Fun set of older films, and purchased at a good price.

Great collection, with some nice extras. The only mark against it is the poor (very dark) picture quality for the final film, Pillow of Death. Best Buy’s description is a bit lacking of the movies included: Calling Dr. Death – 1943 - A doctor is not sure if he murdered his wife and has his nurse try to find the truth by hypnotizing him. Weird Woman – 1944 – While on a trip, a professor falls in love with an exotic native woman who turns out to be a supernatural being. Dead Man's Eyes – 1944 - When an artist is blinded, an operation to restore his sight depends on another person willing to donate their eyes. The Frozen Ghost – 1945 – A stage mentalist and a discredited plastic surgeon are involved in mysterious goings-on in an eerie wax museum. Strange Confession – 1945 – Flashbacks reveal the events leading up to a man's revenge on the racketeer who took advantage of his wife. Pillow of Death – 1945 - A lawyer in love with his secretary is suspected of suffocating his wife, among others.

I was concerned with Mill Creek handling this set instead of Shout Factory. However, I have enjoyed the extras Mill Creek has put together. The short documentaries and three commentaries were very enjoyable and informative and the booklet included was very nice. The first five movies also look great are are huge upgrades over the original DVD set from Universal. No restoration has been done, but the additional clarity easily makes up for the minor imperfections in the prints used.

Fantastic deal on a box set of these Universal classics. If you like Lon Chaney Jr. in the Universal Horror movies, you'll love this set of films. A total of six films, each running a little over an hour. All six films look great in hi-definition! Not fully horror, more like horror/mystery movies, these make a great way to pass a rainy afternoon. Binge watch them like it was Netflix of the 1940s!

This is a very good release from Mill Creek Entertainment. It has lots of extras to go with the six films. The only downside is that one of the films, PILLOW OF DEATH, has not been restored to as good-looking as the other five. Although it is of lesser A/V quality, it is still watchable. Mill Creek Entertainment seems to be improving their quality a lot lately.

So I just picked up this item today from the Post Office. I remember watching this on the TV when I was growing up. It was really scary back in the day. I am looking forward to watching this in upgraded Blu-ray. I think it will bring back memories and I will enjoy it all over again.

A solid collection of spooky B-mystery movies starring the great Lon Chaney. At 70 minutes per film they don’t overstay their welcome. Recommended for fans of Universal horror, who will notice plenty of familiar names in the cast and crew.

I've always been a big fan of Lon Chaney Jr., and it's great to see a lesser known series like this make it to blu-ray. Hopefully studios will continue to release more of their back catalogue on physical media.

Great collection of these “B” movies featuring Lon Chaney Jr. Make no mistake, these are not cinematic masterpieces. But they are fun movies and it is great to have them all in one collection.

Getting this on Blu ray as an upgrade is fantastic as its been a favorite of mine forever. The sale was too good to miss. Very happy!

So cool! These films are a little slow and sleepy, but they look so gorgeous and are exciting to have.
