I needed a small fridge for the garage that didn’t take over the whole wall, didn’t sound like a jet engine, and still had a layout that made sense. This Insignia mini fridge ended up being exactly what I needed for a tight space. I had a chance to use for a few weeks and it has done its job reliably.
PLACEMENT/SETUP
Placement was easier than I expected. I set it against the wall in the garage, and the small footprint slid in perfectly without blocking anything. It stays steady, doesn’t wobble, and gives me a clean top surface that works almost like a small table.
FEATURES/FUNCTIONS
The shelves aren’t cramped, the door bins actually hold a few full-size bottles, and everything is spaced out enough that you don’t feel like you’re cramming things in there. It gives you real storage without taking up real space.
DOWNSIDE/WISH
I don’t really have a complaint. It’s a basic mini fridge that keeps drinks cold and gives you adjustable shelves for bigger items. The only thing I wish was different is the door storage—those shelves only fit about two tall items, and it would’ve been nice if they were spaced to hold full size items only since there is already plenty of space on the shelves inside the fridge.
OVERALL
Overall, it’s a dependable little fridge with a practical layout, quiet operation, and a footprint that fits easily into any space.

This refrigerator saved my bacon. Well, actually my pie.
I received this refrigerator just before Thanksgiving. I plugged it in and set it up in a space just off the kitchen. Originally, I was going to put some beverages in the unit to test the cooling factor.
It’s a great size for a bar or recreation room in your house. It’s big enough to store a lot of drinks, but not too big where it’s in the way. The standard white finish blends into almost any decor. It is not a countertop unit technically, but you could put it on a raised base or shelving unit to make it more accessible without being intrusive.
Back to Thanksgiving. I went to a local warehouse club to get one of their giant pumpkin pies. However, when I got home, I didn’t quite have room for it in our main French door style refrigerator.
This unit was able to house the pie, along with a veggie tray, and my 10 lbs. (thawing) smoked turkey. The second shelf allows a full gallon of milk to stand upright. The door storage for canned drinks is nice to have as well.
This would be a great refrigerator to have on hand for the Holidays, or just for kicking back at home with soda and snacks. It’s not too big, not too small. Just right.

The Insignia™ - 2.7 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge with Door Storage and ENERGY STAR Certification is a good size mini fridge that fits in small spaces. The changeable door, which allows you to open it either from the left or right, opens up many possibilities for placement. At less than 40 pounds, it easily will fits on top of a table but at 28 inches, tall enough if you prefer to place it on the floor. It can fit under a desk or table as well. It has two glass shelves. The bottom shelf is static but the top shelf can be adjusted. The door has storage for up to a 2 liter bottle, 6 cans and then a small area for small things such as fruit cups or jam. There is no freezer section, this is strictly a fridge. The temperature is controlled by a dial on the inside. My only complaint is that I would have preferred it if there was a drawer at the bottom for those things that do better contained. It is an easy remedy, just put my own container in, but a drawer would have been nice when using it for drinks and snacks for the grandkids. It got cold quickly after been plugged in and has stayed a consistent temperature since then - the drinks are definitely cold, just the way I like them. Overall, it does just what it is designed to do and does it energy efficiently.

The Insignia - 2.7 Cu. Ft. Mini Fridge with Door Storage is like the perfect personal fridge. I was debating on taking it to the office or put it in the media game room. I chose to place it in the media/game room. It keeps beverages ice cold, sometimes too cold where it slushes or ices over, but there is temperature control dial knob that you can adjust the level of coolness. Being "smaller," it does not take up much space on a desk. I prefer it being raised to allow easier access and cleaning if needed. It comes with adjustable glass shelves that hold plenty of items, ours is mainly for water bottles, soda cans and bottles. The door shelves can even hold 2 liter bottles of soda. It really is convenience when you guests or family using the room for games or movies.
To be honest, in a pinch, we also can use it to store items that don't fit in the fridge. It really is handy and definitely keeps your food and drinks cold. It is energy efficient and really makes minimal operating noises, hard to tell it is running. Hopefully it will last for years to come.

Living spaces are expensive and so we often find ourselves fitting ourselves into the smallest possible space to save money. This means you need to save room by making the most of your available space. Enter the minifridge!
Insignia has always been a reliable and affordable brand in my experience and their 2.7 cubic ft minifridge seems to be maintaining that reputation. Refrigerators are one of those products you can’t really know fully until you’ve spent time with it (I have a standard size fridge from a “major manufacturer” which utilizes plastic shelves I thought were great until they cracked and cost over $100 each to fix…but I digress). I can’t tell you this fridge is going to be your ten year plan or even your going away to college dorm plan BUT in the couple weeks I’ve spent with it I can say that it’s a very compact space saving cold storage. At first I unpacked it (it’s already assembled so you don’t need to do anything unless you want to swap the side the door opens from) and set it up as a drink only refrigerator since I’d just bought a case of Monster Energy drinks from the store and figured since I had the whole fridge available I’d fill it with Monster, as a joke if nothing else. I really liked that but after some shelf space became available I found its an amazing supplemental fridge to store left overs or if you’re parsing out dinner to take for work lunch the next day. It's so small and stores a surprising amount so you can’t really lose with this one. By my measurements it's about 18” deep by 18.5 inches wide by 27.5 tall which could easily fit in a den, kitchen pantry, dorm room, or maybe under your desk at work if you’re a fancy lad!
The door storage is plastic and they swing out so you can store your cans at an angle for easy reach when you open the door. It's nice but as I mentioned I’m SUPER skeptical of plastic as a long term material in this kind of appliance. There’s no freezer box, that little cubby in the top you see in a hotel minifridge that doesn’t really work anyway, but you do get 2-liter bottle storage in addition to the can storage on the door and three shelves. You can change how cold it gets. According to the box it tops out at around 50 degrees and bottoms just below freezing at 32 degrees, I just know I put a warm can of energy drink inside and three hours later it was cold a a fresh can from the convenience store! There are adjustable feet to level it if you need to do that, the plug seems plenty long enough for just about any situation you’d have but I forgot to measure it before I put it into place and it's not really accessible at this point. This minifridge has a lot of room given the tiny number of cubic feet available, at least I read 2.7 and it seems tiny in my head…I was pleasantly surprised! If you need a small supplement to your standard fridge or want a dorm/office fridge then you’d do a lot worse than the Insignia minifridge. I highly recommend it.

Firstly this came in a box and was in perfect condition from a local carrier. I was super excited to get this fridge after opening up a new retail store that gave me additional office space in a conference room. And since getting this space I’ve tried to tiddy it up some with white boards, a 65” tv and this wonderful little refrigerator lol. I was just always doing training and having to get up and get waters for the group etc. Not anymore!! So a fridge what do I want from a 2.7cu ft product and what is my real life experience using this fridge and while I’ve only had it for two weeks I am really impressed for a few reasons.. firstly it cools perfectly no ice chunks etc and I have it as cold as it can go. Secondly, no freezer area taking up space so when you open even though it’s only 2.7 cu Ft very small there is lots of storage for cans and bottles. Both sides of the drawers have storage and it flows really good and it’s super easy to restock or fit something in here. Overall I am really happy with my new mini fridge and I hope it last a while!

Summary:
I got the Insignia Mini Fridge for my garage office since I'm here a lot while working from home and whenever I'm working on my car projects. I just wanted to have a cold drink ready whenever I get thirsty from working from home on the computer and I also do work in the garage on my car projects. I hated taking off my shoes and going into my home to grab a drink.
Insignia did a really good job on this fridge, balance of low power consumption. The Energy Guide tag states $36 annual estimated cost, which I really much appreciate. Since it mostly holding my drinks, Insignia also has drink holder on the inside of the fridge door for can drinks. It has done a great job of keeping my drinks and somethings food cold. I found that I had to adjust the temperature to get to my desired level of cold, but not issues with temperature control.
I can really recommend this mini fridge for anyone looking to hold drinks and food for your office or garage. Probably also for college students living in a dorm or might even be a good option for RV fridge?
