Insignia™ - 4' USB-C to USB-C Braided Charge-and-Sync Cables (2-Pack) Summary: Convenient and performant charging USB-C cables. Use: Needed some new USB-C power and charging cords. Nothing too long, but also something longer than a foot. We also wanted something a little more durable that my day to day ones they are replacing (that are a bit worn at the ends). Insignia branded goods typically offer a good value. These cost about double what you might expect, but they are convenient, lightweight, and from a trusted brand. Running these cables through an array of testing was a bit weird. They're cables. They either work or they don't. I can say that they work. They power and charged a variety of devices from iPhones, to portable batteries, to PS4 controllers. I even powered my Surface Laptop 3 Go with it. I don't have a high-performance external disk with me to test - but I did compare transfer times for moving files from my phone to an NVME disk on my computer. I can say that copying 65 GB of data took about 2 hours with this cable. I tested with another cable and it was about the same. I suspect this cable would perform similarly if I had better test setup for transfer rates. All in all, if you need a cable and want something that is reliable, I think these are a safe bet. Pros: * Braiding. The braided sheathing is nice. It looks elegant, and it is tight knit. * Ends. The ends have raised edges to allow for a better grip while connecting or disconnecting the cable. * Performance. As expected, these cables perform similar to other USB-C cables. Cons: * No-frills. Similarly priced cables often feature LEDs in one end to indicate power being drawn. These don't have that, and that is okay. But something to consider at this price point.

I have quite a few PD enabled chargers in my house and cars. With everything shifting to USB-C these days it’s time to really stock up on these cables. That is where this 2-pack of 60W rated cables comes in. These cables are 4ft long with braided sleeves, a 60W rating, and 480Mbps transfer speed. These cables should be used almost exclusively for charging, since the 480Mbps is down in the depths of USB 2.0 speeds and is only useful for occasionally pulling pictures off my phone. For my use case the transfer speed absolutely didn’t matter. I cared about the reliability/durability and power delivery rating of this cable. For power delivery a 60W cable is more than enough for any phone or tablet out there, and even quite a few laptops. I have 1 laptop that uses a 60W charger, another Samsung Tablet that uses a 45W charger, and then our Pixel phones that use 25/30W chargers. For all of these devices this cable is more than enough. Since this cable rated for PD charging you can also use it with higher power delivery chargers. The PD protocol allows this and will only deliver the 60W that this cable is rated for, but your device will charge slower. I tried this out on my Surface Studio 2 with a 100W compact charger, and it worked just fine, albeit slower. As far as reliability/durability goes I try to strike a balance between that and the cost of the item. I have found the Insignia components strike a good balance here. I have 6 GaN PD chargers from Insignia, and another 6-10 of their cables because of this. They have all held up well and performed exactly as hoped. These chargers and cables, some used daily by multiple devices, have not showed any signs of wearing down or breaking. In short, I trust their products to hold up well and not break the bank to do it. These cables in particular seem to be a solid bargain. The cable sleeve looks fine to me – a little on the cheaper side compared to some nicer nylon sleeved cables, but it feels durable. This also won’t coil up as nice as the softer nylon sleeved cables. However, the sleeve being a little on the stiffer side gives it some rigidity, and it certainly has more flex than a plastic/rubber sleeved cable. I actually prefer cables like this for my nightstands and end tables because the softer cables like to fall off/slide away when unplugged. The last thing I want is to go fishing for my cable each time. The cable ends feature a pretty standard USB-C head with the cord protection/strain relief as part of the connector mold. It’s easy to plug in and unplug, so mission accomplished there. There are no frills here – no cable wrap for storage, and no tag indicating power service. While those items are missed, they are only “nice to haves.” The cables themselves are a good deal and I expect them to hold up for a while.

I just got 2 Insignia 4ft USB-C to USB-C braided cables. It’s hard to write a meaningful review of a cable, but I’ll do the best that I can. Insignia is a product line made specifically for Best Buy. These cables are 4 ft long and have USB-C Male connections on both ends of the cable. It is rated for up to 60 watts and does fast charging and fast data transfers The cable is surrounded by a black braid to protect the wires. The ends of the cable have 1.25 inches of hard plastic protecting the cable from bending problems. The section of the cable closest to the end is the most likely to get damaged from bending and the plastic prevents that from happening. The plastic is about 1/8 inch thick. I have cables with thicker plastic and thinner plastic and this is just about right. It shouldn’t get in the way of plugging into most USB-C ports. The ends can be plastic or silicon. Silicon ends are softer and flex more. This could cause the wires themselves to stretch and get damaged. The plastic ends are more rigid and better protect the wires. I like the cable ends and the cable covering. I think that 4 foot is a good length. I have chargers that operate at up to 24 watts and it handles that just fine. I like these cables and can recommend them.

These USB cables are of excellent quality and function well. They look great and feel substantial, well made and durable like other Insignia accessories I've purchased. They make a solid connection when plugged into a mobile device, laptop, docking station or charger. They don't limit data transfer rates and support high power charging as per their specifications. I don't have the equipment necessary to test their power handling or data bandwidth limits, but do find that I get expected fast charging rates and data transfer speeds. They tend to be less flexible than thinner rubber cables, which makes them less likely to be pinched or kinked and damage internal conductors. This also helps them stay straight, they don't tend to stay curved or bent, or retain the shape they had in their packaging. The connector ends have good strain relief, and they are not smooth which makes them easy to plug in and remove. The braided cables are less likely to bind and tangle with themselves or other cables, and aesthetically I think they look nice and feel better than rubber cables when handled. Overall I couldn't be much happier with them.

Great cables for the price. The braided design feels durable, the length is just right, and they charge my devices quickly. Having a 2-pack is super convenient.

These cables are very sturdy. Braided and feel heavy duty. So far they have performed perfectly. I appreciate the slightly longer length versus the Apple cables.

Quit buying charging cords at gas stations yall are wasting hard earned cash. The price to value for these cables is phenomenal. I only buy cables from Best Buy due to the price and the 2 package deal. Couldn’t recommend it more!!!!
