    Good Smart TV, especially with Alexa

    I would’ve gave it four stars, but the Geek Squad and the exchange was extremely helpful. We bought the first one on Father’s Day, but it was having power issues by the end of the week. A gentleman at the Geek squad showed us how to reset the fire TV. When it was having power issues, our Best Buy store allowed us to do an even exchange. The packaging was very easy to remove the fire TV out of the box. Setting it up with our existing Alexa smart network was pretty easy. The only issue with connectivity was the placement of the RCA sound video ports and the coax antenna, which was too close on mounting it on the VESA mounting brackets. My wife’s favorite feature is connecting your Apple devices through AirPlay. Overall, it is a good lightweight, reasonably priced, smart TV.

    I just don’t know how you could get a better tv at a better deal! Picture quality and sound are both very good. This is the second of these TVs I bought; this one for the bedroom, the other in my living room. Super easy for one person to setup, even at 50”. They even improved the leg installation over the other tv I bought previously; made it easier and mistake-proof. I needed this one raised so I could watch it in bed, so I bought a mount - and it connected easily. Yes, I would whole-heartedly recommend this tv. In fact, I have already recommended this tv to others.

    This is the fourth Insignia TV I’ve bought in the past year—and that says everything! The picture quality is crisp, the colors are vibrant, and setup is always a breeze. I use them in different rooms and even one outside, and they all perform like champs. The built-in Fire TV features are super convenient, and the remote is user-friendly. Great value for the price—honestly, I don’t see a reason to buy anything else. Highly recommend this TV to anyone looking for a reliable upgrade!

    I absolutely love fire tvs and this one does not disappoint. Opted for this option over same inch cheaper options, though this price is pretty good. So far so good!! I’ll update after a couple months as it has only been a couple weeks

    Flashing bar at the bottom

    I purchased this tv on 6/20/25 less than a month ago and it has a flashing bar at the bottom that won’t go away. Best told me I have to contact the warranty company. But it’s this their tv brand. Will never purchase an Insignia product again.

    Insignia 50" F50 Series 4K Smart TV – A Great Upgr

    I bought the Insignia 50” F50 Series mainly to replace my mom’s older TV, which was really starting to show its age. I wanted something simple for her to use, with a better picture and all the streaming apps built in. After setting it up and watching it in action, I’m honestly pretty happy with the choice. Picture Quality The 4K resolution is sharp and noticeably better than what she had before. Movies and shows look much clearer and more colorful, especially with Dolby Vision — which gives the picture better contrast and more vibrant colors. Even from across the room, it’s a clear upgrade. Sound The built-in sound is decent — clear and loud enough for her living room without needing external speakers. It won’t compete with a full surround system, but for regular TV watching, it’s more than enough. If we decide to upgrade the sound later, a soundbar would be a nice add-on, but it’s not urgent. Fire TV Built-In Having Fire TV already built in was a huge plus. My mom doesn’t want to mess with extra boxes or remotes, so having everything in one place was important. It’s got all the big apps like Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, and even live TV options. The menu is pretty easy to navigate once you get the hang of it. Remote & Alexa The remote is straightforward, and the Alexa button is helpful. At first I didn’t think my mom would use voice commands, but now she just asks Alexa to find shows or turn the volume down and it actually saves her time. It’s a nice feature that makes things feel more modern without being complicated. Design It looks clean and simple — nothing flashy, just a nice screen with thin bezels that fits well in her living space. It’s not bulky, and the size is just right for everyday watching. Things to Keep in Mind This isn’t a high-end OLED, so the contrast isn’t as deep, but for the price, the quality is still very good. The home screen does have a few Amazon ads here and there, but you can still customize the layout and make it feel more personal. The legs on the stand are a little wide, so make sure your TV stand can accommodate it, or consider wall-mounting. Final Thoughts Overall, this TV turned out to be a great gift for my mom. It gave her a big upgrade in both picture and convenience, without making things more complicated. If you’re looking for a good-sized, budget-friendly smart TV that does all the basics well and works great right out of the box, the Insignia F50 is definitely worth a look. A simple, solid choice for anyone who wants a reliable 4K TV without the fuss.

    I went into bestbuy to find some good but cheap TVs to use while I was at the Ronald McDonald House in Aurora, Co. They had TVs but they were really old and really small. So I went into the store and found these Insignia TVs on sale for $179. I was hoping that I could buy a could buy a couple and best buy would match my donation. They were not willing to do so!! So I bought 6, they are really great TVs 50" TV 4k for under $200. Almost to good to be true. I used the TV for 5 weeks while my son was hospitalized at children's and really liked having all the smart features. I am glad that I could donate the 6 TVs. The Ronald McDonald house needs quite a bit more. Maybe 30. If you are in a position in your life to donate. This is a great option for all the families that are stuck there.

     This TV is awesome! It is nice and loud. Which I needed, because I have a hard time hearing TV is a lot of times. You can even hear this over the AC unit. It has better sound than my bigger Samsung TV. The picture quality is amazing! This is my second 4K TV, and this one has about the same quality as my bigger Samsung. This is great for my bedroom. I upgraded from a 42 inch to this 50. The size difference is noticeable on the screen itself, but it’s still somehow did not take up much more room. I think the bezel on my old TV was much bigger. Anyway, i would really recommend this TV. It has great sound, is not super slow, and has great picture. It is NOT as fast as a streaming device (we use the PS5 as our main device), but it is faster than the 2029 Samsung we have.

    Amazon Account Required for MOST Features

    You need to sign into your Amazon account in order to download most apps. Without signing in, you’re limited to 5 streaming apps, and the selection is small. The quality of the screen is surprisingly nice, and the speakers are better then expected. I mostly bought this for Youtube, and it’s perfect for that. I would not reccommend this TV for older people because the setup is annoying.

    Setup was quick and easy. TV physically looks great with a thin bezel around the screen and easy to attach legs for free standing use. Remote is very good both in size and functionality. Buttons are located in the right places and it’s pretty intuitive. Alexa setup to my account was very easy. If you have Prime you have many options in which to view with many at no cost. Sound is very good and there is a Voice Enhancement setting to further help dialogue. Picture is more than adequate for most people. Keep in mind this TV is very reasonably priced and it’s 50 inch with a lot of features. I would defiantly recommend this TV to a friend.

    I like this TV. It has a good picture quality and the home screen is super convenient/not awkward like some. I only wish I could get a soundbar, but the audio is pretty high quality, not tinny at all. The remote is super nice, don't really use Alexa but it works. It was an easy set up and overall great purchase. Nice size too. I'm not sure what the deal is with the screensaver, but I haven't given it much thought.

    This wasn't the tv we went on to look at but it was bigger, 2 models higher, and cheaper! It was not an open box either. It is the perfect tv for the dining room. Only negative i have is the sound is a bit tinny but a sound bar is usually paired with a living room tv anyway. If you are looking for electronics and you are close to a Best Buy, go there and look around. They usually have unadvertised deals.

    Bought as a gift for my elderly parents as they needed a smart tv in order to get satellite tv service for the first time in their lives. It was extremely easy to teach them how to use this tv. My dad is hard of hearing and was surprised that he could hear this tv and both mom and dad were happy with the quality of the picture.

    The first order I received was damaged and then I took the broken TV back to the store and they took care of me with no questions asked. It was much appreciated. It was an inconvenience but the people at the Best Buy in Pleasant Hills took care of it quickly.
