Great dryer if you don't want to spend over $500

I'm a college student who didn't have a lot of money to spend on a fancy LG or Samsung dryer. This dryer is energy effecient, has a large capacity, and easy to use. Set up was easy and it is actually light weight. I got the three year warranty because I have three other roommates that use it. So far, no problems. It usually takes about 40-45 minutes to completely dry a full load on the energy saver setting. I would recommend this dyer to anyone on a budget.

Not bad at all for a no frills dryer...

For the price, you really can't go wrong with this one... I looked around for weeks, knowing that my old one was on its last legs. Motor finally seized on it, so I had to act quickly, and decided on this for the price. Added a $25 gift card to bring it to $299+ and got 6 months same as cash financing... that made it even easier. But so far (<2 weeks) it's done a great job of drying various types of clothes. It is somewhat noisy, but meh... it's a no frills dryer. It's not like one of the high end front loaders with ball bearing tracks for the drum. If I close the pantry door, I can't really hear it. But to those having problems drying, my experience is that it's typically not the dryer, especially a new dryer. Perhaps the washer isn't spinning high enough to get the water out of your clothes, or your ventilation for the dryer is clogged. I bought a duct snake with bristle end and cleaned out the duct (runs under slab) on mine 3 years ago, and it was totally full of lint, hair and who knows what from previous owners and years of use. Dryer worked really well after that. But I have also had bad washers as well that don't spin up fast enough. This can dramatically affect dryer performance. Be sure to install a semi-rigid duct from the back of the dryer to the wall as well... this really helps airflow... the flexi-pipes kink way too easily. That's just my 2 cents, but as of now, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

    Get the 4 year warranty

Pros: We always had to dry things twice from the get-go. But, I suppose that could be attributed to the size/content of the loads. Our laundry room is small. This fits in tight spots. Had all the features we wanted. Cons: Ours died after 2 years - wouldn't dry clothes, wouldn't heat up, wouldn't start. Finally, it refused to start one last time. Repairs are more expensive than the dryer. We got a cheap used one off craigslist since we were in a pinch. That's lasted us about 18 months. Now that one is giving us issues. I'm not so sure I'd get this one again but they all seem to last about 2 years. Now, the washer has done great this whole time. Get something of better quality if you can afford it. Otherwise, I'd recommend - WITH the 4-yr warranty.

Many times online reviews are skewed by those who didn't buy the higher end product that would have satisfied their needs to make them happy in the first place, or they received lemon units. This is one of those reviews where a decent, cheaper product is so inundated with negative reviews. First, BestBuy has a no lemon policy, so there's no problem there, check it out. And by all means, as with any low grade cheaper product, buy the extended warranty... $79.99 for 3 years on this one. It covers everything and BestBuy will take care of you quickly. Don't mess around with the slow, one-year manufacturer's warranty where you'll be waiting around for weeks for them to dispatch service and/or parts. You get what you pay for, and in this case, what you pay for is just enough for my needs as a single guy with one roommate. Sure, if you're a family of 8, don't get this unit... of course, upgrade. But if you're in an apartment or in a smaller family, this is a cheap option that is a totally suitable alternative to the overpriced name brands. It's got a really big interior and I don't even use the high setting because the energy efficient medium, "automatic" dry setting does the job to dry in one run. And 13 months later, both the washer and dryer work just as well as they did on day one. By the way, this "Inglis" brand is manufactured by Whirlpool (there's a nearly identical unit sitting 2 models over in the store made by Whirlpool and with its name brand tag for $599)! I got both the Inglis washer and dryer in store for $499!! I say go for it... I'm glad that I did. More expensive isn't always better.

After 4 months of use I still love it. It doesn't seem any louder to me than others. It dries great, fast on high, low is more like medium-low. The only thing is it doesn't have a buzzer to tell alert you when it's done. But for this low price and it works great, I just set the oven timer. The matching washer is fantastic as well. All new washers are awful because they aren't allowed to use very much water. But the washer does wash at high level, and rinses at max allowable which is about 1/3 full. I just run each load again short wash to fully rinse. I love mine.

    Great Buy

When our last dryer, which lasted 27-years, died we were on a quick search for a replacement. Living on a budget and always looking for an economical value the $255 price tag on this machine caught our eye. We've only had it for a couple of days but I'm certain it was a good pick. Larger capacity than old faithfull, good selection of drying modes and, despite what others have written, runs quiet in my book. Inglis isn't a well known brand name but they're a Canadian company owned by Whirlpool and internet product reviews were positive. True, it doesn't have a cycle buzzer but, to save $75 - $100, I'll get off my butt to go out to the garage and check. I'd tell anyone this machine is a great value purchase.

This dryer has worked very well for my wife and I. We have had it for two years and have had no reliability issues. It works very well, and my only gripe with it is the timer for lower heat settings. There is a 30 minute maximum for low heat, and I have to add time to it when doing large loads. I dry most of my clothing on low heat to prevent damage so the timer can be annoying, but it is a minor issue for us.

We needed a new dryer to replace an old broken one at christmas time. The week before actually. This dryer was under $300 and had good features for this low price range. Drys best on automatic and is much faster drying than the old one it replaced! It drys the load in it before the washer has new load finished when both started at the same time. Quiet operation too. Others complained of this dryer being noisy, I don't have any problem with this one. Runs smooth and well so far. It is on concrete floor in finished basement. All we did was level it well, and cleaned/hooked up the existing metal vent exhaust, and 3 prong wire. Less than 30 mins all done. Oh and we reversed the door too, easy per instructions, to fit our placement better. We're happy with it!

    Very Good Buy

This dryer is an awesome buy for the price. It's extremely large on the inside which allows even your blue jeans or towels to fall apart while tumbling and dry super quick. The only downfalls are that it is just a tad noisy, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a bargain. Its really no louder than a dishwasher. The dryer only runs in 30 minute increments, so if your clothes aren't done in 30 minutes, you must go turn it back on. The only time I have had to do this is on my comforter for my bed. This machine could really use a buzzer, but for me its okay without it, but is something to note. Overall GREAT buy and would recommend to anyone looking for a good dryer at a bargain price.

So my last dryer started making a very horrible loud sound. I took it apart and could not get to what i needed to fix it and repair companies cost way to much. Unfortunately it started this at inopportune time and was forced to buy a cheaper washer. Was very nervous about this buy considering it is not a big name product and my husband had read mediocre review. Let me just say I LOVE IT!!! I recently bought a new place and my husband has been deployed so in the first 3 days of owning this I was able to pull all his clothes and my summer ones out of storage. I probably did 7 Loads the first 72 hrs of owning it and I was impressed. It is huge to begin with, I only have to set the dryer once for extra large loads to dry, and that includes a load of all jeans and towels. It is balanced so it does not shake my house and it is so quiet i forget it is running sometimes. I NEVER write reviews but seeing these bad ones really upset me so i figured I would put my 2 cents in. I also NEVER buy anything esp from best buy without adding Geek Squad Black Tie Protection. I am covered for 4 years and can renew after those 4 years. Price was cheap and I am cover from basically anything. They come to my house to work on it if it ever breaks they pay me so much money if it breaks so that i can do laundry at laundry mat and if it is unable to be fixed i get a brand new one. Everyone who only uses manufacturers warranty needs to look into this. Not only for washer but anything. Best Buys Geek squad services are amazing...Next time you will think twice when they ask you if you are interested. Over all no problems love my dryer works amazingly and would recommend to anyone!! Dont be fooled the geek squad isnt just for computers and musical instruments

This dryer is a spectacular deal for the price. I've used it for 2 years and it does exactly what I need it to. While it doesn't have an extended drying option, I am perfectly satisfied with using the automatic dry feature for my clothes. The capacity is plenty large for handling loads from a comparable washer, as well.

This dryer works very well...large loads of denim and towels come out dry in one cycle. Price was less than $300, a great deal for this size appliance. Had to purchase new power cord because it was no simple task to remove the existing one, and installers won't switch them out, no problem, only $25 more. Two minor drawbacks are that the door is on a side-hinge(this is changeable depending on which side you want it to open on) and it closes before I load/unload clothes UNLESS it's pushed all the way open. Also, there is no end of cycle chime, but I really don't miss that.

we've had this dryer for 2 1/2 years and haven't had any issues w/ it, other than the fact that you have to dry everything on high heat. i've never used a dryer where this was the case, but beggars can't be choosers. it was the dryer we could afford at the time, so we make do. it gets the job done. i really like the wrinkle-prevention feature, although i rarely use it. one of the best dryers i've ever used for getting lint/pet hair/etc. off clothes!

i purchased this dryer because it was the cheapest one and i needed a new dryer in a pinch, plus it was on sale and i had a 10% coupon. as far as function goes well, it dries clothes but just barely and only after at least two cycles but more likely four if loaded and three if just a couple pairs of pants and undies... it has a auto dry however it is just a timer with different words, it has no light, no timer, no sensor, but a good filter. after studying the machine over i noticed both the incoming hot air and exhaust vent were located at the back only about 2inchs from each other i realized this dryer only blows hot air right then out. my old dryer from the 80's at least move the air from the back thru the drum then out the front forcing air thru the clothes. not this dryer, we tried everything possible to auto dry and unless you like drying two pairs of socks at a time or just really need the cheapest drier such as i did SKIP IT buy something else. oh well good starter drier for us young couple. it is quiet however, if you dont over load it and the filter is very easy to clean

    Best Dryer EVER

I wrote a review for the matching washer, I love it and I LOVE this dryer! I really hate doing laundry so when I do it I make the loads as big as possible! I shove as much as I can in the washer and all of it goes in the dryer at once and comes out dry the first time!!! I literally have used 2 baskets before to hold all the clothes I will pull out of the dryer at once! Its soo nice to have them bone dry without multiple cycles! My washer and dryer are in my garage and so I don't notice the noise as much but it can be loud and there's no way to keep it from ringing when its done, which is a pain when you have a baby but other than that I LOVE it!

I bought the washer and electric Dryer about two months ago. So far - so good. The dryer hooked up easily and I don't have any of the problems listed on some of the reviews below. The machine does not walk - maybe because I leveled it properly before using it. The machine is not noisy compared to other dryers. It is located in a separate laundry room in a second floor apartment and I can close the door and not be bothered with the sound. The only thing that bothers me so far is that the clothes do not dry on the low heat setting with th maximum time - so I have to run them through twice. If I wanted to spend three times the amount and get a machine that is more energy efficient and gentle then I would have. It's just not that high of a priority with me. I think it is excellent for the price."

Perfect replacement dryer at a nice price that does not have any frills. Basic dryer that works great, and if you carefully read and examine what it does and does not have you will see it is a very basic dryer of good size that does not have any frills. You get what you pay for, and for us, this was a great buy!

My husband and I purchased the washer/dryer set in Jan 2008. They both work great! The dryer works well and we are happy with the setting/options. The energy saver setting (30 mins) works quite well. That setting dries our towels and jeans very well which says a lot about the dryer bc those items usually take a long time to dry. The GE we had in our rental house quit working about 2 weeks ago. I like this dryer so much that I purchased the same one to replace the dryer that quit working at my rental house.

After having a used dryer for years, my wife and I finally decided to purchase a new dryer. This particular dryer caught my eye because of the price. This is a FANTASTIC dryer. It works so much better than our old one. We mostly use the low setting and the 30 minutes is usually enough to dry any of our loads, except high volume towels. It may not be the quietest dryer out there, but we have a laundry room so that doesn't matter to us. I HIGHLY recommend this dryer.

I recently purchased the Inglis Electric Dryer. I am so pleased with it. My old dryer was 28 years old and I wanted a more energy efficient dryer. I wash lots of heavy work clothes and the automatic dry cycle has dried them perfectly every time when using the preferred energy setting. It is equally as efficient with other types of clothing and towels, etc. Even though it has no interior light or buzzer, my old one didn't either so I don't miss those. This is an extremely good value for the money.
