PT Anderson adapts Pynchon! Such a great counterculture study, a total treat for cinema buffs. Definitely a grandchild of Robert Altman's The Long Goodbye. It takes the PI film noir genre and goes it's own way.

Inherent Vice was a mix of great humor, mystery and nostalgia. The dialogue was rich, and the story was filled with many unique situations. Joaquin Phoenix leads a wonderful cast in this noir tale.

A brilliantly complex and meandering mystery in the tradition of The Big Sleep. Blu could use better features, but PTA has never done much by way of extras. AV quality is excellent.

Great film, would recommend. Definitely deserved more recognition. PTA is a great director, the cinematography in the movie is amazing really makes you feel like you're in the 70's.

Whoever came up with the idea for this movie is truly a genius. How retro can you be? Great movie and excellent cast and portrayal of the subject.

It was an interesting exercise in filmmaking, and if you rea dsome other reviews, you might also glean that a confusing Thomas Pynchon novel has indeed been made into a confusing film. I felt like I understood the plot somewhat along the way, then the film would just throw in a scene that felt childish and unecessary. I am excited about the Ultraviolet version of discs, as I am a huge fan of being able to hold a physical copy (comes in handy when we go to remote parts of Maine and only have a Blu-Ray...no internet) and I can watch the digital copy while commuting.

Absolutely love this movie, blu ray looks great. Unpopular opinion but I think it's Paul Thomas Anderson's most entertaining film.

EXCELLENT FILMS VERY IMPRESSED. THE STORE HAD PLENTY when i went in the day it was released. I only wish they had a steelbook option when i bought it, overall a great Paul Thomas Anderson film

PTA brings us more interesting characters to watch. Unfortunately, the length and heavy dialogue make the film hard to follow. I wouldn't recommend if your attention span is short.
