Horrible… purchased this tv Jan 2017…it was ok until last year as the tv has developed this permanent blue hue/tint which makes it very difficult to see things because of the blue light/tint.

Opened box. Put legs on. Plugged into wall (no cable box, no DVR, no nothing). Turned on. Screen just garbage; full of random colored lines, with big black splotch covering about 1/5 of screen. Too late to return, so just started going through the warranty process (should be fun!).

Hello there, I'm sorry to read about the screen issues your TV continues to experience, however due to the size of the TV we can surely schedule a technician to go out to your house and perform a diagnosis of the TV set. This whole process should be free of charge, covered under the manufacturer warranty. I would strongly recommend contacting our support team to learn the details. - John Insignia Customer Care.

I replaced a 33 inch Insignia with this 55 inch. The 33 inch lasted 8 years and the digital inputs just suddenly died recently. It was a good TV, so I felt comfortable replacing it with another Insignia (Best Buy's store brand). Didn't quite think it through getting it home when I made the purchase online for store pickup. Good thing it was a decent temperature and the sun was out, popped the top on my convertible and laid it in the back seat. I guess my one complaint was removing it from the box. The supposed system devised to lift it out by the plastic bag handles was a disaster. They tore off immediately. Other than that, setup was a breeze. Picture and sound are pretty good, the remote is simple and I'm very happy with it overall.

Was skeptical at first purchasing a TV that wasn't from a well known manufacturer. Actually I have no idea who is the manufacturer of this TV. I just heard it's an in house Bestbuy brand TV. Got a great deal on the TV with Visa checkout, so I thought why not give it a shot. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I compared it with my LG led TV and it is on par in picture quality. Except this Insignia TV cost $150 less. Only thing I would be concerned about is it's reliability in the long run. I've only had it for 2 months and am very pleased with it so far.

We are big fans of Insignia. We have 2 Insignia TVs at home already and bought this TV few days ago. It has DTS. Sound is little bit improved. For $379 it's the best bet as we had very positive experience with Insignia products in the past. One of our TV is 42" (4 years old) and another one is 32"(3 years old). Both TVs are working like a charm. no trouble whatsoever. Why did we give 4 stars? because somehow when the screen is black or there is a night scene, We can see a off white very very light spot coming out from the left side of the TV screen and spreading towards the middle of the screen. If We see it from the side then the spot is more visible. We will wait for few more days before taking any action. May be we got the defective piece. other than that, The TV is very good. Picture quality is awesome. I won't buy expensive LG, Sony or Samsung to get the same picture quality I get on Insignia. We hooked it with my Sony Blu-Ray player and it became the smart TV now. I saved $150!! Also, We hooked it with the $60 worth woofer set. Now we have our own movie theater!!! I will definitely recommend this TV. Don't just buy an expensive TV for the sack of the brand name. This brand is worth to give a try.

I bought this TV for my son. Got it on sale for $330. A few days later the price went down to $300. Best Buy refunded the $30. Overall, this is a great TV for the price. I mean, $300 for a 55 inch LED is great!. Plus, the TV itself isn't bad at all. 60hz refresh rate is not my ideal choice but still a pretty decent. Great value really. No complaints.

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this TV. Easy to set up and is light and easy to handle for one person install. Bright colors and great picture. It's not the highest quality with all the bells and whistles, but doesn't have the high price of those type TV's. I would recommend this one to anyone looking for a well priced TV.
It's not a smart tv, it's not 4K, it's not 85"...... but if you want a great tv for under $400 this is it! I have Apple TV and ChromeCast on it anyways. Coming from Lg and Samsung only and paying premium for the "best" out.... I was very surprised that this tv performed so well. Very crisp clean picture, incredidible color, and the depth the contrast was able to display was unbelievable at this price or even double!! I read all about the newer 4K tvs and they are useless under 65" so why? I did the Pepsi challenge in store at many stores because I was looking for the best value and tv I could buy for our loft space... maybe a few movie nights at home a month so it's not a gaming tv or anything crazy! Let me say that if you can get this for $279 or close to it.... don't even think about it just pay and enjoy it. Buy the 2 year warranty and have piece of mind. Really I am very impressed.

This T.V has a very nice picture and the color is totally awesome! I didn't think it would be that good because of how cheap it is but it actually shows better than my other tv! Great buy and Great price!

I went into Best Buy with the insignia roku tv in mind. However, when I saw the picture on that right next to this product I knew I would be happier just buying a roku and hooking it up to this tv. The price of this TV and the roku I got came out to about the same price as the roku tv so price wasn't a concern. For the price you can't beat the picture! 55 inches is perfect for my space and I get so many compliments on how great the picture quality is on this TV. Setup was easy and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new 55 inch tv and doesn't want to compromise quality for cost.

I wanted to finally get a larger tv, and with so many brands out there I did some checking online. In the end, I decided to buy the Insignia tv because the big-name brands cost so much more and still had issues mentioned by owners. The Insignia had the connections I needed, was easy to set up and I have no complaints about the picture or any other aspect. I have other Insignia products and have had no problems with any of them. I've told friends and will mention here that it's definitely worth checking out the Insignia products! To me, this is a great basic tv.

I'm no tv/video expert by any means, but I am very pleased with this tv. I wanted a sizeable screen with multiple hdmi ports that was NOT "smart." I actually purchased a different tv before this one and returned it (it was a Westinghouse). Little details like a decent remote (though it's not fancy by any means) and a nice menu and channel/info display made this Insignia seem like a higher quality tv. Admittedly, I don't know what a top of the line tv would offer, but for under $300, I'm not wanting for anything more out of a tv.

I compared this to the next model up, couldn't justify the price difference while viewing the images in the store. Got it home, hooked it up the Firestick, NetFlix, Fantastic 1080p image. I know there are much better TV's out there with higher refresh rates, but for the price and my primary purpose is for movies, this one is great for me!

Very good TV if you don't want bells and whistles. Excellent price. Picture for HD channels is great! I paired with sound bar and sound is great too.

This is a replacement to a LG LED that went out. And it has performed just as good as my LG. I PAID $1500 for my old one 4 years ago and I needed an affordable tv right away. And couldn't afford anything over 300 bucks at the time. Luckily this tv was on sale for $250 bucks. I was skeptical because of the brand but the reviews helped. I googled the tv color adjustments and it is perfect. Insignia is my new favorite brand.

I was looking for a non-smart TV to replace an old projection model and this on fit the bill. I got it on sale for $269 which is crazy cheap for such a large TV. Even with the 60hz refresh rate, I don't notice any blurring in even the fastest action movies. Colors are bright and sharp with great detail. Good darks and whites. My 13 year old say it looks better than our samsung that was 4x's the price.

Bought this TV for my father-in-law for the Holidays ... his first wide screen. He absolutely loves it! He's now the envy of all his buddies who are coming over to his house to watch all the big football games. We have a similar sized Samsung (which cost quite a bit more a couple of years ago) that I would rate only slightly higher for picture quality (mostly for slight pixelation during fast moving sports; though, this is better for dark scenes in movies). Went into the store expecting to buy a different set from another name manufacturer. Salesperson told me to check out the Insignia (house brand). It definitely looked better than the other similar class TV's in the store. From what I understand, they are built for Best Buy either by Samsung or LG. Only time will tell about the build quality. But, if you don't need a "smart" TV and want a quality picture at a great price, this is your choice.
