I purchased this little laptop to replace the large clunky laptop I had at the time. It is super fast and can handle a lot of PC games made in the mid to late 2000's. I attached an external slim DVD burner to this for some of these game which were disc based and this PC handled it with no issue. I also was able to burn and copy discs with no issue. It has a long battery life so you don't have to plug it in as often. The 32GB of internal memory is just right as I also installed a 64GB Micro SD card to hold more content. There are no cons to this laptop. I would highly recommend this little thing to anybody who wants a powerful little laptop to take on the go without having to lug around a large heavy laptop.

So it started off good. Awesome compact computer/tablet. I bought this open box. So I finally start really using it and I'm starting to notice little things. 1.) The charger, the charge time is ridiculous. I'm sitting at 50% and indicates like 5 hours till it's charged. Also if I'm using it while charging it takes double the time. I had my phone connected and I got a warning indicating to connect the charger cause I was sitting at 5%. It was connected and even the battery icon indicated it was charging. Guess the phone was sucking all the juice from the charger. 2.) Idk if it's a setting but the brightness fluctuates. I put it as dim as possible and as I'm watching movies it gets brighter at random times and darker at others. I'm also not watching action movies. (Family guy) 3.) I can't transfer files from the computer to my cellphone. (Via usb) setting are good on the phone I tried doing the same thing on a different computer and it work just fine.

I have been looking for a month or two for a new, inexpensive laptop or tablet for travel. I kept overlooking this one for some reason until it popped up yesterday morning at $80! If you are even thinking about, go get one NOW at that price before they run out. Honestly, I am seriously considering buying another one! My regular laptop is a pretty expensive, relatively high-power machine. I honestly do not feel like I am giving up much at all using this little beauty that cost LESS THAN 10% of what that one cost. Does it take a second or two longer to load a web page! Yes. But I could honestly see myself happily using this one all the time. I am retired so I no longer do a lot of extensive spreadsheet or database work, but I am online 5-6 hours per day. I do not expect extreme performance, but after years of working all day on PCs I do expect a certain level of speed and will quickly ditch something that does not deliver. This little Insignia is fine with me. I want to address some complaints that I have seen in other reviews as well as some concerns I had. Space - As soon as I turned it on I let it do all the updates it wanted to do. I held my breath, but I had no problem running out of space during the updates. I don't know exactly how long the updates took because I had to leave it for a couple of hours. I do know that in the 30-45 minutes it was working before I left, it was very far along. So I would say it did not take much longer than my much more powerful laptop takes for a major update. After everything was done, I did a disk cleanup and system cleanup, including removing the previous version files. I now have over 18GB free. The sd card will hold all data and most program files so space should not be an issue. RAM and power - As I mentioned (and expected) some web pages do take a little longer to load, but still quite acceptable. I am not a minimalist PC user. I keep a lot of tabs open in Chrome. In fact, I have 16 tabs that open by default. I know that sounds a little crazy, but I use most of them several times every day, and the others are things I need quickly when I need them. Aside from taking a little longer to load, I have not had any low RAM messages or other issues so far. Construction/Stability - This little device feels like a brick, in a good way. The construction feels much higher quality than I expected, and it has a good heft. Some tablet keyboard combinations can be unstable on your lap because the table is so much heavier than the keyboard. This one does not have that problem. It feels quite stable. Ports - I love that it charges by USB-C port. My phone does, as well, so I already have the chargers and adapters needed for travel. It is also GREAT to have a USB-A port on the keyboard unit. I do not care that it is a bit under-powered since I will rarely need to use an external HDD or DVD drive. When I do, I have everything to deal with that anyway. Display - I was a little concerned about the slightly lower resolution of the screen, but it is beautiful. My bigger laptop has extremely high resolution, and for day to day internet, word processing, etc., I honestly cannot see much difference. The touchpad is very generally very responsive. Occasionally there is a little lag, but that could have been something going on in background. It is just a bit sensitive when you are trying to click on something small. It is easy to move the pointer a bit when you go to click. Once you have it positioned you just have to be a little careful about moving your finger to the button to click. It is not actually a problem with the touchpad; it is just easy to accidentally move your finger a bit on the pad as you pick it up. Maybe it is because I have been using laptops with touchpads for so long, but I have not had any trouble with accidentally touching the touchpad as I type. I am a pretty decent touch typist, and I have had no problem with the size of the keyboard despite having slightly large hands. The layout is very standard and easy to use. The keyboard to tablet connection feels extremely secure. I cannot imagine it ever coming apart accidentally. It take a little effort to press on and pull off. I highly recommend this little tablet/keyboard! If you are looking for something inexpensive for a student, travel, or just carrying around, I cannot imagine you will find anything better unless you want to spend much more. Get one now before the run out! If anyone has questions please feel free to leave a Comment, and I will try to answer if I can.

I bought this tablet for school- I wanted something that could travel with me and my mountains of textbooks. I have a perfectly fine MacBook Pro at home, but its not exactly portable, but because it works fine, I didn't want to break the bank on this device. Pros: affordable!, super light, small screen, detachable keyboard (which happens to be a con also), it has a Windows OS so it runs like a computer and not a phone, however......... Cons: keyboard has some sensitivity/lagging issues- it won't always recognize when you push certain keys, but will catch up and type a bunch of whatever letter you were typing, whereas the trackpad mouse is incredibly sensitive. The slightest, imperceptible touch will make the mouse click where ever it was hovering in the screen- ESPECIALLY irritating when typing because all of a sudden your cursor is in the middle of a different section of text, so your text input lands in the middle of other words. Has trouble opening and allowing edits/note-taking in Powerpoint presentations in Open Office, works intermittently, but will sometimes jump to a different section of the presentation (perhaps an issue with Open Office and not the tablet, but opening and taking notes with in Powerpoints is a crucial element for me). Works pretty good for easy stuff like general web surfing, Spotify listening, but not a great note-taking device. The aforementioned irritations are survivable, to be sure, but to save on headaches down the road, it's going back to Best Buy. Learn from my mistake and spend a little more to save on frustrations.

I bought this tablet when it was on sale. It's a great buy for the price. I do with products came with pre-installed software such as Office, but I will buy a subscription. The keyboard locks into the tablet and the tablet it great on its own. There is enough space for what I need this for, and it's lightweight enough to carry around daily!

My previous computer was the inexpensive Lenovo 11.6" Windows laptop Best Buy sells. It was OK but pretty slow & the speakers were very weak. I decided to get rid of that & try this. I was expecting it would be a dud & I may need to end up returning. I was totally wrong. This Insignia is GREAT! I think a big difference is the Atom Quad-Core Processor vs the Celeron Dual-Core N3060 everyone is putting in cheaper stuff these days. That Celeron really is a dog by comparison. Even the speakers are better on this. The ability to use as a tablet is a nice plus. I love the USB-C charging & battery life is a solid 10-12 hours or so surfing the web, again I think that is the Atom Processor which is ultra low power usage. My only negative with this vs the Lenovo is the keyboard is snug by comparison but that was a 11.6" vs this 10.1". For $80, this is a no-brainer. I ended up buying a few for our family! The Insignia Brand has always been good quality stuff to me. I own a few Insignia Roku TVs that are better than the TCL's they replaced. Really like the brand & this Windows Tablet/Laptop is well worth the money.

Its a tablet with magnetic attachable keyboard, looks like a small laptop when tablet is folded down on keyboard. The keyboard feels securely attached to the tablet but is still easy to remove when only a tablet is needed. It goes into tablet mode when detached from keyboard and back into a laptop mode when keyboard is attached. The touch screen will continue to work even if the keyboard is attached. It has a USB type-C port on the tablet which is where the charger plugs in. Other ports on the tablet are micro SD slot, micro hdmi and headphone jack. It also has front and rear facing cameras, with no regular size USB on the tablet itself but there is one on the side of the keyboard. It worked well for what I had purchased it for, to type paperwork and on occasion watch some videos to pass the time. I never tried playing games on it and don't know how it would perform at that task. Only real ding I had against it was the location of the touch pad and it may just be me. I haven't used a laptop in years and I'm normally only using desktops with full size keyboards which may be the issue. I had a tendency to bump the touch pad with bottom side of my thumb or palm causing the cursor to jump to another part of the screen while i was typing. I had to get used to keeping my hands raised more than was I was used to while typing to prevent this from happening. It could be I have poor typing hand posture. I would suggest trying it out in the store first to see if the touchpad will be an issue for you.

I work in outside sales and wanted a small size tablet with a keyboard. This was very interesting because it runs on Windows. I am able to run all the applications I need and it fits on my console. The price is very nice. I did add the optional memory chip and have recommended it to several friends.

I needed a cheap basic Windows 10 machine. I was shocked at how cheap this was - a tablet, a Windows machine, and a keyboard. I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. The system isn't the fastest, but it's not painfully slow either. There was not a ton of boatware, but once updated and cleaned, you get a tad over 17.5 GB of storage. The unit functions similarly to the old 'netbooks' but runs pretty much everything I've thrown at it (32 bit). The BIOS says the chip supports 64 bit but I haven't tried it. The unit has USB C, USB on the keyboard, and HDMI out. Very impressed.

Good for email and browsing. You will need to buy a SD card for additional storage and disk space. Why? Windows 10 is a pig. It uses over a third of the main storage. And if you do a Windows update it consumes 2/3! So after every update you MUST do a system files cleanup. At least the quarterly updates. The last one, version 1803.1 for May, took over 11 GB and many hours to install. Windows 10 doesn’t allow you to turn off updates anymore or have better options unless of course you have W10 Pro. So right out of the box you are upset when you power up. But once you get passed all of that it is a nice computer. Just don’t expect too much. Cheaper option than an iPad for sure on sale <$100. Decent screen and keyboard but top heavy as the tablet portion has all the guts. The android version may be a better solution if you can’t stand Microsoft.

My Surface 2 died on my after 3 years without warning. I was looking for an economical way to replace it. This is the best value that includes a detachable keyboard, large screen, and I was able to sign right into my Microsoft Office. Highly recommended (and already have and that person also just bought one)!

When I first purchased this tablet I didn't know what to honestly expect. I figured for the price I would take a chance on it. A few days after purchase I took this on a trip. On a plane ride the battery lasted 10 hours while watching a movie. Bluetooth and Wifi were turned off. Startup is quick. Watching Netflix, browsing the Internet, and doing general productivity within Word and Excel worked just fine without any hiccups. The more applications that you have opened the slower the tablet will become but that is to be expected. A con of the tablet would be the speakers. They aren't that loud but they get the job done. Overall for the price if you know what you are getting then this is a great investment. Don't buy this tablet and expect the speeds of a Microsoft Surface or iPad. I know Insignia is Best Buy's brand but they did a fine job with this tablet, better than other brands that are available on the market.

I loved that it has detachable keyboard. Its light and love to have windows than Chromebook. Camera on front and back make it usable for video calls. I bought 2 of this for family and its been very useful Trackpad and keyboard quality is very good. It's been 2 years and now battery has fallen its performance and does not last long. I hope Insignia would come with some better quality and best price again as this one. I wish to buy another of this but this is not available, I hope best buy would come with this again.

This tablet carries a great large display and a keyboard which attaches beautifully and turns into a touchscreen laptop. However, Windows works very poorly here. All icons and screen options are minimized which make it hard to select. It does not have Microsoft Office installed and is often very laggy. I had to return and exchange for the Android version which works much much better and has the option for downloadable microsoft apps. In my opinion, get the Android, not Windows

So, it's not a top end lap top. It's not top end cost either. I paid under $100.00, and wanted a Windows 10 tablet. For the purpose of using to stream, and Office. A little Slow. Will not make a BT connection that is reliable to any of my BT earbuds, and headphones. But for the cost, it's a good trade of Less than $100,00 for a useable lap top. This device satisfied 50% of my intentions, what with the No BT Connection to earbuds and headphone.

I got this on sale for under well under $100. The tablet itself is not bad. Holds its charge well, works decent. Speed is not stellar, but adequate for what I use it for: email, surfing, some document creation. My main complaint is the lousy touchpad that cannot be turned off. With the small keyboard you can't but touch it when typing. No setting on driver to turn off when using mouse. Otherwise, does what I expect.

Too bad you can’t get this one anymore. It is a nice combination device. The downsides are the smaller screen size and available memory. You need to run disk clean of system files after every Windows update or risk slower performance. Aside from those two things it performs very well for what it is. Pair it with a cordless mouse and it works like a champ. Windows 10 is actually very bearable here.
