    Excellent TV with flaws

This is a short-term review since I've only had the TV a few weeks. This is an excellent TV for a small space like a kitchen or bedroom. It only weighs a few pounds which makes it very easy to tip over so anyone with pets or small children should consider that when choosing where to place the TV. Setting it up is very easy. Screw in the legs, attach a signal source(antenna, cable) and you're good to go. The TV runs a scan for all available channels and allows you to make a list of favorites which can be modified at any time. If you intend to use an over the air antenna, be aware that this TV has a tendency to eliminate weak channels from the channel list and the only way to get it back is to run a channel scan all over again because the TV doesn't allow manual input of channels individually. This can be extremely annoying. There are USB, HDMI and Audio/Video inputs for attaching a computer or other device, like a camera or gaming console. The sound is nothing to write home about. It has very little richness to it. There are bass and treble adjustments which don't help much. For better sound there is a digital coaxial output allowing the sound to be fed through your home audio system. If one only has an analog system, the headphone jack can be used along with an adapter(not included) and RCA cables(also not included) I found the picture to be excellent right out of the box. It's clear and bright with no ghosting. The picture alone makes this TV worth buying. All in all this is a great bargain, despite its flaws.

I bought this to use as a monitor for my iPad, chrome book, and samsung tablet. I connected chrome book via hdmi cable and Logitech usb receiver keyboard and mouse. I used a Chromecast or Apple TV (depending on whether I was using the IPad or Samsung tablet) in the other hdmi port with the power to the chromecast in the USB port on the tv. Keyboard and mouse to ipad and samsung tablet was a Logitech K375s which supports up to 3 different OS via Bluetooth. So, end result, I can easily have the convenience of the larger screen and keyboard / mouse on any of the 3 smaller devices. Since the iPad doesn’t support a mouse, I just keep it easily accessible for when I do have to use touch and otherwise use all the IOS keyboard shortcuts. Very convenient setup when all done. Also, I found the speakers to be very surprising. I play a lot of YouTube music and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the sound. Another little feature, the legs set just high enough up and far apart to allow my kleyboard to slide underneath giving me a clear desktop when not in use. I bought it on deal of the day for a great price so I couldn’t be more pleased. I have other Insignia tv’s and have been equally satisfied with them as well. Hope this helps!

I picked this TV up to put in my workshop so I can watch local news or my Roku box while I'm working. It has a really good picture, and the sound quality is better than I thought it would be. Setup was easy right out of the box, as was assembling the TV and stand. The only thing that bothers me about this TV is that for some reason if we have a power outage (hey, it's spring time/early summer here in southern IL, we have a LOT of thunderstorms at this time of year), when the power comes back on, the TV turns itself on, even if you didn't have it turned on when the power went out. I'm not sure why this is, but we have had half a dozen outages in the last two weeks or so, and every single time this has happened. I'm working from home now, so this isn't an issue, although if I were to leave for an extended period of a few days, I would definitely want to unplug it just to make sure it didn't sit and run for a couple of days with no one home. Overall, I'm really pleased with this TV, I would most definitely buy it again, and have already recommended it to a couple of friends. It's WAY more TV than I thought I would be getting for the money.

    Fantastic TV!

We really like just about everything. It's for our bedroom, and the size is really nice for that. The picture is very clear. The sound is strong and rich. My last tv had a hollow sound, but not this one! The legs are 21 and 1/4 inches apart, so it fits on our tv stand. I find them to be nice & sturdy. My only complaint, and its a small one, is that I would love to be able to increase the size of the closed captioning. That's very small. If there's a way to increase it, I haven't found it yet. But other than this one thing, it's perfect. And the price was just too amazing to pass up, so I'm very glad we got it! Also, someone complained of a smell---there's none at all on this one. And if anyone needs to know, there's about a 1 and 1/4in gap under the tv.

    Not a computer Monitor

I have a cousin who uses a television as a computer monitor to great effect. I had hoped to use this Insignia 24" TV for the same purpose via the HDMI connection. It worked after a fashion - but I was unable to make the computer-generated video feed fit completely onto the television screen and was unable to access some of the Windows 10 task links on the outer edges of the screen - especially on the left side. I learned after the fact that my cousin's TV is a Vizio model with a VGA input port. The Insignia television also exuded an unpleasant, acrid odor after being powered up. It has a very small vented area in the back center for cooling purposes. The odor might not be too bad from 8-10 feet away but from ~2 feet it was overpowering. The Insignia TV has a good picture, fair sound, and decent connectivity. As a 24" class video device with it's own speakers and $80 price point I was very disappointed to have to return it as it did not meet my needs. The 21.5" class AOC monitor I ended up buying works fine but is smaller, without speakers and cannot double as a regular television. It also cost the same as the Insignia TV. : - ( It ain't a perfect world.

We picked this TV up this morning for our son to use in a small bedroom. He previously had a 30 inch Insignia but it sita on his desk and just took up too much room. He said that he was fine with a smaller TV. So we have a 55 inch in our living room and a 50 inch in the bedroom, both Insignia branded TV's and have always loved them. Their picture quality is superb for our needs and while they may not offer all the bells and whistles of more expensive sets, I don't think these can be beat for the price. We aren't sure exactly what happened to the 30 inch but had no problem buying another Insignia product. For the record, I am not able to distinguish any kind of unpleasant odor.

Good picture and clarity.........I am not a high tech person, did not want any smart tv, so this is sufficient for my needs. Small enough to fit in the room, yet the picture is large enough to see the display very well. The ONLY complaints I have are two. First is NO controls on the TV itself, so if you misplace the remote, you are out of luck. I'm very disappointed that there are NO controls. Secondly, when changing volume or voice, an aggravating robotic voice tells us what we are doing....ok in itself, but the voice is quite aggravating, AND it disrupts the picture continuing as one is trying to reduce volume or change channels. Reason for the 4 star instead of 5

We replaced our old "tube" TV with this 24" digital model and we both love it's size, picture and sound quality. We were a little "skeptical " at first because it wasn't a "name brand", but the salesman explained that this unit was the "Best Buy brand", built specifically for them, and many people really liked them. You can add our name to that list. For a small "inexpensive " TV, we are really happy with the ease of use of the controls and settings, and the picture and sound features are awesome! We don't really know how reliable they are, but for now we are really happy with our purchase!!

Bought this about 3 weeks now and it is ok at best. The picture quality is ok for what you pay. My only real gripe about this TV is that it would appear the remote uses a code that is used on my LG screen. Although that would normally not be a problem, I use this TV as an additional computer monitor in my office which is where my LG TV is located. Consequently, every time I use the remote for this TV it affects the LG TV - which is a real pain. I am now looking for ways to change the code on the Insignia before looking into buying a universal remote to program each TV separately. Other than this little hiccup it is an ok TV, but definitely not great.

    Missing Parts? That's YOUR Problem

I have been a long standing loyal customer of Best Buy for a number of years-- but no more, because of missing parts that might cost them a fraction of a cent. My Insignia TV, the fourth one in the house and a birthday gift for my son, came WITHOUT the M3 screws needed to install the "feet" that hold up the TV. Insiginia is a Best Buy brand and I contacted "customer service" via e-mail. The response I received: "We do NOT supply these. Purchase at your local hardware store." Need I say more? TV quality is a 4 or 5; lack of Customer Service is a negative 10, but I can't give less than one star. Best Buy lost a customer.

I purchased this for a small shop I perform work in that doesnt have access to cable. I know that it has a built in tuner and was hoping to pick up some local stations over the air. Good luck with that, the TV didn't pick up any channels over the air. I do not live in a rural area so I was disappointed by this and had to go out and purchase a digital antenna. Once I got that set up, the TV found all the channels and has a nice picture. Just need to understand that the digital tuner built into the TV was useless until I hooked up a seperate digital antenna. Other than that, the TV was a good buy for the price I paid.

I have owned this 24" Insignia for a few weeks now, and I am very pleased with this purchase. The color is beautiful; sound is good; like the view angle, sleep timer, etc. and price was unbeatable! I always like to shop at Best Buy for electronics, and I'm very happy I chose them again to look at their TVs. I also have a 42" Insignia from Best Buy in another state, which I bought in 2012, and have never had an issue with it, which is one reason I have stayed with Insignia; a reliable, quality television for a great price. I highly recommend this 24" t.v.

What a awesome great alternative to a Smart TV. We returned the Smart TV version that never did connect properly even after trying to work with the Geek squad that couldn't explain it either. This was so easy out of the box, plug and play, linked with our provider Direct TV with simplicity above any so called Smart TV. The picture, sound, ease in set up was great. Hopefully, they will continue to have an alternative to a Smart TV. This will avoid the hassles and difficulty associated with the so called Smart TV linking smoothly with your cable or satellite provider.

I needed a relatively small, inexpensive flat screen TV for my kitchen that would fit under the cabinets. This one fit the bill. It is a great basic TV, nothing fancy, but it's perfect for my needs. I was able to connect both my VCR and DVD player so I am able to watch videos in addition to TV. If you are looking for ultra HD or other high tech features, you will want to look for a more expensive set. That wasn't what I was looking for. I also have another Insignia TV that was purchased about 3 years ago, and I'm happy with both of them.

Picked up this television a couple of weeks ago and found it easy to set up. Screen quality is actually quite decent for its size and the sound is acceptable. It's not home theater-quality, but better audio than a couple of televisions of similar size that I previously purchased. Biggest drawback is a not-overpowering, but noticeable smell of hot plastic coming from the top right portion of television (top left when looking at screen) when it is in use. Smell goes away when turned off. Solid buy at under $80 when on sale but had to subtract a star due to the plastic smell issue.

I'm a cord-cutter - and picked this up as a replacement for an old SD tv in a small bedroom where space was at a premium. What I got was a real gem! BEAUTIFUL picture - really nice - and it allowed me to attach a Roku and Fire TV Stick - along with a DVD player and VCR via an AV switcher. Picture is awesome - sound quite good - remote control handles the various inputs simply and easily - I love it. Suits my needs perfectly and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this lovely unit.

A TV that I had for years, one of the EARLIEST flat screens for a 19 or 24 inch when I turned it on, I only got audio, no picture. So I had to turn it on and off so many times, I decided FORGET IT. I had to get a new TV. And I did with this Insignia 24-incher. It was easy to set up, but it was my fault when it came to plugging it in. once I did and hooked up the cable box to HDMI...WOW! The picture is beautiful and clear. Audio is decent enough for me. Wanted to give 4.5 stars, but the picture quality and ease of set up sealed the deal for me.

I always wait a month or so to do a review to ensure I'm still as satisfied as Day One. This TV was purchased for our kitchen and it is the perfect size, along with a great picture and great sound. I was concerned that it would be slightly out of sync with the TV in an adjoining room, but it isn't. I am very happy with it and only wish it had an obvious compatible cover for when it isn't in use (I use a kitchen towel to drop over it). Otherwise it is great!

I have 2 Insignia TVs including this one and so far both have been excellent. I also bought both of them open box and neither have had any issues being in that condition. Sure, it's 720p and isn't at all good for gaming on but as a TV/monitor with HDMI it is excellent. I have been buying Insignia products for a while now and have not had a bad or mediocre experience with anything of that brand. Cheers to Best Buy and keep up the great work on your brand!
