Picture quality was very good, better than much higher-priced TVs. Sound quality was excellent and did not sound tiny, which has become problematic for many of today's flat screen sets. Easy to use, although the stand was a bit complicated to put together. Would highly recommend it to someone looking for a basic set without smart TV capabilities or many other extras.

I am very pleased with both the picture and sound quality of this TV. It is a great TV for the price. My husband initially bought a different brand TV for the same price and had to return it since the picture quality was not very good. Then I researched TV's through online reviews and Consumer Reports ratings, and I picked this one. We bought it about a month ago and so far we are very happy with it.

I bought this TV a couple of weeks before Black Friday for $170 or so. For the price it's an excellent TV. The colors pop, the audio is very good (not great), and I had no trouble with setting everything up. It has a well-built stand and it just the right size for the space I have available. I've only have this set for about a month and I've had no problems so far. That being said, I can't attest to the longevity of Insignia models so make sure you're careful with that warranty.

Needed a TV for a spare room. Have a 32" TV in another room and wanted something bigger. Found this 40" TV for a great price. It is light for its size and I was able to easily mount on the wall. 1080 picture is great, colors are bright and TWC cable comes very clearly. Sound is also very good. I don't have to turn up the volume much to get clear sound that fills the room it's in. Overall it's a great TV for the price and couldn't ask for much more.

I wanted to find a new TV for my mother's living room, and I saw an excellent deal on this 40" LED TV at Best Buy on Black Friday. I didn't care too much about having 120HZ because this wasn't going to be for intense gaming or anything. This was pretty much a TV just watch the news, some Bulls games, and stuff. So I thought 60HZ would suffice, and it did. As a matter of fact, I'm impressed with the fact that sports and other high-motion video look excellent on it. I see little to no blurring. The cable signal I'm viewing is 1080i and it looks stunning. Very clear, vivid, and sharp. The sound is excellent and it gets pretty loud. So far the TV has been working excellent. My mother loves it. Also, I would like to add that its design and the stand are very sleek and good looking. The stand is of very high quality. It's like made of glass or something. The TV looks and feels more expensive than it was. I'm very impressed. The remote is nice a simple as well.

Wanting just a basic TV for a bedroom, I wasn't looking for "The Best" I simply wanted a decent TV that wasn't too bulky and had a pretty good picture. The main selling point for this TV in the store was the price and size. It wasn't too small and the price wasn't too big. After watching it for a few days I've been really satisfied with the overall quality of this model. The sound is excellent and the picture quality is pretty good as well.

If you are looking for a nice picture, then this is that TV. Not only does it produce a quality picture, but it has pretty good sound too. The only problem I have with buying this particular TV is the fact a 40 inch 1080p Westinghouse went on sale the next day for $50.00 cheaper. I would have bought that one or returned this if it wasn't all set up. That has nothing to do with this TV really, just made me cry inside a bit and I thought I would share. Is it worth this price? Yes, definitely. Would I buy it again? Yes, definitely.

The TV was a gift for my daughter. I was very impressed with the picture quality and the amazingly low price. I was unable to buy the TV for myself because we were in Colorado visiting my daughter when I made the purchase. By the time I got home, the TV was sold out in Florida. I liked the Insignia so much that I purchased a 32" TV for my pool area. Enjoying the same quality just a little smaller.

I purchased this TV because of the price and the rating. The price was one of the lowest, and it was also an exceptional value. I also needed a specific size to fit an area and this was the my choice. I opted for the center stand on the model as I needed a specific size and thought the center stand would provide better stability. This TV has a very good quality picture and very good definition.

First we love the Insignia brand. They are very high rated. We bought our first Insignia about 2 years ago from Best Buy. It still works just as good today as it did when we got it. This tv here is almost the same tv,just a smaller version, but not by much. Great picture and sound quality. I consider it a top of the line TV. Well worth the price. Works great with a ROKU stick too.

We were looking for a tv that could go on our tall dresser in the master bedroom. Wasn't looking for anything spectacular since it isn't our main tv. Looks very nice, lightweight, and could go on wall if we wanted. Stand isn't very high. There's enough room that our cable box doesn't block the tv, but we couldn't put a DVD player underneath the cable box, it'd block the tv screen.

I bought this Insignia 40 inch TV for my home office. The use case is a computer monitor. I wanted a TV with a 1024P resolution to display a maximum 1920X1024 computer screen. This TV replaced a 32 inch TV with a 720P resolution. The two HDMI inputs allow me to share this TV at 1920 X 1024 with two PCs, one running Ubuntu and the other is a PC2GO compute stick by Hipstreet. By using the HDMI inputs I am able to watch YouTube videos and NetFlix with these Ubuntu and Windows 8.1 PC2GO computers I also use it to watch U-Verse TV programs and digital TV. I connect my AT&T U-Verse via the Component input of this Insignia TV to get 1024i resolution. The Digital TV is a built in feature of this TV. The speakers have a great sound with a broad range of highs and lows. I have no need to buy a sound bar to augment this TV. This is a huge advantage to me, since other TVs of this size (40 inches or larger) have poor fidelity speakers that require some sort of speaker replacement. This Insignia TV with built in speakers is perfect for my ears.

Great tv. Got it on black Friday deal so good value for a 40" tv. Great picture with excellent clarity and picture quality. My daughter got same tv at a reasonable $249 few months earlier and was very pleased with it so we bought 2 more on black Friday sale at $159 each. Insignia products last - we've had others over the years, and we couldn't be happier with our purchases!

I bought this HDTV for my son for an exercise/workout room he shares with his mother. This was an open box purchase and was easy to set up. The only unusual thing about the system was that it has a strange smell (plastic and warm electronics aroma); for a workout room that is not an issue. The picture clarity and sound are fine as is. We did add a visio 5.1 sound bar because we wanted surround sound in the workout room. It is connected to the digital optical audio output of the tv. The insignia tv remote control adapted to the visio system and now controls the visio surround sound volume and mute. We also added a samsung bluray wifi player that works seamlessly with this tv and basically makes it a smart tv. My son likes listening to Pandora from the bluray player through the TV and the surround sound system while working out.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR GRANDPARENTS AND THEY LOVE IT! IT'S EASY TO SET UP, SIMPLE TO SCAN FOR CHANNELS [IT INSTANTLY GIVES YOU THAT OPTION RIGHT WHEN YOU TURN IT ON FOR THE FIRST TIME]. OTHER TVS MAKES YOU GO TO THE MENU SETTINGS TO SEARCH FOR THE AUTO CHANNEL SCAN. REALLY SAVED A LOT OF TIME. PICTURE AND SOUND QUALITY IS PERFECT. GRANDPARENTS LOVE IT! NO PROBLEMS HEARD FROM THEM.

I saw this in the Best Buy Black Friday Ad and was replacing an old RCA TV. Picture looks as good as my larger SONY TV and setup was relatively easy. I purchased the optional extended warranty, which I usually never do, but I expect to have this TV a long time and don't want any problems. So far, this TV has met and exceeded my expectations and I'm very happy with it
