Dissatisfied in the Fire version of Insignia

Purchased TV for a reasonable price; however, within 6 months it began to malfunction. It would not launch apps (after multiple restarts/factory resets and clearing app cache). In addition, it would automatically turn on without any picture (just sound). I generally purchase Insignia's, in fact 7 total, I will stick to purchasing Roku versions.

Slow, constantly freezing, need to wait for it to think after every button push. Usually need to unplug TV to get apps to work once they freeze.

Bought this TV for a family member who wanted a smart TV. The set up was extremely easy. The TV prompted you through Wi-Fi and app set up. The picture is really clear, and the app processor is fast enough for what was needed. No lag. The remote wanted to "update" a few times when the TV was turned on. We patiently waited while the "do not use the remote until update is complete which will take 60 seconds" notice remained on the TV for over 5 minutes. Eventually we forced the update to end. Not sure what that is about. Had to do that a few times. Otherwise, it is sleek, bright and easy to use. I highly recommend this tv. One thing to note - the legs are wide. We were replacing a tv that had a small center pedestal and didn't factor that in when figuring if the new tv would fit in the space.

I've wanted a smart tv for quite some time, so when I saw this Fire TV on sale, I had to buy it. It was very easy to set up, and it was very lightweight. I did not like the feet since there are at an odd angle, and they look so cheap. I measured my TV stand and the feet should have fit but they didn't due to the awkward angle. I immediately ordered one of those glass pedestal stands, which is much nicer looking, although it made the TV heavier--- not that I'm going to be moving it around.
The TV is very easy to add/delete apps, and it's nice that I no longer need a streaming device with a separate remote. I'm a DirecTV customer so I just plugged the cable into the TV. Easy peasy. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to "name" my HDMI slots. Instead of HDMI 13 or HDMI 14, I would like to change them to read DirecTV and BlueRay. My Samsung TV spoiled me in this regard.
The picture is great and all the settings are easy to change to your personal preferences.

This is a great tv for the price. Nice picture. Love the fact that it’s set up like your firestick. So all u have to do is basically sign in to your accounts if u already have a fire stick. If there’s anything negative to say is the sound is not that great and you have to get a sound bar. Other than that great tv!!!

This is my second insignia firetv. Its a good tv. Great picture, good sound, and light weight for mouting. The only reason i dont rate it a 5 is a small annoyance i have with the remote. The volume control, you have to press it for every level of volume change, 1-100. Meaning if your at 1 and you wqnt to get to 100 you have to push the button 100 times, no holding the button on this remote. It gets annoying

This TV is a replacement for a Samsung 32" that was bought close to 20 years ago, and is in a bedroom. We are not expecting to get anywhere near that amount of time with this tv but that's ok. The TV has full hd which looks nice. But the fire interface is a little slow. Again we don't user it all that often so it is something that's not a deal breaker. The tv is super light but be aware the legs on this tv are very close to the edge of the tv so if it is going on something that is a bit smaller than the tv you most likely will be mounting it. But as I said it is super light. One of the things I noticed was that the bezel on the bottom of tv had seemed to pull apart from the screen and had collected some Styrofoam from the packaging. I wanted to see if maybe I could snap it back in place after clearing it with some compressed air but the snapping sound I heard scared me enough to just leave it alone. All in all I don't think this tv is for heavy duty use but as a tv for a bedroom or maybe a tv that doesn't get used all that much it would be fine.

I am very happy with this TV. It was eady to set up and use the smart functions and has a great picture.. It is lightweight, making it really easy for 1 person to hang it on the wall. I replaced an older, much heavier, 32" TV, and this looks so much better on my wall.

This TV is the perfect size for our bedroom, has a great picture - admittedly not like the latest and greatest, but we have found the almost 3-D nature of the newest TV's offputting - and the price was definitely right. Pretty easy to set up, you just have to know your current passwords. And the Best Buy folks at the store were great.
