The Insignia 2.7 Cu. Ft. mini fridge in white was one of the biggest surprises for me this year. This fridge is something I never knew I really needed. I always wanted a mini fridge, but something always held me back from taking the plunge. I can say now with confidence that I’m glad I finally got one. Looking at the Insignia 2.7Cu ft mini fridge from the outside, it looks small and compact. Once you see the inside, you have a lot of room to store your perishable items. Not just sodas or water either. After unboxing the mini fridge, the fridge was packed really well, with plenty of foam and tape to keep the glass shelves in place while in transport. I had to figure out the best place to install the mini fridge as the manual recommended plenty of room for airflow purposes. Since I decided to place the mini fridge in my media room which has carpeted floors, I decided to invest in a silicone mat specifically for appliances to assist in leveling and helping with any potential leaks. The mini fridge can be cleaned easily by using mild dish detergent and warm water. I'm interested to see how the fridge holds up long-term.
Design and features
The fridge comes with 2 glass shelves that can be positioned differently based on your needs. There is plenty of space on the door that can even accommodate a 2-liter bottle. Having the ability to change the way the door opens is an added plus as well. One of the best cost savings is the fridge being energy-star certified. Keeping the temperature dial set to medium should maximize cost savings year-round.
Conclusion
If you need a reliable mini fridge that doesn't take up too much space, look no further than the Insignia 2.7 cu ft fridge. It has great features, is easy to clean, and is energy-star certified. I definitely recommend it.

Although it's larger than I'd imagined, it's still been a great addition to my bedroom. See, I've suffered from pretty bad insomnia for most of my life. Once I'm asleep, in order to stay asleep, I can't leave the bed. Even a short trip to the restroom means I'm likely going to lie there awake for several hours before falling asleep again. Also, and oddly, I get very thirsty in the middle of the night. I probably drink at least four bottles of water on a regular basis each night. Taking the walk to the kitchen refrigerator and back means I will definitely be awake for quite a while. I tried keeping a bottle of water next to the bed, but I crave cold water, so most nights I take the room temperature bottle to the kitchen and switch it out for a cold one. I make myself crazy... Anywho, it's been so nice having the fridge right next to my bed, literally just reach in never having to get up, and it's helpful for me. So, even though I expected it to be a bit smaller, it's still become one of those things I never knew I needed! It's got plenty of space inside for drinks and a few snacks. Gets very cold as well. I'm a interested to see how it affects my energy bill, as it does switch on many times over the day. It has an audible 'clunking' sound which is how I know it's cycling on/off. I tried adjusting the temp to a higher setting, hasn't seemed to make a difference. I'm getting used to the sound, but I will admit, it was a little off-putting at first, given my sleeping problems. But long-term, I don't think it will be an issue. For reference, it's about as tall as halfway up a regular sized bedroom door. Hope that makes sense! I'd definitely recommend and it's priced very reasonably as well.

Storage!

Having a big family in a small space can be challenging and finding a way to store everything is a challenge in itself. In this instance food storage for my family of six was a challenge until I got my insignia mini fridge.
I ruled out getting a deep freezer because it generally takes up more space than a mini fridge would. Thankfully it is an exact fit in my kitchen. Typically, you think mini fridge and automatically assume college student, dorm room or etc. It may sound odd but I placed my mini fridge on top of the regular refrigerator. I have a traditional two door refrigerator that was included with my apartment.
I was amazed that I found a place to put my mini fridge where it wouldn’t take up precious space in an already small place. Now I removed the drinks and other perishables from the main fridge and placed them in the mini fridge that is how I chose to use it so there is now more space for food.
The door has space for drinks and there are two glass shelves. There is ample space for whatever you may choose to place there. You have an adjustable thermostat and it is as simple as that. There is no bulb which is good because you can maximize the space for perishables.
My fridge arrived a few days prior to thanksgiving so big win here with Best Buy! Super appreciative of that it makes life a little easier. This mini fridge is for everyone who can find a use for it. I surprised myself and found a use for it and I am glad that I did because now I do not have to pick and choose what not to buy at the supermarket or go shopping constantly.
Thanks for reading my review, go pick one out if you need one just be sure to take measurements and ensure that it fits in your space.

Our new Insignia, 2.7 cu. ft. Compact Refrigerator arrived today via FedEx - just in time for the holidays! Both my wife and son are thrilled for their own reasons: she’s excited about the extra storage space for holiday overflow, while he’s looking forward to using it in the garage for his auto projects. It is ideal for him and his buddies to grab cold drinks and snacks while wrenching on their cars, or mine when I get lucky.
A perfect fit beneath our 3D printer workbench, this Insignia fridge meets our workspace needs with impressive efficiency. Previously, we relied on a smaller unit that held just 6–8 beverages. In contrast, this model offers significantly more interior storage - without taking up much more space than the micro fridge it replaced.
Arrived packaged extremely well and surprisingly easy as 1-2-3 to unbox and get the fridge up and running.
The shelving is perfectly arranged. Its layout design ensures maximum use of space, with thoughtfully chosen storage solutions for bottles, containers, and other essentials.
Highlights:
- Energy Star certified
- Whisper quiet
- Cooling process was rapid following initial setup
- Refrigerator was turned off; it held at 44°F for a prolonged period
- Excellent insulation
- Adjustable leveling feet for stabilizing the unit
- Door rack for canned beverages
- 2 Liter bottle rack
- Tempered Glass shelves
- Automatic Defrost
- Doors are reversable
- Recessed door handle
- Energy guide estimated yearly energy costs $36
From dorm rooms to offices, the Insignia 2.7 FT Compact Refrigerator keeps things chill with reliable cooling and a space‑saving design that fits anywhere. And yes - it looks cool (pun fully intended).

I got this fridge to specifically to keep chilled beverages in ahead of the holiday season. My main and backup fridge end up jam-packed by Thanksgiving because I host and have to start cooking a week ahead thus, I never have room for drinks by the time the day arrives. This, and my household is also multi-generational and certain household members really like their beverages, making it an issue to store groceries when we stock up.
As soon as the fridge was delivered, I plugged it in, stocked it up with a bunch of room temperature beverages, and left it to chill. By the next day it was already cold inside, and even the drinks were cold. By the second day the drinks were perfectly chilled to the point that they all formed condensation on them once I opened the fridge door.
This fridge is much more spacious than I anticipated. I can fit three full rows of bottles on the middle and top shelf. The bottom can fit 2 rows of cans, and the door has a lot of space for more cans plus 2L containers.
It works just as I expect a fridge to, holds more quantity than I expected, and thankfully does not consume much energy. I think beyond my purposes, this is a great fridge for a room or office as well, so long as a freezer is not needed. The door is reversible as well.
Overall, I am satisfied with this fridge and recommend it.

I needed another mini fridge for my office at work to hold drinks and food that I brought from home and this has worked out perfectly. It's small enough to fit either on a desk or underneath a desk in an office. It quickly cooled down once I had it plugged in and so far has worked great to keep the food I bring from home cold as well as other bottles of water or drinks that I have brought in as well.
It has a very basic look so it will fit in anywhere and has plenty of shelving and storage inside to accommodate multiple containers or dishes as well as drinks and even 2 l bottles. It has a range of temperatures that can make your food or drinks colder or keep them only moderately cool. The only real downside to this particular model is the lack of any sort of freezer or freezer compartment. I have had other mini fridges in the past that although they didn't have a full freezer with a small door they at least had a small compartment at the top that would get to freezing temps.
Pros
- Size and capacity inside
- Price for what you get
- Quality from Insignia
Cons
- No freezer
Overall for what you get this is a good value if you do not have a need for an actual freezer or ability to keep frozen food frozen. It accommodates sodas and water bottles well along with containers of food that you want to keep cold.

This is an excellent compact fridge, suitable for a dorm room, office, mother-in-law-unit, or as a backup fridge in case your main one fails (which is the main reason we got this one!). It's roomy and has a couple of convenient storage slots in the door for cans and cartons. The door hinge can be easily swapped to the other side depending on your needs. It gets satisfyingly cold, and the temp can be adjusted with a basic knob. No freezer section, unfortunately.
The build quality overall is excellent. The plain white metal can be cleaned easily. It's fairly light, so moving it around is quite easy. Operation is pretty quiet. Energy Star rating is pretty good (estimated annual electricity usage of 255 kWh, energy cost of $36). The only downside I noted is that when it's resting on a hardwood floor, it can slip around on its feet while opening the door -- not much of a problem, and I could always use a non-slip pad if needed.
Overall, an excellent choice if you're looking for a mini-fridge!

This is one of the best values and designs in a mini-fridge that I’ve seen. It has thoughtful door storage and some nice little upgrades, like glass shelves and angled can holders. It’s exterior has a smooth finish that pairs nicely with our Insignia chest freezer that we keep alongside this in our garage. It's 2.7 cu. ft. is great for drinks and a selection of snacks or leftovers.
Temperature control is simple - just a dial, but leaving it on ‘medium’ seems to do the trick for us. I haven’t had any issues with cold spots or freezing of items so far, it just works. At such an affordable price, it’s a nice addition to our home. No more trips to the kitchen when working from the garage for me! It’s handy.
If needed, it’s nice that the door can be reversed as that’s something that would matter to if it hadn't already had the preferred R-hand door placement from the factory.
Overall, it’s simple, straightforward and has a number of nice design details that makes storing food and drinks simple. We’ve already been pleased with our Insignia chest freezer, so for the price, it’s a no-brainer.

I've tried the mini fridge thing before. I've consistently run in to one of two issues. Either they don't get cold, or they don't last long. While I can't say in full how long this mini fridge will last, it's off to a great start.
This mini fridge isn't as "mini" as some others are. I've fit a decent number of waters and sports drinks in this thing. I originally stored some snacks in it, and still found it to be spacious with a combination of waters and salads on shelves and sports drinks and oranges on the door, but then I realized...man this thing gets COLD. At medium capacity, my oranges froze in a day. I could easily put a few drinks in and they be near froze in a few hours at the top cold rating.
Durability is a question I can't speak to off top. I can say that the paint easily scratches off. My cat loves hanging out on top of the refrigerator, and I can see the scratch marks from his claws. That makes me question the overall durability of the fridge, but again, not something I can address at this point.
Ultimately, the real question is how long this mini fridge lasts. It's base functionality is great, if I can get a solid lifespan out of it, it's more than worth it and I'd strongly recommend it to anyone. Off top, I'm going to trust that it will give me over a year, which is more than I can say for a few other bigger named brands.a

Insignia™ - 2.7 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge with Door Storage and ENERGY STAR Certification - Black
The Insignia™ - 2.7 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge is 27.37” High x 18.58” wide (695.2 mm x 472 mm) with two Tempered glass shelves and all usable space (2.7 Cu Ft.) with Bottle storage in the door with adjustable can storage (5 door racks). I like the adjustable can holder on the door because it adjusts to the size of the cans and also secures them. This model has a nice Black finish, a Reversible door hinge, and a recessed handle, making it easy to blend into most decor.
There are two non-adjustable feet in the front, then two metal plates in the back that act as feet. The feet are short for what would seem to be a cabinet installation. It would have been nice to have adjustable feet in the front and rear. Since this cannot be placed on carpet, its clearance isn't high enough for the door not to get caught in the carpet (my carpet is not deep), so it does need to be on a hard surface. The instructions suggest keeping the air space under the unit clear to help with heat dissipation. Even after placing it on a hard surface, there is a wobble to it. Viewing it from the front, you can tell it doesn’t have all its weight on the left front foot. Though it barely shifts height-wise, it will shift slightly every time you open the door.
After the initial setup and allowing for the unit’s internal temperature to reach its initial cooldown, it is very good at maintaining temperature and keeping things cold. The external heat generated is minimal, as it is hardly noticeable. During temperature maintenance, it will make as much noise as my full-size refrigerator, but I found my full-size refrigerator's sound to be a more relaxing sound than the mini-fridge's. At the end of its cycle, it produces an annoying buzz, similar to a washing machine, lasting about 7 minutes. I would not like this as it is in, say, a bedroom while trying to sleep. It would probably be masked by a computer or a fan in an office area. I’m not sure whether some vibration-damping feet would improve the noise level. Still, since I will eventually want to move it to one of the rooms with carpet, I will make sure to install some pads to raise the height slightly and stop the wobble, as well as a hard mat with some padding to place it off the carpet.
I've had it for a week, so I can’t speak to the unit's durability or the solutions needed for the improvements I want to make. I can only recommend it at the sale price, as creating solutions to make it fit my needs and requirements wouldn't justify paying full price.

the fridge is great but it came with a slight dent in the front. It was purchased for work so I’m not returning it. Just be aware because the box itself was in good condition.

This mini fridge has been a great addition to my office at work! While it is relatively compact, it is still spacious enough to hold plenty of drinks for myself, and any guests who may stop by.
When this arrived, I was impressed at how well the fridge was packed, and that the unboxing experience was very straightforward. Just open the outer box, and take out the fridge, there's really not much to it. I found that when I removed it from the packaging, I was easily able to lift the unit and place it where it needed to go. Thankfully, the electrical cable is nicely tucked away on the back of the unit, until you need to use it.
The fridge itself is well made, with a smooth, white finish, and every piece feels high quality. I've only had it for a short while, but I'm very pleased with what Insignia is offering for this price.
I have a small, collapsible dolly, so I threw that in my vehicle, and I was (just) able to get the fridge in my SUV, and head to my office. I wasn't sure if I should keep the fridge standing straight up, but I did anyways, just to be safe during my drive. Once I got there, the fridge was light enough for one person to place on the dolly, and wheel into a different location. You *could* carry it, but this would definitely be more difficult, as to reach my office I have to open about 4 separate doors. Of course, depending on where you need to put yours, this may not matter much at all.
Since my office has a carpet floor, I purchased a plastic mat for the fridge to sit on. Even though the carpet is very shallow, I know it's best to leave some room for circulation on these fridges. Thankfully, the mat allowed me to sit the fridge on top of the carpet, and not have to worry about circulation problems, or leaks. If yours is going on a carpet, I'd consider these as possible issues. If it's going on cement or a hard floor, I wouldn't worry at all.
After I plugged it in, I let it set for a while, and then started filling it with drinks. The size is great, as it's much larger than the smallest type mini fridge, but still short enough that it's not too obtrusive. I found that it sits about as high as an end table in my office, and has a pretty compact footprint.
There's really not much to control with this fridge, as there's a temperature control, and that's about it. So far my drinks have been nice and cold, and not so cold that they actually start to freeze. I thought maybe the feet on the bottom were adjustable, but it doesn't look like it. Honestly, my unit has been fine where I placed it, and doesn't move too much when I do open the door.
Overall, I really can't think of any downsides to this mini fridge from Insignia. It holds lots of bottles or cans, is the perfect size, and is very well made. I'm thrilled that I now have my own fridge at work. If you're looking for a great mini fridge for your home, garage, or office, check this one out!

I work from home and live at my desk, so I decided I needed a new small fridge to keep my cans of Diet Pepsi ice cold for when the mood hits me. The questions were: will it get my cans cold, will it be quiet enough, and will it fit? Unboxing it was typical—nothing to see here. It’s a beautiful refrigerator in the perfect size. After wiping down the insides and plugging it in, it was time to add the Diet Pepsi.
After letting it cool down, I checked on my Diet Pepsi and yep, they were ice cold. I did adjust the coolness slightly, but for the most part it was near default. I was quite happy with that. The compressor in my office is not that distracting or loud. I find I forget about it the majority of the time.
The door shelves are perfect for my Diet Pepsi—no complaints here. You can get about a full 12-pack or slightly more in the doors alone. Altogether I can fit about a case of Diet Pepsi for those long weekends of gaming and AI art.
There is also a separate little compartment that will freeze your cans if you stupidly put them in there not knowing it’s a freezer, and you can guess how I found that out (from reading the manual ;) ).
The thing just looks great sitting next to my rig (but not too close—I know, magnets) and runs quiet enough that I can get those long Black Ops 7 sessions in with Diet Pepsi and the Insignia fridge as my little wingman with the Diet Pepsis.
About the only con might be the fridge range; setting it to about 7 seems to nearly freeze the pop, so go lower than that, trust me. If you’re a fellow lover of a canned beverage—whether it’s Diet Pepsi, Busch Light, or even Mountain Dew, no judgment—I think you’ll really love the Insignia 2.7 cu ft fridge.
And that’s right, I call it what my mom always did: “the fridge.”
I recommend this “fridge” to all gamers and late-night owls who just want a cold beverage on demand. Well done, Insignia, well done.

I needed a small fridge for the garage that didn’t take over the whole wall, didn’t sound like a jet engine, and still had a layout that made sense. This Insignia mini fridge ended up being exactly what I needed for a tight space. I had a chance to use for a few weeks and it has done its job reliably.
PLACEMENT/SETUP
Placement was easier than I expected. I set it against the wall in the garage, and the small footprint slid in perfectly without blocking anything. It stays steady, doesn’t wobble, and gives me a clean top surface that works almost like a small table.
FEATURES/FUNCTIONS
The shelves aren’t cramped, the door bins actually hold a few full-size bottles, and everything is spaced out enough that you don’t feel like you’re cramming things in there. It gives you real storage without taking up real space.
DOWNSIDE/WISH
I don’t really have a complaint. It’s a basic mini fridge that keeps drinks cold and gives you adjustable shelves for bigger items. The only thing I wish was different is the door storage—those shelves only fit about two tall items, and it would’ve been nice if they were spaced to hold full size items only since there is already plenty of space on the shelves inside the fridge.
OVERALL
Overall, it’s a dependable little fridge with a practical layout, quiet operation, and a footprint that fits easily into any space.

Little Fridge That Could!

Living spaces are expensive and so we often find ourselves fitting ourselves into the smallest possible space to save money. This means you need to save room by making the most of your available space. Enter the minifridge!
Insignia has always been a reliable and affordable brand in my experience and their 2.7 cubic ft minifridge seems to be maintaining that reputation. Refrigerators are one of those products you can’t really know fully until you’ve spent time with it (I have a standard size fridge from a “major manufacturer” which utilizes plastic shelves I thought were great until they cracked and cost over $100 each to fix…but I digress). I can’t tell you this fridge is going to be your ten year plan or even your going away to college dorm plan BUT in the couple weeks I’ve spent with it I can say that it’s a very compact space saving cold storage. At first I unpacked it (it’s already assembled so you don’t need to do anything unless you want to swap the side the door opens from) and set it up as a drink only refrigerator since I’d just bought a case of Monster Energy drinks from the store and figured since I had the whole fridge available I’d fill it with Monster, as a joke if nothing else. I really liked that but after some shelf space became available I found its an amazing supplemental fridge to store left overs or if you’re parsing out dinner to take for work lunch the next day. It's so small and stores a surprising amount so you can’t really lose with this one. By my measurements it's about 18” deep by 18.5 inches wide by 27.5 tall which could easily fit in a den, kitchen pantry, dorm room, or maybe under your desk at work if you’re a fancy lad!
The door storage is plastic and they swing out so you can store your cans at an angle for easy reach when you open the door. It's nice but as I mentioned I’m SUPER skeptical of plastic as a long term material in this kind of appliance. There’s no freezer box, that little cubby in the top you see in a hotel minifridge that doesn’t really work anyway, but you do get 2-liter bottle storage in addition to the can storage on the door and three shelves. You can change how cold it gets. According to the box it tops out at around 50 degrees and bottoms just below freezing at 32 degrees, I just know I put a warm can of energy drink inside and three hours later it was cold a a fresh can from the convenience store! There are adjustable feet to level it if you need to do that, the plug seems plenty long enough for just about any situation you’d have but I forgot to measure it before I put it into place and it's not really accessible at this point. This minifridge has a lot of room given the tiny number of cubic feet available, at least I read 2.7 and it seems tiny in my head…I was pleasantly surprised! If you need a small supplement to your standard fridge or want a dorm/office fridge then you’d do a lot worse than the Insignia minifridge. I highly recommend it.
