After using it for a month, the microwave works great. It does not take too much space in my small kitchen so that’s a plus. It is only 700W, so it might take a little bit longer to cook or defrost frozen meals, but it does the job well. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because one time I tried microwaving a regular bag of popcorn and it got burnt due to the fact that it was too big for the microwave and it did not rotate. However, I used a smaller bag of popcorn and all was well.

This compact is a replacement for a full sized 1100 watt Magic Chef. I don't really see that there is a big difference in the amount of time needed to heat the food. The interior is perfect for a dinner plate and a food cover and still allow rotation for even heating. It has all the features that my full sized microwave had and takes up a lot less room. I recommend this product if you have to keep your microwave on the counter and don't have a lot of space.

This is a really nice compact Insignia Microwave. The black & white two tone is beautiful It has no ANNOYING buzzing One beep is all that's needed. A lovely push button makes easy to open. Everything cooks just right.

It's a nice micro wave that saves me time and stress of cooking all time as I cook and preserve in the fridge, I only warm in minutes when necessary.

Bought this for my work place. Nice looking, reasonably priced, and seems to work well. Happy with purchase.

i was in need of a microwave saw this one, bought it and when i recieved it i could hear a noise inside took it out and it had burnt spots and cracked plate with popcorn(unpopped) inside. In the end i gave it to my friend and told him to dispose of it. Never gonna buy open box again.

Got it on sale for $35, aesthetically looks like a more expensive model, and it works exactly as advertised. This was hands down the best microwave under $40, and I looked everywhere. Who really uses a microwave for more than reheating leftovers or cooking popcorn or oatmeal? Large enough for a single dinner plate or bowl, rotating glass, a clear, easy to use interface, no need for anything else. I've only used for a couple of months, so can't speak to longevity, but it's under $40, looks and works fantastic, and appears to be designed well with quality parts. I've had my 42" Insignia LCD TV for 8 years with zero problems, for being a Best Buy store brand, it's fantastic.

Having moved into a small studio apartment recently, I needed a microwave as the apartment had none. Looked at a number of competitor brands that were similar, but all at a higher price. I decided on this Insignia model and have not been disappointed. It operates flawlessly, heats evenly, and does everything a microwave is supposed to do. The one I purchased was an all black model on sale at Best Buy, but it also comes as a white and a chrome model similarly priced. A good deal if you don't have a lot of counter space and don't want to overpay for a competitive brand that wouldn't work any better than this one.

The microwave is small but does its job very well. My food was heated evenly. The price of the microwave is good. It is good for dorm use. My only complain is the black one easily get fingerprints .

i needed a temporary microwave and this one seems to do the trick. It sits on the counter and I will only use it until my built in gets repaired and then I will give to my elderly parents, since they would like something smaller and on the counter so they can slide the dishes straight out to the counter. since they have issues with dishes being to heavy for them. Easy to use, just push a number and it will start. So puch # 2 and it cooks for 2 min. It has the turntable with the removeable glass for easy cleaning.

I bought the Insignia™ - 0.7 Cu. Ft. Compact Microwave - Black the day my other microwave died. Before I bought it I read all of the reviews on the Best Buy website. There were people who said if you READ the manufacturer's instructions/guidelines for making things in this microwave it works fine...and YES...that is TRUE! It is the perfect size for my small kitchen and small counter top area. My ONLY complaint is I LOVE to make popcorn using the kernels that you buy at the store not the pre-made junk and popcorn does NOT come out well in this microwave. That is my ONLY complaint. Otherwise it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I do not cook in the microwave, I heat coffee, I make frozen veggies and mostly reheat and it is FINE! When making something like frozen veggies, as others have said READ the bag, this microwave asks you for the ounces and if you punch in the correct number of ounces it is perfectly hot when finished. Yes, it doesn't hold giant dinner plates, but it does hold average size dinner plates and my coffee cup/mug/canister is larger and that fits just fine. For the price, it is perfect. Except for how it makes popcorn I am pleased.

After reading about 50 reviews on the name brands and being disappointed, I looked at the Insigna reviews. I found them to be good and informative. It led me to purchase this microwave. The under $50 price did not hurt. I found the unit to be quite, small enough for the kitchenette yet cooks and heats well. You do have to add about 30 seconds to items when heating over what my old larger microwave would have needed but that is easily accomplished by just pushing the start button for an extra 30 seconds.
