    Don't even think about buying this microwave

    I bought this microwave on November 14th, 2019 and it stopped working today (January 23, 2020) as I write this review. Technically it lasted 2 months and worse than that is that my returning time expired on January 14th. Now I am stuck with a microwave that doesn't work and wondering how am I going to get a new one. You want my advice -- DO NOT BUY this piece of this product. But of course, they will not post this review since they reserve the right post or not post a review.

    Stay Away faulty buttons

    Terrible microwave. Had it for 2 years but it began failing after 6 months. The buttons dont function as in when i press 1 minute on mocrowave it doesnt do anything and has ticking noise when operating. Would not recommend.

    Arrived in a destroyed box with no top! How does someone at Best Buy think it’s acceptable to ship this way. I can’t physically pick this up to exchange it to send back besides box is a mess. You should help customers instead of taking their hard earned money. Customer service could not help because they said they do not make up the policies.

    The carousel moves when you remove a plate from microwave. The carousel fell out and cracked in half. I tried to get a new carousel calling best buy and got jerked around. I won't purchase anything with insignia name again.

    Cheaply made I would not recommend

    After 7 months of normal use, the plastic film over the keys is bubbling, wearing off. Quite disgusted. Had a Sharp Carousel for 10 years and never had that problem at all. Should of bought another Sharp. This one is definately made cheap. To get warranty I have to drive 45 miles one way and MAYBE they will get me a replacement. Never again.

    I have had the microwave a little over a month and the plastic on the numbers have already started busting and peeling like I’ve had it for years, planning on returning back to store this week.

    Came with a dent and now I have to go to the store and return waste of my time. Since it’s your fault why don’t u have an option to come to me to pick up the faulty item? Maybe use some sense by doing some quality checks before shipping them or make sure u handle the item properly when shipping

    Worked Ok for 2 Years...Then

    Two years ago, I shopped for a replacement for the Oster microwave I purchased 6 years prior, and that I had gotten 6 years use out of before it went Blooey and died, sparking wildly in the cooking chamber. I read many reviews until I got to this Insignia, which had good reviews, not dying after 3 months. I bought the extra warranty, which covered it an additional year, making 2 years total coverage. Before two years were up, number buttons used the most started to de-laminate (see pictures). I should have taken it back to Best Buy to get it replaced, but I let time run out. 6 months later (now) my Insignia microwave has gone rogue, and suddenly comes on all by itself, running with no one having started it. I finally had to unplug it for safety's sake. I'm not paying to repair it, so time to go searching for another microwave oven. I won't be buying another Insignia. Note: My microwave before the Oster was a Samsung one that lasted great from 1986 to 2016, when products were made to last. Even the light bulb in it never burned out. If you buy this insignia, well, get the extended warranty and take your chances.

    I bought this microwave in April of 2020 because it was a good size for what I needed and the reviews were good. The microwave was delivered pretty quickly and I was very happy with it initially. The microwave is very quiet and seemed to do the job. By maybe July or August, the door wouldn't always open when you push the button to open it. Now the door won't open when you push the button to open it and you need to push the button in and pull the door open. Then recently, it stopped working one day because it might have overheated after maybe a little more than normal use but not that significant of an amount of time. The microwave was very hot. I unplugged it and plugged it in the next day, it then seemed to work again. I need to see about my warranty and should have looked into it earlier. I would not buy it again.

    I bought this microwave during the pandemic time. I love the way it looks and is small enough to put in my kitchen. After purchasing one year, some of the ket buttons started to not function. Yesterday, it stopped working. It lasted about 3 years. If you don't want to keep buying a microwave, you shouldn't get this one.

    I bought it because it was affordable. It worked good for the first year. Then little by little the microwave oven started warming up the dish more than the food that was in the dish. Last week I put a small dish with food in the oven but it warmed the food just a little bit and after one minute, the oven turned off completely. I unplugged it for safety because the oven was very hot. I am afraid to use it again because it could be a safety hazard for my household.

    I ordered this last night before the sale ended. Best Buy canceled my order saying it was unavailable, even though it was & is still available, with a $23 price hike. Dirty scammy business practices Best Buy. Very dirty.

    Works great as a microwave but after 9 months the press pad has crinkled and the top layer worn off the most used buttons. Now (April 22) will have to replace but not with this brand.

    Running on its own won’t turn ofc

    I’ve had this microwave for almost 3 years and luckily we were home when this happened. The microwave is running on its own and there’s no button or function that will turn it off without unplugging it.

    It is 3 years old and it has malfunctioned electrically. It starts and stops on its own??Nothing in it, light flashes and it turns one way then the other. Fire hazard

    We really liked this microwave. It worked great, is the right size for our space, and matches our Insignia refrigerator. Unfortunately it just died today on 1/5/25. I checked and we purchased it on 12/17/23. So literally 2 weeks outside the manufacturer warranty. We didn’t use it in any abnormal fashion. Very disappointing and definitely don’t recommend purchasing.

    I purchased this microwave because it matched my stainless steel appliances, it fit my new downsized, newly built home, it was on sale, and best of all, I would receive it the same day as the purchase. 2 weeks after barely using the Insignia (I later found out it was Best buy's brand) microwave, it stopped working; it did not turn on when I plugged it back up in the same outlet. There is no refund/exchange after 30 days. Keep the original box for at least 30 days for easier transport and return. Do not buy this item.

    Bought this for my aging parents in their 70's who needed something simple and smaller. Got a phone call from my mom tonight that it stopped working today, a whole 2 weeks after I gave it to them. Now I get to go back to their house, pick up the hunk of junk, drive it back to Best buy, return it (hopefully I don't get hassled about it), purchase a new one, drive back to their house, and give them a new one. All because of the junk made today isn't worth the cardboard box it's packaged in. Thanks Best Buy and Insignia!!!!!!!!
