is exciting and visually appealing, but it doesn't begin to redeem this picture in my eyes.

i'm not comparing this movie to 'raiders of the lost ark' or 'the last crusade.' this movie is my favorite one out of the 3. it's suspensful and i just love all the fighting scenes minutes before they get onto the minecarts. i find it entertaining and was really happy when i found out it's coming out on dvd.

Good dvd, bad Film

'Temple of Doom' is a terribly pathetic film, especially compared to the first Indiana Jones movie. This dvd contains the same widescreen transfer as released in 2003, plus some new, but minor bonus material that don't make this one worth buying if you already own the 2003 box set.
