This wine cooler was a Christmas Gift to my husband and he loves it! I did my research before buying it and it’s a great value for the money! It looks nice and has all the features that he wanted to keep his wine collection at the right temperature.

It looks good, works good but when the compressor kicks in, is loud! If you don’t have a problem with that, is a good choice!

Nice Looking & Plenty of Space - Worth A Look

The Insignia 29 bottle wine cooler has been a great addition to my household. We are fairly regular wine and champagne consumers in my household and it is not uncommon for us to go through 5 or 6 bottles when entertaining. In the past I had to play a delicate game of rotating bottles in my fridge or freezer to quickly get them to temp. This is difficult to manage when you are cooling different types of wines, which have different serving temps. The outside of the cooler looks very good, and matches my expectations for the price point. The sides are all black, but the front door is trimmed out in stainless steel. The front door also has a full window allowing you to look inside. The door can be mounted to open from either side – out of the box the door is mounted with the hinges on the right side. I left the door in this position as it worked best for where I located the cooler. Inside the door at the top are all of the controls. There is a power button, light button, a display for the set temp, and up/down temp control buttons. If you press and hold the power and light button for 3s you will switch it over to a quick cool down mode. The cooler has 5 full shelves that hold 5 bottles each, which orient the bottle to have the cork facing out. The bottom of the cooler isn’t as deep due to the compressor and refrigeration system eating up some of that space. The bottom shelf ends up holding 4 bottles in a stacked 2+2 shelf with the bottles facing left to right. There’s additional space to the left of that shelf where you can stick mini bottles or whatever you might want to fit in that area. The shelves are all removable allow you to slide them out to take a look at what is on that shelf. If, for whatever reason, you need to remove a shelf, there is another slot at the very top where you can store the shelf . I can’t see any other reason for this shelf location, since no bottles will fit on the shelf if you put it there. These shelves are made and spaced for standard sized wine bottles. Larger/fatter bottles fit in the top shelf and very bottom shelf, but will have clearance issues fitting in the middle shelves. I had to locate my champagne bottles in the bottom shelf because of this. The cooler operates from 41-64°F, and the manual provides guidelines for proper storage temps for different types of wine. Most of the wines we drink are whites, rosés, and young reds. The cooler has a temperature gradient from top to bottom where the bottom is the coldest region of the cooler. The manual recommends storing champagne/sparkling wines at the bottom, whites above that, then rosés, then young reds, and then Bordeax’s and Burgundy’s at the top. That’s mainly how I have arranged my cooler. I have found that the temp gradient is the reason for this order, which I measured with some temp sensors I had. With the cooler temperature set to its lowest (41°) the bottom of the cooler was actually a bit colder at 38°. The first regular shelf was right at 41°, the middle shelf was 45°, and the top shelf was 48°. These temp measurements were taken with 20 bottles in the cooler spread fairly evenly on the shelves, and the door had been kept closed for over an hour. For me this temp range worked out really well as my champagnes were kept nice and cold, and my whites and rosés were kept at their optimal temp. My reds were a little on the cold side, but just leaving them out on the counter for a few minutes was enough to bring them to the correct serving temp. There are a couple of things to note about the cooler. The biggest one, for me, is the light. The light works great and you can see everything inside with ease when it’s on. However, turning it on requires opening the door. I wish the light had a few options like being tied to a door contact switch, or on a timer, or just have the button accessible without needing to open the door. The other thing to note is the compressor isn’t the quietest and you get a little bit of coil whine when it’s operating. Since I have mine set at the lowest temp the compressor runs a bit more often. It’s not egregious, but I wouldn’t want to sit next to this all day if I had the choice. For my purposes its not noticeable at all as I go about my day. Overall, I really like having this cooler. It has freed up a bunch of space in my fridge and on my shelf where my wine rack normally sat. I like that it keeps it cold enough for champagne, and it has more than enough space to stockpile all the wine we need for a decent stretch. The cooler works really well, and I think it looks pretty sleek. It would blend right in in a nice home-bar setup.

    Great Compact Wine Cooler!

The Insignia 29 bottle wine cooler is an energy star certified wine storage refrigerator. The 3.3 cubic foot cooler is rated for 29 bottles of wine. Like most other wine box manufacturers the rated number of bottles is for "standard" bottles (meaning Bordeoux sized). We drink mostly White Burgundies and Rhones that come in fatter than "standard" bottles. I wanted this cooler to store my older white Burgundies and Rhones at a cooler temperature than my large wine cooler. I had to alternate the bottle orientation, top to bottom then bottom to top to fit my bottles in (see photo). This was expected and works fine but makes it a little more difficult to discern what the upside down bottles are. The instruction manual states that this is not designed to be permanently installed. I have put mine in a cabinet that since 1960 has housed a half sized regular refrigerator. The wine cooler is considerably smaller and has several times the wall clearance that the manual requires. In spite of being in an enclosed area there seems to be adequate air space and ventilation where I have put it. This cooler has automatic defrost, touch temperature controls with LED display, a rapid cooling function and a reversible door with clear glass. The chrome wire shelves claim adjustability, but other than being removable I see no adjustments available. This cooler is perfect for storing my older bottles of White Burgundy and Rhones at a cooler temp than my large cooler is set at. While I cheated somewhat on the installation location instructions it seems to be working flawlessly. I am very happy with this cooler.

    A Cost Effective Wine Cooler

We had been looking for a cooler for our wine and champagne but found the prices to be a bit on the hiogh side. Because of that we continued to chill bottles as needed, and stored the rest in the closet. The Insignia 29 Bottle Wine Cooler changed all that with it's affordable price point and great performance and stylish design. Unboxing & Setup The wine cooler was shipped to my home and was well packaged with a slide off box like larger home appliances. There was a bit of damage to the corner of the box so was expecting the worst. To my surprise the box did its job and there was no damage to the cooler. There is the typical blue tape applied to hold moving parts in place that needs to be removed, but other than that there is no real set up. Due to the smaller size, it fits perfectly in our downstairs hangout space, but don't be fooled it will hold well over 25 bottles. It's listed at 29, but based on some larger champagne bottles, we left a couple of slots open. This was not an issue as we are more than happy with the amount of bottles it will hold. The digital thermometer and push buttons make it easy to set the appropriate temperature. There's also a light alongside the power button. The temperature seemed to come down gradually, so I let it get a bit cooler before beginning to introduce some bottles. Overall Experience The Insignia 29 Bottle Wine Cooler is a cost effective bottle chiller that also looks great. With a Stainless Steel "look" it compliments our room's furniture and would certainly match SS appliances in today's modern kitchen. The door can be setup to swing right or left depending on your space and the legs are adjustable to allow for adjustment on uneven flooring. The build quality is decent, it's certanly not as robust as a more costly cooler, but it does what is't suppose to and looks great at the same time. The light is super convenient when trying to find a specific bottle. Pros: - Great looking and affordable - Can hold up to 29 bottles at a time - Easy to setup and use - The digital temp gauge and control buttons are well placed - Door is adjustable to swing in either direction Cons: - Probably a bit knitpicky but it can be a little loud when the cooling unit kicks on

A fantastic wine cooler with plenty of room for your bottles. I was working with a 6 bottle cooler, and it just got tiring playing musical bottles to figure out which one of our wines we wanted chilled, while the rest sat in a wine rack. Now we don’t have to pick and choose as much, plus its replacing both the standing wine rack and the chilled cooler, so its saving us space. Setup was super easy and mostly obvious, instructions were limited, but that is no surprise for something you really just need to plugin but gives you good information about leveling and breathing room. I was confused about the wire basket initially since it didn’t really explain it, but after looking back at Best Buys site I noticed its an additional bottle holder (4 to be exact). The controls are simplified and well lit for viewing, there is also a “Quick Cool” option which I could not find anything in the instructions about or online, which I tried once and it seemed to just turn on “FC” which I seems to blast the cooler on? Dropped like 9-10 degrees within 3 hours. The instructions do provide you a nice guide to the different wine temps you should store the wine at, so don’t throw it away. I like the stainless steel look to it and I think looks great in my home. I did notice a discrepancy with the temperature of the cooler and the wine bottles, about 4 degrees F difference, and it has been running for 6 days before I checked it. I’m not quite sure what to think about it or if my laser temp gun reader may be slightly off (See picture, cooler set to 60 and was reading about 64 throughout the cooler) but the bottles did feel quite cool to the touch. Despite this, I’m overall happy with it and its cooling quality.

Made for standard sized wine bottles

Overall I like this wine cooler because it has a small footprint and it generally holds all my various wine bottles. The downside of its smaller size is that if you have a wider than normal bottle it forces you to leave an open/wasted slot next to it. Also it only supports standard length bottles so if you have a long bottle it will not fit. Any extra wide or longer bottles have to be placed in the bottom rack which sits loosely in the bottom of the cooler. Lastly, mine came with marks across the top caused by the packing material, hopefully this was a fluke and isn’t the norm. Pros: - Holds a lot of wine bottles for its small footprint - Digital thermostat lets you verify the temps - Internal light helps with bottle identification - Reasonably quiet when running Cons: - Wine bottle spacing is very tight so wide bottles limit shelf space - The depth does not support long bottles - Packaging left marks on the top’s finish Setup and Operation: My wine cooler came well packed with sheets of Styrofoam on all sides. Underneath the Styrofoam they used some plastic wrap to protect the cooler’s finish. Sadly where the plastic wrap was not used on the top of the unit the Styrofoam left marks on the finish. (see photo) While not really that noticeable it isn’t something you like to see on a new item and because its short the one thing everyone sees is the top. Once plugged in the unit ran reasonably quiet and the digital thermostat made it easy to get the right temp for my red wines. There is a built in light which definitely makes it easier to identify the bottles. Bottle Alignment: Inside the unit there are five racks which hold 5 bottles of wine each and a free standing rack on the bottom that holds four bottles. To hold 5 bottles the upper racks have very little spacing between bottles so if you have a thicker bottle than normal it will create problems. Also the depth of the unit does not allow bottles longer than normal to be stored on the upper racks. If you put one on the rack it will not allow you to close the door. I had three bottles that were too long and one that was too wide. The long ones I moved to the free standing shelf on the bottom and the thick bottle forced me to leave an open spot on the shelf next to it.

This has everything I could want out of a single space wine cooler, single space meaning only one controlled temperature. My old wine cooler of the same brand has become my white wine cooler as I can’t change the temperature on that, and this one has become my red wine cooler as we usually have more red wine than white wine and I can set the temperature of this one. It goes up to 64 degrees, which is the recommended temperature to store red wine at, so perfect. I tried storing it at 61 at first but my wife opens and drinks the wine too fast, so I ended up just setting it at 64 and that has been perfect. The top row is able to fit the extra-large bottles and port bottles fit a little weird, port bottles are always a weird shape. The small but long port bottles there is a small ledge in the back that I place the end over and I am able to close the door. So, I suppose if you are really into port wine this might be something to keep in mind, but we only have a few bottles for port as I am the only one that drinks port so for us this isn’t an issue at all. Overall, I love the size of this cooler and I was even able to stack the old one on top to save a little space in our crowded garage (which is a terrible place to store wine unless you have a temperature stabilizing environment like a wine cooler.

An Affordable, Simple Solution to Wine Care

Somehow I have gone several years without owning a wine cooler. Admittedly, I try to moderate my purchasing...or at least align it with my consumption rate. However, at times, wine clubs get ahead of me and I find myself storing my bottles in either the refrigerator (too cold!) or in my dishwasher (don't judge! I clean as a I cook...temperature is stable, but too warm for most wine). The Insignia 29-Bottle Wine Cooler is a good size for my needs. It's simple and attractive with black sides and a stainless steel framed glass door. This one isn't meant to be installed in a cabinet, and is just a tad too tall (33-5/16") for most conditions anyway. It stands fine on its own. The interior is black with chrome racks that provide some adjustability since shelves are removable. The bottom rack allows for storing larger bottles, such as champagne, laterally. There's a cool color temp led light that can be turned off if desired. The door can be reversed and front feet are adjustable for leveling. Touch Controls are simple: 1- On/Off Button 2-On/Off Button for the interior light Hold both for 3 seconds to "Quick Cool" needs 3 and 4 are temperature adjustment buttons. Hold both to switch between Fahrenheit and Celsius on the digital display. This is a single-zone cooler with a temperature range of 41-64 degrees Fahrenheit. I found it to be relatively stable with a deviation of 5-8 degrees from top to bottom.

Great wine fridge. Looks great from the outside, with stainless steel border of the glass. The inside is nothing fancy, with wire racks rather than real wood, but it does the job. Like other wine fridges I've used, it still has a bit of trouble fitting in the wider bottles of pinot noir that I have. So while each rack should be able to fit 5 bottles to get to the 29 bottle capacity, you can only fit four if you have wider bottles. The wire racks do make it easier to squeeze bottles in versus wood racks (I've scraped up so many labels trying to force bottle into wood racks). The bottom rack can fit 4 regular bottles crosswise, but again, only with regular size bottles. The temperature setting can go from 41 to 64 F, so you can accommodate a red collection or white collection. No dual zones, so you'll have to choose one, or store one of them at a sub-ideal temperature. The touch controls are located at the top inside the door, and it's easy to adjust the temperature and turn on the interior light (the light doesn't come on automatically). All in all, a great value for a wine fridge. Highly recommend!

I have been wanting to get a wine cooler for some time now so I'm glad this model became available. It looks good in my dining room, has plenty of room for bottles, is extremely easy to set temperature, and is very quiet. The unit itself looks nice when set up. There is a nice white/blueish light you can turn on to illuminate it when needed. This is turned on via button though, it would be nice if it just turned on when you opened the refrigerator though. The LCD tells you the current temp and it is easy to adjust. The front looks to be of decent quality, but the housing metal appears to be a little cheaper and subject to dents if you are not careful. The shelves are sturdy but made out of molded metal. This is fine in general for a basic unit but not good if you prefer wooden shelves The unit runs very quietly with barely any sound whatsoever in a quiet room. There is shelving for a good number of units. I have a very large bottle of prosecco which is not a standard width, but there are two large slots oriented 90 degrees at the bottom for this very purpose. Last, the door is tinted to protect the wine against UV. Overall this wine cooler is stylish and effective but I would rate it as “entry level” due to build quality. Also, if you are concerned about security look elsewhere as there is no lock.

The cooler itself isn't huge in size, but has massive internal space, and serves us well as a fridge for all drinks, not just wine bottles. It also looks good, the interior light and smoky glass door give it quite a classy look. Removing a star because it's a little noisier than I expected it to be, but it's not overwhelming or really much of an issue, just something to be aware of if you were expecting silent operation.

This wine fridge is nearly silent when running. the wire shelves are slightly flimsy but will hold the bottles just fine. There is nothing to stop you from pulling the shelf out too far when accessing or viewing the bottles so you must be aware to not drop them all off the shelf. It lights from the top, so when it is full, the light barely lights the lower half. Great for the price
