Excellent Product! Shreds with ease and it is durable! No problems over heating. I def. recommend this product if you are looking for a home shredder. Beautiful design too. I'm very happy with this purchase

Needed a shredder....too many dumpster divers around so I needed to start shredding the important information. This shredder works great. It may be loud but it will shred credit cards without a hitch. Hasn't had one jam yet.

This is a fine shredder, particularly for the very reasonable price. I like the size and portability of it, and it perfectly suits my needs. It's also very easy to empty. A good buy, as far as I'm concerned.

Having looked at several shredders to use in the home, I decided to purchase this one at Best Buy. The price is reasonable. The performance is very good for home use. I have shredded 4 - 6 pages at a time and have had no problem. I have also shredded a credit card with no difficulty.

I was a little iffy on the reviews for this shredder. I went ahead and purchased and was very well satisfied. My shredder has not overheated and has been working so well. I agree on the noise level it is a little loud but other than that, it works perfectly fine :)

I bought this for my mother's home office and she's very happy with it. Its around the size of the average trash bin and good for shredding bills and receipts. I would suggest resting the machine every 10-15 minutes or so if you intend to shred a mountain of papers otherwise it might overheat.

This is a nice enough shredder for the price. I tend to shred alot documents, so I should have taken that into consideration with the size of the machine. Once it gets filled up, paper gets jammed in the teeth of the shredder. Its a nightmare to get it cleaned out. I have mine sitting on the floor, therefore I can't see into the box. The only warning you get that it's full, is it says it's overheated. It won't reverse or shred anything more till you empty it.

I bought this shredder to replace a Royal VF1012mx with slide-out removable bin. This one is much quieter than the Royal that had similar shredding ability (upto 12 sheets and handled CDs and Credit cards). This one is "traditional" lift off cutter that sits on the bin, its easy to remove with convenient handle, however its also not convenient in that its so heavy its kind of difficult to lift and knock off the dangling shreds to avoid getting them all over the floor. To be fair the Royal still was messy even with slide out bin, but because the cutter stays in place on that one the shreds can be knocked off into the base of the unit minimizing what falls on the floor. The biggest disappointment with the insignia is that the paper feed slot is kind of shallow so feeding in torn envelopes or other uneven paper is more difficult than other shredders I've used. The CD/Credit card slot is open in the front which maybe makes slipping in CDs and credit cards a little easier compared to having to fit exactly into 4 walled slot. The other disappointment is the switch is kind of flimsy/clunky making it too easy to accidentally switch to reverse instead of OFF. There is a little viewing window in the front to show when bin is getting full, which is nice, but I miss the convenience of being able to open the sliding bin of my old shredder to drop in paper or labels that did not need to be shredded. I've found that the handgrip area on the sides has enough room to slip in small pieces of paper or larger if lift the cutter slightly out - sure I could just lift the whole thing out to drop in paper but like I mentioned then dangling shreds get all over the floor. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase because it (so far) seems handle the shredding duties without strain. I am just concerned with long term wear on the switch and vulnerability of the bin plastic that triggers release of the safety switch - by comparison the Royal model safety mechanism was not vulnerable at all. That unit failed from vulnerability in reverse function - shreds would build up around cutter and when reversed they overloaded to the point of breaking the plastic guides. This insignia clears shreds more thoroughly and does not have the voids where paper can build up undesirably. I supposed if I really wanted super durable I'd need to buy an expensive commercial grade shredder instead of a home office model like this - in that respect its definitely a good value.

We have had this shredder for a few months. It works well. The top is heavy. It will shred staples and credit cards. I have not needed to shred a cd but I expect that should be no problem as long as done one at a time per the instructions. If your paper is thicker then the standard paper I would recommend shredding less at a time. The shredder will get hot if used regularly for an hour. You just turn it off and let it cool down then it is good to go.

I was looking to replace my old shredder, so I went to Best Buy where I know I could always find what I need. This one is much larger than my old one but much easier to empty and works really well.

I really was just looking for a simple shredder and didn't think much about this one when I got it. It shreds really well for it's size with no problem and handles credit cards with ease. Definitely would recommend this for the money.

This is just what I wanted...a compact shredder for home use. It is easy to use and was a good price compared to others I had looked at. If you don't need a lot of capacity and only shred papers occasionally, this one fits the bill.

Great value for the price. I've only shredded 5 sheets of paper at 1 time with ease. Credit card no trouble. The only negative it makes more noise than I like. Yes I would buy again.

Shreds everything I’ve given it. Great for the price. Says it can overheat but I’ve yet to have an issue with that

This is a good small home shredder. It cuts well and I believe it will hold up. Just don’t overload with too many documents at once or it will jam.

We needed to replace our shredder in a hurry, and this one has about the same functions as the old one, but a bit more affordable. Surprisingly compact when it was delivered that same day. It's small enough that you can put it on the counter, light enough that you can move it around to another room without much hassle. If you're going to shred a lot of documents in a row, I'd recommend a max of 2 sheets per shred, so you don't run the risk of overloading or possibly overheating the little guy. Felt a bit warm when I ran 4 sheets a few times in a row, so I stuck with 2 to not over work it.

We had a shredder for several years. When it broke we replaced it. In fact, we tried two replacements. We were not happy with either of them. They both sounded very tinny and would only take one or two sheets at a time. They constantly jammed. The Insigna seems to be a much sturdier souning machine. It takes several sheets at a time and does a nice cut. We have also shredded credit cards and CD's with no problems. My only complaint is that you have to feed the paper in on an even level or it will jam.

So far this has been working great. It was reasonably priced, is nice and compact so doesn’t take up a lot of room, is not horribly noisy and has been perfect for shredding any of our home documents we want to shred.

I am very happy with this shredder. The price was a good deal for me at the time of purchase. It shreds instantly & effectively. It's not too noisy & it empties easily with the handle, as long as you do not wait until the shredder is over stuffed.
