    Growing on me

So far I've listened to the new Deep Purple record InFinite 3-4 times through. It has grown on me each time. I don't think it is fair to compare the Blackmore era to the Morse era, so I'll just refer the past 2-3 records. I have been enjoying this one more than the last, Now What, but not as much as Rapture. The music is in the style of both of those, so you know what you are getting (assuming you are familiar with those albums). To me the stand out tracks are: All I got is you, Birds of Prey, Hip boots. I bought the deluxe edition, but have not watched the DVD yet, so no comment on that.

    Deep Purple still rocks!

For a band that pretty much invented hard rock, 50 years ago, these guys are still rocking and rollin' along, and pretty hard. While certainly nowhere near their legendary classic albums, InFinite may be their best release in a quite a long while, perhaps since the late 80's. All the tracks are pretty decent, with a few standouts that really grab you. For Deep Purple fans, this is a MUST-OWN. For hard rock fans, this will be a pleasant surprise.

First time I had heard about this new release from the great Deep Purple was seeing it on the shelf at Best Buy, but I decided to take a chance on it and boy am I glad I did! Awesome new tunes, and awesome production by the legendary Bob Ezrin, make "Infinite" their best album since their seventies heyday, and the included DVD documentary film, of the making of the album, is every bit as impressive as the new music! Do yourself a favor and buy Deep Purple's latest "Infinite" today.

Listening to Infinite I found myself paying more attention to the lyrics. These are a bunch of old and interesting guys who want to tell you the way they see life at this stage of theirs. The album is fresh although there is nothing groundbreaking here. The band chemistry is evident. The rhythm section is very tight. You could tell that they had fun in the studio and I hope that they continue entertaining us with classic hard rock music for years to come!

Good for this stage in their careers

You're not going to get that classic, '70s Deep Purple sound anymore because frankly, these guys are up there in years. Ian Gillan simply can't scream the way he used to, and they're a little more laid back than they used to be. But there are some really good songs on here, including the lead-off single "Time for Bedlam". I would call this one of their best albums of the new millennium though, if not their best.

Deep Purple has made a career of putting out killer Rock albums, and this one is no different. I have it 4 stars because I feel that it is not quite as good as their previous effort, and I was surprisingly disappointed in the cover of "Roadhouse Blues", which really isn't good. But, overall, this album really rocks and the band is in as good a shape as ever. Definitely suggest this album for any Deep Purple fan!

If you like Deep Purple--and you probably do if you're reading this--you will surely like their new album. It's not my favorite post-Blackmore album (that would be Purpendicular) but I'd say it's top 3. It actually rocks pretty hard and has great sound/production. And the DVD has a really interesting behind-the-scenes look at them making it as well as a bit of a history lesson on the band. Get it.

    Deep Purple Still Going Strong

These guys show no sign of slowing down or giving up. Just like their last outing "Now What?!", InFinite rocks pretty hard and showcases each member's talent. With nothing to prove to anyone but themselves, they sound like they're playing what they want and having fun doing it. The CD does take a listen or two for you to hone in on your personal highlights, but it's well worth it. Get it and if you can, see them live when they tour.

Been a Deep Purple fan since 1968,but will be honest enough to admidt that for every fantastic lp,they have recorded a few that were uneven and the occasional dud. INFINITE is one of their best and I've played it for days and am not tired of it.Its fresh, exciting ,well written and performed. Bought the deluxe version with a DVD documentary on the making of it that yielded a couple f suprises.

Deep Purple displays superb musicianship on their latest (and last?) outing. It is not as "hook-laden" as Now What!? but entertaining nonetheless. My favorite track is The Surprising but there are really no fillers here. All contributors are in fine form, including Gillan. It's a solid release that I appreciate more and more with repeated listening.

    Deep Purple Strike Again!

For lovers of classic Deep Purple, InFinite will definitely please you. Roger Glover writing is as tight as ever. Don Airey is a more than ample replacement for the late Jon Lord. The performance is tight, and production pristine. I'm not sure it will lure any new fans. More seasoned fans will find InFinite a real joy.

"Infinite" is a solid CD, and while not quite as good as the previous "Now What", it is very close. Surprising slow version of Roadhouse Blues is interesting though one wishes for a more energetic overall CD with less power ballads. Rumored to be their final studio release as a functioning group. Worth a listen.

After Almost five decades of Playing, and various line ups Deep Purple is still going strong. Steve Morse does some nice guitar work on this album his been around for awhile and has pay his dues. Over this a solid piece of music Gillian's voice still has power behind it. I like the song writing very much.

    Not Perfect But Good

This is 3/5ths of the original band, with the other two 'new' guys having been with them maybe a total of 35 years, the group functions very well. A couple ballads too many, and a rather weak rendition of Roadhouse Blues, but the rest is definitely worth hearing.

I love this album. It was very easy from the first go around to get into. Some highlights include Time for Bedlam and One Night In Vegas. The accompanying DVD shows the band working in the studio and is well worth the extra few dollars that you need to spend for this CD/DVD combo.

There are cuts in this newest release that remind you of the best of Deep Purple, but many others that are pretty routine. If you are a fan of the group, it is worth a listen. If you are new to them, this may not be the best example of their musical relevance.

One of the best Deep Purple albums since the departure of Ritchie Blackmore. Although they have been around for almost 50 years, they can still rock. All the songs are excellent, with Time for Bedlam probably the best. Excellent keyboard/organ throughout. Great album!

Really superb album from Deep Purple. They really sound like they hit their stride once again. Steve sounds and plays closer to earlier Blackmore. Not trying to copy him but bring back some of that earlier flavor. Don Airey is simply on fire.
