World War II, QUENTIN TARENTINO style. One of his best !!!

This movie is just over the top. A great movie for any collection. Must watch more than once.

Took 3 tries before I received a copy that wasn't badly damaged by Best-buy's pathetic shipping materials. 3rd copy is dented as well, just not as badly. Movie is fantastic!!! Steelbook is attractive as well. Poor revieq is for BestBuy only.

Movie was great as expected, but definetly not to watch with children.

This movie was director Tarantino's biggest hit since "Pulp Fiction." Yet, judging from some of the reviews, many weren't happy with what they saw. Blame it partly on the marketing, which presented this as a Brad Pitt movie (he's only in it about 25 minutes) and a dark comedy, which it isn't (though it does have some humorous parts). Still, this is a remarkable, if flawed film. The three extended scenes are film-making of a very high order, and the remainder is never less than fascinating in that offbeat Tarantino way. I enjoyed the history rewrite, with Jews taking revenge on the Germans in gory but deliciously vivid ways. However, I also felt the director was pulling some punches, going for instant gratification instead of really probing the nature of good and evil that might have raised this to the level of a true classic. Still, watching Tarantino move with such ease into such a different genre is exciting. I think his best movies are yet to come, if he can restrain his impulse to always place style slightly ahead of substance.
