This is Tame’s first album. One thing to note is where Kevin Parker first started with his sound has definitely evolved. This is more of the 60s rock sounds where The Slow Rush and Currents is more of the sync beats influence. I’m obsessed with all albums, but i think it’s special to have the first. Sound is made for vinyl in my opinion.

This record and the one to follow it, Lonerism, are excellent and should be listened to by children in school and studied by scientists.

Easily one of my favorite albums and I’m glad to say that the vinyl sounded great!

My first introduction to these guys was their sophomore album Lonerism with the track "Gotta Be Above It." My initial reaction was that "Oh cool, they're sampling John Lennon stuff I never heard. No, this is what songwriter and Tame Impala's heavly lifting front man Kevin Parker sings exactly like. So much so that my first listens of these 2 albums were hampered because of it's distraction. After the second time around you just learn to love the Lennon-esque feel. From start to finish this album is great. They though out basic verse, chorus, verse, bridge, chorus structure of most songs and present a beautiful soundscape with catchy lyrics bass lines and riffs. Kenvin did very will to layer many sounds of this album, sweeping phasers, dreamy synths, and echos background vocals gives this album an amazing 60's psychedelic feel beyond anything we've ever got from the 60's. To say this band has a lot of respect for sound and did well to show it would be a vast understatement. Though there were a couple of down spots like Jeremy's Storm I thought could be elaborated more, it still ended up as a nice piece overall and more than made up for by tracks like Lucidity, It's Not Meant To Be, and Make Up Your Mind. Overall this is one of my new favorite albums of all time. I simply have a hard time putting this band down.
